Chapter 1250 Angie's Loneliness

The Book of Celestial Cloud talked about many things. One of the topics inside included records of people with special physical characteristics.

For example, there were some who were naturally born with herculean strength and could break rocks and stones from a very young age without any training.

There were also some who had a body filled with yin energy, so they had a lot of coldness within their bodies.

But Ye Fan was still in a daze.

Ye Fan was a little stunned to hear this. "A freak? Angie, what are you talking about? I'm so envious that you have such an ability, so why would I dislike you? I don't think you're a freak at all." Ye Fan didn't understand why Angie was suddenly saying such things.

"Fan, are you serious? You really don't think I'm a freak?" Angie looked up at Ye Fan with her large watery eyes.

Ye Fan could see a deep loneliness and her poor self-esteem in those eyes. He could see that she longed for others to acknowledge and accept her.

He could hardly imagine what someone as young as Angie must have gone through in order to feel such deep loneliness.

It turned out that Angie had found out about this ability of hers from a very young age. All these ferocious animals would become obedient and gentle after looking at her, and she enjoyed their company as playmates. In fact, Angie even felt a mysterious connection to these animals.

But after some time, her peers in both her family and Chu Sect began to see her as a freak of nature.

Everyone ostracized her and made her an outcast because they felt that she was a freak. They called her a beast in human form.

Because of this, Angie became more and more antisocial and refused to mix with anybody else. The number of humans she interacted with kept decreasing, and she kept mixing with only animals. This situation worried Angie's father and brother greatly.

In order to help Angie to integrate properly into normal society, they decided to lock Angie up in the house. They killed off any animals that came within proximity of the house and forbade her from getting into contact with any animals and only allowed her to mix with the people at home.

Angie ended up getting locked up in her own house for ten whole years. During these ten years, Angie had nearly forgotten that she had this ability. After she had run away from home and entered the rainforest, these cells that had been dormant for ten years suddenly awoke from their slumber.

But at the same time, the bad memories from her childhood flooded her mind as well when she noticed Ye Fan's reaction to her ability.

"When I was a child, Daddy would hit me and my brother would scold me whenever I spoke to the animals. Everyone would also look at me like I was an alien. Fan, am I really a freak? Why did all of them dislike me?"

"When I went to school, nobody wanted to sit at the same table as me. When we ate, nobody wanted to share the table with me either. If they saw me anywhere, they would all avoid me. I wanted to be accepted by them, play and have fun together with them, and I wanted to have lots of friends too."

She used to tell only the birds and insects about her feelings. She didn't know why she wanted to tell Ye Fan about them too.

Perhaps it was because Ye Fan gave her a very familiar feeling.

From the first time she saw Ye Fan, Angie felt a strange sense of closeness to him. She felt like she had been reunited with a friend she knew many years ago.

Her eyes were red and tears welled up in her eyes as she sniffled and told him her story.

Ye Fan felt many emotions go through his heart when he heard her talk about these things.

Perhaps there was a sad and lonely child in every person's heart.

Angie had one, and so did Ye Fan.

Back then, everyone in the Chu family had ostracized him this way too. He would never forget the disdain in the way everyone looked at him. They looked at him with such despise in their eyes, as if he was a

monster.

Ye Fan initially thought that he wasn't good enough and worked very hard to become accepted by them, but to no avail.

Finally, Ye Fan realized that he wasn't the one in the wrong. It was them!

There was no need for him to be accepted or acknowledge by anybody at all.

So after hearing what Angie told him, Ye Fan smiled quietly and reached out to gently wipe away the tears in Angie's eyes. He comforted her in a warm voice, "Angie, remember, your life belongs to you, so you don't have to yearn for anybody to accept you, and you don't have to be bothered by how others look at you."
