Chapter 699 Start of the Wedding Ceremony

"Jian, drive carefully, and remember not to drink at the wedding," Ye Tian instructed Ye Jian outside the house. The rest of the Ye family came to see them off.

Ye Jian was Ye Ya's son, and had just returned from a fun trip to the city. He was going to attend Qin Yu's wedding with Ye Yu-Yan.

"Uncle Tian, don't worry, I'm a good river," said Ye Jian from the driver's seat. He had a pair of sunglasses on, his hair was slicked back and was dressed like a trendy young man.

Ye Jian then turned to look at Ye Yu-Yan seated at the back, "Yu-Yan, do you have everything with you?"

"Yup. We can go." Ye Yu-Yan continued to look as cold and authoritative as ever as she waved her hands to tell Ye Jian that they could leave.

But Old Master Ye called after them. "Jian, don't go. Bring Fan along. All of you went to school together, so you should call Fan along to Qin Yu's wedding."

What?

"You want Ye Fan to go? Grandpa, don't make things difficult. He's a live-in son-in-law, so he's only going to be an embarrassment. Enough Grandpa, Yu-Yan and I have to go," replied Ye Jian in annoyance when he hear his grandfather tell him to call Ye Fan along.

Without waiting for an answer from his grandfather, Ye Jian drove off.

"I didn't expect Ye Fan to have the cheek to come back. He's a live-in son-in-law and he came back for Lunar New Year? What a disgrace," scoffed Ye Jian coldly as he drove.

Ye Jian never got along with Ye Fan since they were children, and Ye Fan even broke his leg back then.

It had been so many years but he still remembered this.

Ye Jian thought that after Ye Fan married into his wife's family, he would probably be too embarrassed to ever come home

again.

But Ye Fan actually came back this year.

Ye Jian continued to mumble to himself and Ye Yu-Yan didn't bother to talk to him.

She couldn't be bothered with Ye Fan.

"By the way, Yu-Yan, I forgot to ask you. Do you know who Qin Yu's bride is? I'm not very close to him so I really don't know anything about this wedding," asked Ye Jian curiously. Ye Yu-Yan replied calmly, "It's Du Wen-Ya."

"What? Du Wen-Ya? Oh my god, isn't that the girlfriend of Ye Fan's buddy? HAHA!

Qin Yu's amazing! He snatched the woman of that fat asshole! That feels good!" Ye Jian was immediately elated to hear this and felt so gleeful inside.

Back then, Ye Fan and Shin Yu-Xiang had beaten him up quite a bit.

Now that he was hearing that Shin Yu-Xiang's girlfriend was marrying someone else, Ye Jian was more than happy.

"Back in school, I always felt that stupid fat asshole wasn't worthy of Wen-Ya. Wen-Ya was good in her studies, her parents were teachers, and she's pretty and very well-liked. But that fat asshole? He never got a proper job. The fact that he got a girlfriend like Wen-Ya made me so freaking jealous."

"But heaven is fair after all! I feel so vindicated now. I guess that fat asshole must be crying his eyes out at home now!" Ye Jian laughed merrily and he was feeling so good now.

Ye Yu-Yan just laughed quietly and shook her head.

Birds of a feather flock together. Ye Fan's friend couldn't be anything good either.

She agreed that Du Wen-Ya was lucky to marry Qin Yu instead of Shin Yu-Xiang.

As they chatted, Ye Jian soon drove into the city and reached the wedding venue, Longjing Restaurant.

"Yu-Yan, you're here. This must be your cousin, Ye Jian, right?" Qin Yu was in a suit and tie outside the restaurant to welcome Ye Yu-Yan once he heard that she had come.

"Qin Yu, it's been a long time but you still remember me! But you're really amazing, your wedding is actually being held at Longjing Restaurant! As far as I know, this restaurant belongs to the Lei family of Jingzhou, right? It's usually only available for the super-rich and powerful. Not that many people in all of Jingzhou can have their wedding at Master Lei San's restaurant, right?" exclaimed Ye Jian as he looked at Longjing Restaurant.

Qin Yu immediately felt pride rising from his heart, but his words remained humble, "Haha, Ye Jian, you're exaggerating. My family isn't good enough to book Longjing Restaurant. All this is thanks to my friend who's part of the Lei family. I used my connections with him to book the most luxurious restaurant in Jingzhou!"

Longjing Restaurant belonged to the Lei family, so it was an extremely luxurious restaurant.

Anybody who could step into the restaurant was definitely someone rich and powerful.

Also, they never allowed wedding bookings.

But of course, there were always exceptions.

The last time they made an exception was three years ago when the son of the mayor of Jingzhou got married. Qin Yu had become the second exception.

Of course he was feeling proud!

Ye Jian was even more surprised to hear this. "Oh my god, Qin Yu, you know someone from the Lei family?"

"That's right. He should be here today too. I'll introduce you guys later," said Qin Yu with a smile.

Time went by and all the guests had arrived.

Qin Feng looked at the time. "It's about time, give the in-laws a call. Tell them that we can start the ceremony."

At this time, some makeup artists were in a room trying to touch up a young lady's makeup.
