But Bill, the head of the Jones family, stayed back.

"Congrats on your success and being appointed as the head of the Chu Sect. Don't forget about us once you've made a name for yourself!" Bill said.

Bill was trying to get in his good books, as the Jones family was the least powerful family in the Chu Sect.

Bill felt he might cling onto Chu Zhengliang, as the latter had a high chance of becoming the next head of Chu Sect.

He was counting on Chu Zhengliang to take the Jones family to the next level.

Upon hearing that, Chu Zhengliang grinned and shook his head. "Don't take what they said too seriously."

"Do you remember those old folks had once said they'd never elect Tang Yun to become the head of Chu Sect? In the end, the position still went to Tang Yun," he added.

Chu Zhengliang took a sip of the tea and explained, "Over the years, Tang Yun might not have excelled as the head of the sect, but he didn't make any mistakes either."

He had also lost support from the top brass." "Even the Tangs had expressed dismay over his leadership. If need be, some are ready to betray him. All in all, the Chu Sect is only one step away from deposing Tang Yun," he added.

"So you see, there's a high chance you might succeed him as the head of the Chu Sect," Bill pressed his voice and explained the current situation to Chu Zhengliang.

"Is that so?" Upon hearing Bill's analysis, Chu Zhengliang got serious.

Chu Zhengliang was a man who would never settle for ordinary. He was too ambitious to remain a follower for the rest of his life.

He had never given up on his ambition, even though he had to concede defeat when his brother became the head of the Chu family years ago.

manner.

"All right." Bill responded with a grin.

He then turned his attention to Chu Qitian and smiled at him. "Qitian seems to have grown taller and has become a handsome and mature man. The last time I met you, I believe you were an infant who had just learned howto walk, right?"

"How old are you now, by the way?" Bill asked.

"I'm twenty-one years old this year," Chiu Qitian answered.

"You're twenty-one years old? Wow, it's about time to get married." Bill let out a laugh.

He then turned to Chu Zhengliang and grinned. "I guess it's about time for us to look into a marriage arrangement?"

Chu Zhengliang nodded and replied, "I've been waiting to discuss this with you for quite some time. From what I know, Angie will be turning eighteen next year. We should sit down and discuss the wedding date now. It might be a little too late if we only start making preparation next year."

Upon hearing that, Bill waved his hand in the air. "Let's not wait till next year. Let's settle their wedding this year. How about next month?"

"Next month?" Chu Qitian was taken aback by the date Bill proposed.

"What's wrong? Don't you want to marry Angie?" Bill's eyes widened upon noticing Chu Qitian's reaction.

Chu Qitian immediately shook his head. "No, no, no. That's not what I meant. It's a blessing for me to marry a beautiful woman like Angie. I'm just afraid we might not be able to give Angie the wedding she has been dreaming of if this wedding takes place in haste."

"Don't worry about it! The wedding is the least of Angie's worries. She just wants to marry you, and that's what she cares about the most! As for the wedding invitation, we'll get someone to do the job. Everything should be ready in a month." It was as if Bill had everything in control.

At Bill's insistence, the two families agreed to hold Chu Qitian's and Angie's wedding next month.

He looked at his father with a smug smile. "You're such an influential man, Dad. The Jones family is eager to proceed with the wedding, all because of you."
