A Dish Best Served Cold (The Man In Rage)
Chapter 1134 A Shocking Sight

Amidst their shock, Xur He felt himself caught by someone before he crashed into the ground.

It was a middle-aged man who was dressed in a military uniform.

Despite his strong features, he did not appear fearsome nor intimidating.

In fact, he gave everyone the impression that he was a perfectly ordinary man.

He was the sort of man who would not draw any attention to himself if he were to walk down the street.

Yet, it was this seemingly ordinary looking man who had caught Xur He with a single hand behind the latter's back.

He pulled Xur He down to the ground and began marching towards the crowd with Xur He in tow.

His face revealed no emotion. No one knew the power that hid within his strong and sturdy form.

What blew everyone away was how the earth cracked and splintered under his feet and how deep cracks appeared in hard cement with every step that he took.

The skies stretched out behind him while the vast army of soldiers bowed before him.

An overpowering aura exuded from his person while the deafening sound of his footsteps resounded in the air as he made his way towards Xur Jun-Lin and Ye Fan.

A fearsome power filled the air. The waves of authority that this man exuded sent fear coursing through everyone's blood.

"Is this...is this the Military God of China, Long Bai-Chuan?" Li Er and the others blurted out in horror as they stared at the man approaching them.

They had not felt such fear when Xur Jun-Lin had appeared.

This man did not seem like a man at all. He seemed to tower above them all like a mountain.

"What a bunch of ignorant fools. You have no idea what Bai-Chuan is truly capable of!" laughed Xur Jun-Lin when he saw the terrified looks on everyone's faces. His eyes glimmered with scorn and disdain. These men were but village idiots who had not seen the world.

The general turned towards Ye Fan and leveled a look of sympathy at the latter. Ye Fan was nothing but a corpse to him now.

He was a dead man walking.

Long Bai-Chuan was the Military God of China and the highest commanding officer in the military. He was a fearsome fighter in his own right too.

No matter how powerful Ye Fan might be, he wasn't going to be a match for Long Bai-Chuan.

This man was the man whom Xur Jun-Lin had carefully chosen out of tens of thousands of men. A mere young punk like Ye Fan could hardly compare with Long Bai-Chuan.

"This is the end for you, punk. We're going to end our games here," laughed Xur Jun-Lin mirthlessly before turning his gaze towards the approaching Long Bai-Chuan. "Bai-Chuan, deal with this, please. Kill this audacious punk."

The tone of his voice was heavy with the threat of violence and death.

Xur He echoed his father's sentiments.

"Uncle Long, you've finally arrived. This is the scoundrel who insulted my father and disrespected the Xur family. He killed my nephew, Shao-Hua, too. Please, take him down!" Hate and resentment dripped heavily from his words as he spoke.

Their voices rang out loudly in Haiyuan Restaurant, and their words an open declaration of their murderous intent.

Long Bai-Chuan walked up to Ye Fan with Xur He in his arms.

Everyone expected him to put Xur He down and launch a relentless attack against Ye Fan. Yet, the unexpected happened next.

Amidst the stunned stares of everyone, the reinforcement that Xur Jun-Lin and his son had hoped for lifted Xur He above his head and flung him onto the ground. The ground shook and cracked.

The force of his throw splintered the earth under Long Bai-Chuan's feet.

Blood erupted from Xur He's injuries as his bones shattered and his flesh was smashed into a pulp. His cries of pain pierced the air.

He passed out instantly upon impact, then lay immobile in his own pool of blood.

"Bai-Chuan! What are you doing?!" Xur Jun-Lin was flabbergasted. His eyes widened with shock and nearly popped out of his skull.

He had not expected the reinforcement that he had gotten would pummel his own son into a pulp instead.

Was Long Bai-Chuan an idiot? Had he gone completely mad?

Long Bai-Chuan disregarded Xur Jun-Lin's questions completely.

He stepped over Xur He's body expressionlessly and continued to approach Ye Fan.

Everyone watched as the Military God bent his knee and greeted Ye Fan with utmost deference.

His posture and his words showed nothing but humility and his greatest respect for the man before him.

"A thousand days of drowning myself in iced waters could not melt my burning loyalty for my lord. Your humble servant extends his greetings towards the almighty Dragon Master!"

BOOM...

Long Bai-Chuan's words fell heavily upon them like hail upon the land.

A sudden wind began to howl, sweeping fallen leaves off the ground and stirring Ye Fan's sleeves.

Time seemed to have come to a standstill.

Everyone was shocked at the sight of Long Bai-Chuan on his knees.

"What the hell is going on?" gasped Li Er as he widened his eyes in shock.

Lei San shook violently and nearly stopped breathing.

Chen Ao had gone completely still. It was as if someone had just hit him hard on the head. His eyes were going to pop out of his head any moment now.

The others trembled and gaped as if they had been put in a stranglehold.

None of them could have foreseen that Xur Jun-Lin's final trump card would fling his son onto the ground and address Ye Fan as his lord and master.

"Has this world gone completely mad?" blurted out Shen Fei.

Qiu Mu-Cheng's eyes were filled with shock as well.

Xia Xue appeared equally surprised, her chest heaving heavily from the well of emotion swelling inside her.

Wu Wei-Tao, who had been observing everything from afar, had trembled too.

The cup of coffee in his hands slipped and fell to the ground, shattering upon impact.

"What is going on? Is Long Bai-Chuan an idiot? He's the Military God! Why did he just kneel before a young punk like Ye Fan? He should be kneeling before Master Xur Jun-Lin instead!" growled Wu Wei-Tao furiously as his face darkened.

He had heard of Long Bai-Chuan.

He had thrown in his lot with the Xur and Lu families without hesitation because of this man.

Long Bai-Chuan was a battle-won fighter who had beaten the three armies without any help. Xur Jun-Lin had recommended that he be promoted. He had a strong relationship with the Xur family.

Wu Wei-Tao had been convinced that no matter how powerful Ye Fan was, he wouldn't be a match for Long Bai-Chuan.

He had not expected to witness this scene before him.
