A Second Chance With My Billionaire Love -
Chapter 3852
Despite the lighthearted banter, Leonel’s hands trembled as he slid the ring onto her finger… The process felt slow, much Like their past replaying in his mind.
They had known each other for over three decades, having met at the tender age of six.
If all went well, they would still be together for another three decades and more.
After placing the ring on her finger, Leonel murmured in a trembling voice, “Alexis, please guide me through the rest of our Lives.
”
Alexis gazed at the plain yet elegant ring on her finger.
“I designed it myself.
Alexis, please help me put mine on,” Leonel urged.
Taking the man’s ring, Alexis looked up at him and slowly slid it onto his finger… As she pushed it to the end, Leonel lowered his head and lightly ki*sed her, his voice hoarse with emotion.
“Alexis, you’re mine again at last.
”
Alexis playfully pulled his hand.
“From now on, you’re part of the Fowler family.
You have to embody the virtues of a devoted husband, you know?”
Leonel smiled warmly.
“Let’s go get married.
”
After that, they drove to the cemetery to visit Calvin.
It was a cold winter day, the surroundings desolate and devoid of life, especially in the cemetery.
A handful of daisies added a touch of vitality.
Alexis squatted down, dusted off the photo on the tombstone, and spoke softly.
“It’s still chilly these days.
But soon, spring will arrive, and this place will be filled with your favorite flowers.
Birds will sing to you, but I wonder if you can hear them.
”
She felt a pang of sadness.
Calvin had departed so young, without experiencing marriage.
Alexis stood quietly beside the tombstone.
In the bright sunlight, her wedding ring gleamed on her finger, matching the one worn by Leonel standing beside her.
Though she didn’t explicitly mention her marriage, Calvin would have known since she came with Leonel.
In front of Calvin’s grave, she continued to talk, while Leonel went back to the car to fetch some tools.
He loosened the nearby soil and planted a maple tree himself, saying that when the branches grew Lush, it would be a home for Calvin.
They spent a considerable amount of time at the cemetery.
By the time they returned to the hospital, dusk had settled.
Waylen awaited anxiously, concerned about his granddaughter’s well-being and eager for her name to be changed back.
Upon seeing the paperwork, he breathed a sigh of relief and then asked where they had been the whole afternoon.
“Dad, we got married,”
Leonel said with a smile, showing his ring to Waylen, who paused, staring at the them for a long moment before managing to speak.
“You got married just like that?”
He then glanced at the wedding ring on his daughter’s finger and couldn’t hide his skepticism.
“Isn’t it too simple, Leonel? Is your company facing financial difficulties? For such an important occasion, there isn’t even a single diamond in the ring! If you’re short on money, let me and Rena prepare a proper dowry for Alexis!”
