A One Night Stand With My Boss ( Maia Sanchez ) -
Chapter 366
"I guess I'm joining you for a drink," she said, with a playful wink.
Connor's gaze never wavered, his eyes filled with affection and an unmistakable desire.
Camila ignored his intense stare and served some food onto his plate. "Eat up. At this rate, you're not even having dinner; it's more like a midnight snack. Keep dragging it out, and it'll turn into breakfast." Connor chuckled, taking a bite of the food Camila had served, savoring it slowly.
Throughout the meal, Camila kept serving him, ensuring a good balance of meat and vegetables.
"Why are you being so nice to me?" he asked.
Camila smiled softly. "I can't always take your care for granted. We're equals."
"It doesn't have to be equal. I'll always take care of you," Connor said earnestly.
Camila looked up at him, a slight curl on her lips. "You should take care of yourself first. Skipping dinner like this, I'm bound to lose weight if I follow your meal schedule."
Connor laughed quietly. "When have you ever missed a meal with me around?"
Thinking about it, Camila realized he was right.
Connor put down his fork, his eyes glinting mischievously. "You losing weight isn't from skipping meals. Experts say intimate activities burn 100 calories every 30 minutes. Calculate how much you've burned recently?" Camila's face turned red instantly. She shot him a stern look.
How could he say such things so casually!
Seeing her embarrassed, Connor was amused and gently pinched her flushed cheek.
"Let's take care of each other forever," he whispered.
Looking into his sincere eyes, Camila's heart fluttered. He said he loved her, and she believed him, but for how long, she couldn't be sure.
He was always pampering her, never short of sweet words.
Camila wanted to believe it could last a lifetime, yet she dared not be too certain.
She spoke in a calm tone. "My

Connor, feeling her pain, held her hand tightly.
"When I was young, we were poor, and my mom had few ways to make a living. A kind old lady taught her how to make dumplings. So, every day before dawn, my mom would push her dart out to the street to sell them was only 3 or 4 then, and I often woke up in the middle of the night to find her gone. I would cry for hours. It broke her heart, but she had to make money to support us. She bought me a doll to cuddle as a substitute for her presence. Even as I grew older, I felt secure only when I held 'Mom'."
Camila had never shared these details with anyone, not even Erica.
"It's okay. From now on, you can hold on to me when you sleep. I'll always be with you."
Connor didn't know how deeply his words touched her.
He moved closer, wrapping her in his arms.
"I need you too."
Camila hugged him back, craving more intimacy and security.

Connor sipped some red wine and then gently fed it to Camila.
Her eyes locked on his, she slowly swallowed the wine.
"Through thick and thin, for a lifetime," Connor whispered softly, his promise and vow to Camila.
Their eyes locked, each seeing only the other.
In that moment, Camila was willing to believe him, through thick and thin, forever.
