Chapter 411 Visiting May Shen in Prison

Ada Bai had survived from the jaws of death for many times, yet today she was caught by Charles. Or rather, she was trapped by Linda.

An underling of Ada didn't want to cave in to the fact that they were captured, so she shouted, "Is this how the noble Young Master of the Mu clan acts? You have given your word to let us go, but you have broken your promise."

Charles found the accusation quite ridiculous. A moment ago, they were planning to abduct Linda, but now, they were questioning his decency to fulfill what he had promised.

But he didn't have to explain to them because

Ada stopped her right away. "Adal Bai, shut up, and save your breath."

Then, Ada and her underlings were taken away. Just now, Ada had called one by the name of Adal Bai. Their names were so alike, and they even shared a same surname, so they must have been related to each other. Perhaps they were siblings! This unexpected incident had finally come to a conclusion. Charles and the others were finally relieved.

Just as the clock was about to strike 6:18 PM, Charles heard a sudden gunshot from the dressing room, which freaked him out. He was very much worried that Linda was the one who got assaulted. Luckily, she wasn't hurt. Or else, he would have suffered an emotional breakdown.

He could no longer take the pain of losing her again.

"Honey, your safety matters the most. Now that we're done with this whole mess, let's go to the venue. The wedding is about to start."

"Okay, are the guests all right? It's already past 6:18 PM, which was supposed to be the perfect time to hold the wedding. Shall we continue to do this?"

"Yes, we will. It's all right. I have hired two planners for the wedding. The staff of the first planner turned out to be problematic, hence the situation you were in, but I have had them all under control now. Now, we will use the second one. I have postponed the wedding to 6:38 PM. It's going to be all right."

"Okay, that's good to hear!" Linda could rest assured that Charles would have everything in place.

Even though he had made back-up preparations, Charles still slipped with the first planner's assassin hairdressers.

It was around 6:35 PM when they had returned to the wedding venue.

Weddings were glorious and sacred moments in the eyes of women. Although something unfortunate had happened earlier, Linda was not at all affected by it.

Right now, she was extremely excited. Charles, clad in a traditional wedding robe, emerged as an extremely handsome prince. Together with Linda's phoenix coronet and cheongsam, they looked like the perfect couple.

Two couples were getting married today- Charles and Linda, and Bonny and Brian. The latter one was kept as a secret, so when the host invited them up to the stage, everyone present at the wedding were quite shocked. The Ho clan was among the four major clans. Why didn't his family come to his wedding? Were they unwilling to accept this marriage union? But Brian was content as long as Bonny was by his side.

After all those things, Brian only wished to spend the rest of his life with Bonny. He had already regarded her as his lifelong partner.

They would be together, forever, till death would they part.

As Linda was relishing this joyful occasion, Lisa chose to visit her mother May Shen who was in prison.

Lisa had made prior inquiries about her mother's whereabouts, but she was occupied by the urgent matters she had to deal with. Now that she looked exactly the same as Linda, it would be easy for her to get into the prison. The security guards in the prison had seen Linda before, and they were familiar with her.

"Hello, Mrs. Mu. What has brought you here today?" The warden even came in person to welcome Linda upon receiving the message.

"Is there a woman named May Shen confined here? I've come here to visit her, " Lisa said in a feigned, calm voice.

"May Shen? Please wait a moment. I'll go and check the records right away."

The warden returned a few minutes later to report his findings. "Please wait for a minute. The prisoners are engaged in labor works. I will bring her to you immediately. Please wait in the visiting room."

"Don't bother. I want to go inside and have a look at her current cell. Is that all right? I will wait for her there," Lisa told the warden.

"Certainly, May Shen lives in a solitary cell at present. I remembered that someone has given an order to transfer her to solitary." The warden let her in without much questioning. He was under the impression that Lisa was Mrs. Mu.

Who was kind enough to have ordered the assignment of her mother to solitary?

She didn't believe that it was Linda. After all, Linda was the one who put her mother in prison.

Was it her father?

Lisa thought of Johnson Xia with sadness. He was not her biological father. Her biological father was the housekeeper of the Xia clan.

Johnson Xia, the man who had loved and pampered her since her childhood, was no longer her father. He had grown to like Linda more, and he paid little attention to Lisa after Linda came back home. As a result, Lisa's hatred toward Linda brewed and grew. She tried not to think too much for now. She simply went to the cell to wait for her mother there.

Upon setting foot on the cell, Lisa's eyes brimmed with tears. This place was so terrible! Although it was clean, no windows were inside the cell.

Lisa looked around the room. She figured that there was no air-conditioning unit, either. How would her mother make it through those cold winters and hot summers?

The cell was too simple, equipped with only a single bed and a quilt. There was no table for her toiletries; they could only be placed beside the sink.

Yet being in solitary was a good thing in the prison. If it hadn't been for the words of some anonymous person, her mother wouldn't have been able to receive such preferential treatment.

May was doing her needlework. Everyone in the prison had to work to improve themselves for more than five hours each day.

May did her bit of work every afternoon.

"No. 3718, there is a person of rank who has come here to see you. Go to your cell quickly. You don't have to work this afternoon."

'A person of rank? Is it Johnson Xia?'

He had come over here once, but he hadn't shown up since then. He had told her that he would get her out. But now, he might have already forgotten her, or perhaps Linda had stopped him from doing so.
