A Dish Best Served Cold (The Man In Rage) -
Chapter 1590
"Sure!" Angie acknowledged before launching another punch with all her might.
Boom!
The devastating punch unleashed a shockwave at the same time.
All of a sudden, dust was thrown up from the ground while leaves were scattered in the air.
"Hmm?"
"Given the intensity of the power, it doesn't seem like Terminal Level to me. Nevertheless, such power exceeds that of an Innate Martial Artist."
Furrowing his brows, Nuo stroked his beard in deep thought.
"It seems that there can only be one explanation."
"Angie, you're likely born with innate power."
"Innate power?" Blinking her eyes, Angie was visibly confused.
"It means that your strength far exceeds that of your peers. In other words, someone of the same level as you are is no match for you. What you have in your hands is superhuman power. Haha, I didn't expect the Jones family to have someone with as much hidden talent as you do. Once Mr. Jones learns of this, he too will be delighted."
Nuo laughed so heartily that he just couldn't stop.
He felt as if he was a teacher who had discovered that his student was a diamond in the rough.
"Really? Will my father and brother be happy about it?"
Angie couldn't grasp what it meant. To her, it was certainly good news as long as her family was happy about it.
At that moment, Angie looked at Nuo and requested, "All right Mr. Nuo, now that my power has reached Innate Level, you have to teach me more sophisticated martial art techniques as agreed." Worried about her physical condition, Nuo dissuaded her, "I think that's enough for today. Since you have achieved a new level, it's best to get some rest."
"I don't want to. I need to strengthen myself as fast as possible so that I can give him a shock," Angie asserted as she brandished her gentle fists around.
Just as she was speaking, the image of a slender youth emerged in her mind.
She had waited for him for more than a year.
Although she wasn't sure when he would appear, she was certain that he would return and that they would meet again.
"Haha, Angie, who are you trying to impress? Is it your brother or me?"
While Angie and Nuo were chatting, a laughter was heard nearby.
Bill and Michael walked up to them.
"Mr. Jones, Michael," Nuo greeted both of them with a bow.
"Dad, Michael."
Running up to them with a smile, Angie threw herself into her father's arms.
"Dad, Michael, do you know how amazing I am right now? I can kill a bull with a single punch. Can you believe it?"
Angie waved her fists around to show off to her father and brother.
"Stop pulling our legs. How can a girl like you kill a bull with a single strike? In all likelihood, the bull will send you flying instead," Michael retorted as he shook his head with a smile.
"I'm serious. Hmph! How can you not believe me, you ass? Why don't you ask Mr. Nuo instead? He's able to vouch for me."
Angie made an angry face.
"Is it true, Mr. Nuo?" Michael checked with Nuo, as he just couldn't believe his ears.
Nuo replied with a smile, "Michael, it's true. Throughout my years as a martial artist, I have rarely encountered someone as talented as Ms. Jones. Just within a year, she has achieved the strength equivalent o an Innate Martial Artist. Furthermore, she was born with innate power, which wasn't obvious in the beginning. But now that she has begun her training, her talents have started to show
themselves. As long as she maintains her passion for martial arts, she is capable of becoming a Supreme Grandmaster one day."
Smiling from ear to ear, Nuo wasn't stingy in his praise for Angie at all.
However, Bill and Michael were less enthused than Nuo was.
"Dad, what's wrong? Why are you not happy to hear Mr. Nuo praise my skills?"
Angie was baffled by her father's reaction.
"Of course not. As your father, I'm definitely happy to hear how amazing you are." Bill tried to force a smile.
Nevertheless, the disappointment on his face couldn't be more obvious.
Sensing that something was amiss, Angie put her arms on her hips and questioned her father, "Hmph, you're clearly upset. Tell me now, is there something that you're hiding from me?"
"I'm not lying. I'm truly happy for you. I'm just saddened by the thought of you being all grown up now, and one day, you will get married and have
children of yourown," Bill slowly explained.
As for Michael, he didn't say a word despite the gloomy expression on his face.
Sigh!
"Is that all? And here I was, thinking about what could it possibly be? Worse comes to worst, I'll just not get married," Angie comforted her father with a smile.
Bill's eyes suddenly widened.
"What nonsense are you spouting? How can a girl not be married? In fact, I would be smiling in my dreams if my daughter is married to someone as exceptional as the third young master of the Chu family." "The third young master of the Chu family? Who's that?" Angie was stunned.
"I'm not going to marry him. If I were to get married, it would be to someone like "
Angie ranted away gleefully but stopped abruptly when something occurred to her.
At that moment, her face was blushing red while she giggled to herself.
After chatting with Angie for a while longer, Bill and Michael left.
Before they did, Bill hugged his daughter again and reminded her, "Angie, remember to train well, but don't overexert yourself. Or else, you'll end up becoming an ugly girl."
Bill chuckled as if he was joking with her.
After he was done laughing, Bill strangely suggested, "Angie, no matter what happens, you must remember that your brother and I love you."
Just as he spoke, Bill left together with Michael, leaving a confounded Angie behind.
"Mr. Nuo, don't you think both of them are behaving strangely?" Angie asked in curiosity.
There was a minute shift in Nuo's expression as he replied, "Perhaps, they're being weighed down by family affairs."
"Hmm, I figured as much." After looking in the direction of where her father went, Angie continued her training without delving further into the matter.
Before she knew it, the day had passed and it was already sunset.
At that moment, they heard footsteps from outside the compound.
"Hmm? Who goes there?"
Raising his alertness, Nuo pulled Angie behind him and scanned the surroundings vigilantly.
Suddenly, a black figure scaled the wall underneath the rays of the setting sun.
"Wanyu?" Angie exclaimed in surprise when she saw who it was.
The figure who jumped over the wall was none other than Meng Wanyu, one of Angie's few friends. She was also a disciple of the current head of the Chu Sect, Tang Yun. "Wanyu, why are you here? Furthermore, why did you need to climb over the wall to come in?"
Angie was intrigued by how much Wanyu liked to take the non-conventional path.
