Alpha Queen -
Chapter 47
Liviana’s POV
“The King” I said and Luan froze in place.
I clenched my fists.
The nightmare was so vivid that I wondered if it was a dream at all.
Or a vision…
Luan’s father commanded his men to attack my pack and kill all my people in front of me.
That was my dream.
I looked at Luan and he seemed to be in a daze.
Can I still trust?
It was a dream, yes.
But with everything that is happening, I’m not so sure anymore really.
I moved farther away from Luan and he finally snapped back to reality.
I gave him a look.
Just when we started to get along well and this happens.
“Liviana” he called out softly as he tried to reach out to me but I back away.
I saw his hurt expression and my heart clenched.
“I would never let anything happen to you or your pack, Liviana. I hope you know that” he said calmly.
“He’s your father” I said and Luan sighed.
“Yes but I never had a good relationship with my father. I will never let him do anything that will harm you. Never” he said and I sensed that he wasn’t lying and that he genuinely meant what he said.
“Please, believe me. I can go against my father if I needed to, Liviana. All for you” he said and I sighed before going closer to him again.
He pulled me to him and hugged me.
I let him.
“I’m willing to do anything to protect you, Liviana. I won’t let anyone harm you. Not even my own father” he whispered.
I caressed Luan’s back as he rested his chin on my shoulder.
“Okay” I muttered and he tightened his hug around me.
Luan buried his face on my neck and I felt tingles all over my body.
I gulped.
We stayed like that for a moment until we decided to go back to sleep together.
Luan held me close to him and I knew he was trying to calm himself down after the information I gave him.
He really might not have a good relationship with his father but that still doesn’t change the fact who he is to him.
His family.
But I trust Luan enough to believe him that he means no harm and wants to protect me.
And I drift off to sleep.
I wake up to the knock on the door but I don’t see Luan beside me.
Did he already leave?
The door to my room opened revealing Edmond.
“Good morning, Livi” he greeted and I gave him a small smile.
“Morning” I said.
“Did you sleep well?” he asked but I didn’t answer.
“Did Luan leave already?” I asked him instead. He shook his head.
“He’s with El in the training grounds. He’s been there before dawn, I think” he said and I nodded before getting off my bed and heading to the bathroom to shower before going out.
I showered and changed into my training clothes before going downstairs.
“Livi!” Ellie squealed when she saw me and came running to me.
I caught her in my arms and spun her around as she giggled in delight.
“Good morning” she said cheerfully and planted a k**s on my cheek.
“Good morning, little one. I missed you” I said and Ellie hugged me by my neck.
“I missed you too, Livi” she said sweetly and I smiled.
I headed to the kitchen with Ellie still on my arms. Theresa was already there along with the cooks.
“Good morning, Alpha” they greeted.
“Good morning. Have you all eaten breakfast yet?” I asked them.
“Yes, Alpha” they answered and Theresa served me a plate of breakfast.
“Do you…know if Luan already had breakfast?” I asked her. Theresa smiled a little.
“I don’t think so” she said with a teasing smile. I bit my lower l*p and looked away making her chuckle.
“I’ll get him first to eat breakfast” I casually said.
“I want to come with you, Livi” Ellie said and I nodded.
“Theresa?” I said asking permission if I can take Ellie with me. She nodded.
I put down Ellie and we walked out of the pack house together.
“Livi, do you like Luan?” Ellie suddenly asked.
Yes.
“Why did you ask?” I said trying to avoid the question.
“Because I asked El why he’s always here and El said it’s because he likes you. Do you like him too, Livi?” she asked innocently.
I chuckled nervously.
“You’re a curious one aren’t you?” I said booping her nose.
“I’ll tell you when you’re older” I simply said and she pouted but didn’t complain.
We reached the training grounds and saw my guards and warriors training.
I looked around to find Luan but didn’t see him.
“Liviana” Dante approached us.
He planted a k**s on the top of my head.
“How are you feeling?” he asked worried.
“Better. How’s the training going?” I asked.
And where’s my mate?
“It’s good. They’ve all improved a lot” he said and I nodded.
“Where’s El?” I asked Dante.
“He’s there” he said and pointed out to the farther left. I nodded again and Ellie and I made our way there quietly as everyone trained.
We finally saw El and I also saw Luan with him.
I almost sighed in relief.
“Livi” El said and Luan turned to look at me.
Then everyone else turned to look at me and Alex finally saw me and halted the training.
“Good morning, Alpha” Alex said.
“Good morning, Alpha” everyone else followed.
I gave them a nod.
“Good morning. You can continue with your training” I said and glanced at Alex. He nodded and continued with their training.
I faced Luan.
“You didn’t have breakfast” I stated anf he chuckled.
“Did you come all the way here for that?” he teased. I playfully rolled my eyes.
“You wish. Now, come with” I said and pulled him out of there with Ellie.
“Livi wants to eat with you” Ellie blurted out making me cough.
I didn’t say that.
Luan laughed.
“Did she now?” he said and gave me a teasing grin.
“I didn’t say that” I defended myself. Luan chuckled.
“Sure” he said and intertwined our hands.
I felt the tingles all over my body again.
Luan carried Ellie with his other hand while we held hands.
My mind said to pull away.
But my heart said otherwise.
Amaris was very pleased to be so intimate with him.
We reached the pack house and went to the kitchen where we were served with breakfast.
“Alpha, your human friends are seeking entrance” a guard mind linked me.
“Let them in” I replied.
I’m sure Blake and Katie know what happened to me because I was gone for a week.
“I’m going back at my place after breakfast. I need to settle a few things” Luan suddenly said.
I raised a brow at him curiously.
“Does it have anything to do with my dream?” I asked him. He sighed and nodded.
“Yes. I want to make sure that my father can’t get to you no matter what. He can be…cunning. I don’t want to risk it. I don’t trust him” he said the last part almost in a whisper. I nodded and reached out for his hand.
Luan and I stared into each other’s eyes. He smiled and brought my hands to his lips kissing it.
“Please let me protect you” he said and my heart started to beat faster.
I gave him a small smile and nodded.
“Okay” I said and we heard a loud squeal.
There stood Blake and Katie looking at the both of us as Luan held my hand.
Oh.
