Following his discharge, Jessie hadn’t revisited nor contacted him.

Within the villa’s upstairs master bedroom, Albert donned a white shirt, its hem loosely untucked from his trousers, epitomizing casual dress.

He stationed himself by the French window, phone in hand.

Amidst his hesitation to dial Jessie, the door swung open, and Jeslyn, clad in a charming skirt, scampered over, proclaiming, “Daddy, Elsie’s taking me out for ice cream!”

Upon hearing her words, Albert’s brow furrowed slightly.

Elsie stood by the door, offering a warm smile.

“I found this amazing spot on Ocean Avenue.

They have ice creams, desserts and everything.

Since it’s scorching outside, and Miss Jeslyn wasn’t feeling too good, I figured I’d treat her to some.

Albert nodded in agreement, but when Elsie moved to take Jeslyn with her, he intervened.

“Did you just say Ocean Avenue?”

That place happened to be only one block away from Jessie’s studio.

Elsie confirmed, “Yes!”

Albert chimed in, “Let me take Jeslyn then.

Elsie shook her head.

“Mr.

Waston, you’re still recovering.

The doctor said you need to rest at home for at least another two weeks before going out.

But Albert was insistent.

Jeslyn wrinkled her nose and piped up, “Daddy must be thinking about Jessie again.

He waits for her every day, but she never calls him.

Elsie finally caught on, but she was still concerned.

Nevertheless, they all ended up going out together in the end.

They treated Jeslyn to some ice cream.

Noticing Albert’s weary appearance, Elsie suggested they head back home, but Albert calmly declined.

“I

hardly ever get out these days.

Let’s make the most of our time with Jeslyn!”

Jeslyn thought Albert was being a bit hypocritical.

She knew Albert was keen to go out and see Jessie, yet he was pretending it was all about spending time with her.

Deep down, she missed Jessie too.

But she couldn’t help but feel a bit miffed by Jessie’s aloofness.

It had been days and Jessie hadn’t even bothered to check in on her! Jeslyn resolved that when they finally met up, she would give Jessie an earful.

The car pulled up outside Jessie’s studio.

The three of them sat in the car, waiting.

Jessie exited work earlier than usual that day, heading downstairs with a sense of relief.

However, her solitude was interrupted by the approach of a young single father.

He was the talk of the campus, the youngest professor at Duefron University, having lost his wife tragically in a car accident a few years back.

He found out Jessie was single now and wanted to pursue her.

Before he could utter a word, a shadow loomed over them, and a voice cut through the air.

“Sorry, I’m here to pick up my wife.
