A Dish Best Served Cold (The Man In Rage) -
Chapter 1546
HUUU!
The wind swept Ye Fan's words away.
The young man's lean silhouette quickly disappeared from Ye Yu-Yan's sight.
Ye Fan was anxious, and his eyes were filled with worry.
This anomaly was happening just when he was heading for Chu Sect. It raised many alarm bells in Ye Fan's head.
Was this a coincidence?
Was Tang Hao right? Had Chu Sect learnt of Ye Fan's plans and decided to take control of the situation by sending martial artists to get him?
Even though he had already put the Invoke the Celestial Sky Formation in place within Jiangdong, Ye Fan wasn't sure if it was enough to keep those people out.
Ye Fan hurried over to Yunzhou the moment he sensed how powerful the energy was.
By the time Ye Fan got to the villa, Qiu Mu-Cheng, Li Er and the others were already there.
"Ye Fan, you're back." The worry on Qiu Mu-Cheng's face disappeared as she ran over excitedly into his arms.
"Mu-Cheng, are you okay. Did anything strange happen in Yunzhou?"
Ye Fan was relieved to see that everything at the villa was normal.
Qiu Mu-Cheng nodded before she asked quizzically. "Nothing happened. A bright light suddenly came from the west side this morning and felt like an explosion, and then a scorching wave swept over. The temperature in Yunzhou became as hot as summer overnight. Master Er was worried that something might happen, so he told me not to go to work today and stay home. Do you know what happened?"
Ye Fan shook her head. "I just got back, so I don't know what happened either."
Ye Fan looked at Li Er. "Have you
investigated this?"
Li Er nodded. "I sent someone to check. The anomaly seemed to have come from Jingzhou, but the army has sealed the place, so our men couldn't get in."
"From Jingzhou?" Ye Fan was startled.
Ye Fan's mother was in Jingzhou.
"Ye Fan, don't worry. I called Mum, and she said things are okay in Jingzhou. She just got a slight scare." Qiu Mu-Cheng comforted Ye Fan when she noticed how worried he was.
"That's good." Ye Fan nodded. However, he decided to go to Jingzhou personally.
Ye Fan was the King of Jiangdong, so it was only right that he investigate this matter.
Moreover, Ye Fan had a feeling that it had something to do with martial artists.
Ye Fan couldn't stop worrying if he didn't figure out what happened.
"Mr Chu, I will get the car ready." Li Er hurried over to bring the car over when Ye Fan said he wanted to investigate this personally.
Qiu Mu-Cheng was a little worried, so she wanted to go with Ye Fan, but he stopped her.
"Mu-Cheng, stay put here. Don't worry. Li Er and I are just checking this out, so nothing will happen. Remember to stay at the villa until I come back." Ye Fan got onto the car and headed to Jingzhou with Li Er after telling Qiu Mu-Cheng to stay safe.
Although Ye Fan was able to fly, he didn't do it unless it was an emergency and chose to use normal modes of transport.
He was worried it would draw unnecessary attention, and he also wanted to save his strength.
"Mr Chu, what do you think happened? Why would it be so hot when it is only March? This power must be incredibly strong if it can affect the weather so much." Li Er sensed the temperature go up as they approached Jingzhou.
Li Er and Ye Fan could only rely on the car air conditioning to stay cool.
Ye Fan nodded. "We will know when we get there."
The car suddenly slowed down as they spoke.
Li Er and Ye Fan realized that cars had pulled up on both sides of the car, and only the center lane was accessible.
Li Er wanted to drive right through, but a few traffic police dressed in uniform surprisingly walked over and stopped them. "Traffic control has been set up ahead, and outsiders aren't permitted to enter," said a lean man in uniform sternly.
Li Er frowned. "Traffic control? When can we enter?"
"I'm not sure. Maybe a couple of days or..."
A plump policeman suddenly interrupted impatiently. "Liang, stop wasting time with them. No one is allowed to enter. If you want to wait, then pull up by the roadside and get out of the way now! You can't bear the consequences for holding us up," said the plump policeman as he wiped the sweat off his brow.
"Did you just tell us to get out of the way?" Li Er paused before he sneered, "You are the first person in Jiangdong who dares to take that tone with me. I suggest you get out of the way if you don't want to get into trouble. Or else, none of you can take it if you piss Mr Chu off." Li Er was clearly angry now.
Ye Fan sat in the car the entire time and rested his eyes as though this had nothing to do with him.
"My, my! How dare you speak so arrogantly! You make it sound as though you are some big shot of the city like our Master Zhang!" The plump traffic police sneered, "Get lost now! Go somewhere else to throw your weight around. Don't cause trouble here!"
"Master Zhang, you say?" muttered Li Er in the car before taking his phone and making a call.
Before long, the call got through.
The bright voice of an old man came from the phone. "Hoho, Master Er? This is rare! I didn't expect your call. What can I do for you?"
Li Er was second to Ye Fan in power in Jiangdong, so Master Zhang had to be polite to him too.
Li Er wasted no time and said, "Zhang Cheng-Hu, can you come over? My car has been stopped in Yinan and they're not letting me through. Take care of it."
"Is that so? Why would that happen out of the blue? Who would dare to stop your car? Wait, are you trying to head for Jingzhou?" Zhang Cheng-Hu spoke quizzically over the phone. "That's right," said Li Er.
"Master Er, there's nothing I can do about it. Something's happened in Jingzhou, and even the army has sent men there. Since these are unusual times, it's normal for traffic to be controlled. There is nothing I can do, even if I wanted to help. This was done by the government and the army. I am just a nobody, so there's no way I can stop them," said Zhang Cheng-Hu apologetically.
Li Er looked even angrier. "It seems I'm not important enough for you to help. Let me tell you. Mr Chu is in my car now, so do what you have to."
What?
"M-Mr Chu is in your car too?" Zhang Cheng-Hu's face instantly blanched when he heard his name, and he nearly dropped his phone.
Reputation was everything!
Did Li Er have a strong reputation?
He certainly had a strong reputation.
In terms of power, Li Er was highly respected by all the powers of Jiangdong.
However, Li Er certainly couldn't compare to Mr Chu.
After all, Mr Chu's reputation was paved in slaughter and blood.
Ye Fan was like a god in Jiangdong, so all the rich and powerful of Jiangdong quaked in fear when they heard his name.
