Alpha Queen
Chapter 49

Liviana’s POV

“Livi, are you sure you’re going to be okay? THEY WILL FIND OUT about your moon mark with the obvious shift in your aura” Edmond whispered when he pulled me to a vacant room.

“Then should I send them away instead?” I asked him. He closed his eyes and massaged his temple in frustration.

“No, of course not but then what if word gets around? Livi, every wolf in Lunar will treat you like a specimen in a museum” Edmond said with a sigh.

To some other wolf, they’d be more than ecstatic to bear the moon goddess’ mark. It was an extremely rare occurrence.

But considering my situation, I’d rather not be feast upon by every wolf in Lunar.

Imagine…

I became acting Alpha at 16 after my ‘father’ left for a mission.

Then I took over the position at 18.

What’s the problem with that you ask?

One, Alphas are supposed to be atleast at the age of 21 to claim the title.

Two, I was the first she-wolf to become Alpha because every other Alpha in Lunar are males.

Three, Crest Moon pack is one of the biggest packs there is in the territory. A lot of wolves who yearn for power will surely take interest in the pack.

Either the other wolves will see me as a complete pushover or they will see me as their biggest threat.

Some may even try to come for my title for their own recognition and the fact that I bear the moon goddess’ mark adds up to their achievement.

So it’s not good news at all.

“I don’t trust them fully but they are in depth to us as they said. For now, we can’t do anything about it but before I meet up with the other Alphas again, I will think of something to do with…” I paused trying to find the right word to describe my situation but failed.

“This” I just said with a sigh.

“I’m worried, Livi” Edmond said softly. I have him an assuring smile.

“I’ll be okay, Edmond. I’m more worried about the pack more than anything else” I said and he sighed.

I took a deep breath as I looked at the door.

To be honest, I’m scared.

Terrified even.

What others might see as a blessing seemed like a curse to me.

I mean no disrespect to the moon goddess, but the situation she has put me in isn’t very…wise.

I’d have to ask her after this why she had to put her mark on me knowing I’d attract attention which can

I held the door knob to get out but it twisted by itself and then it opened revealing a panting mess who is my uncle Dante.

“What happened to you?” I asked him with my brows furrowed confused.

He stood straight then raised his right hand which held a golden bracelet with a moon charm on it.

“What are you doing with that?” I pointed out to the bracelet.

“Wear it” he said breathlessly.

“What? Why? I don’t like wearing accessories” I said honestly.

Dante shook his head.

“It’s not just an accessory. Wear it, Liviana” he insisted and took my left hand to put the bracelet on.

“I don’t think—” I was about to say something but I suddenly felt like an energy was pulled back somewhere inside of me and I gasped.

It was unfamiliar to me but the feeling was magical and not in a dreamy magical way.

“Livi” Edmond muttered after a few moments and I looked at him.

“It’s gone” Edmond said. My brows furrowed confused.

“What is?” I asked.

“The energy that surrounded you that was from the moon goddess’ mark. It’s gone” he said.

I looked at Dante.

“Is that what this bracelet does? Take away the energy of the mark?” I asked him. He shook his head.

“It’s like the perfume you use. It’s like a mask. It doesn’t really take away the energy. It just hides it” he explained.

“Where did you get it? Livi and I were just talking about trying to find a solution to hiding the energy caused by the mark” Edmond asked curiously.

Dante just chuckled and gave us a small smile.

“Edmond, can you check on our visitors for a moment. I need to talk to my uncle” I said and Edmond nodded before lowering his head to me and leaving the room.

“Where did you get this?” I asked him as I raised my left hand to show the bracelet on my wrist.

“It’s not where. It’s who” he said. I raised a brow at him.

“Then who did you get this from?” I asked again.

“The moon goddess herself” he said casually.

I looked at him wide eyed.

“You’ve met the moon goddess too?” I asked him. He nodded.

“Yes. Who do you think gave me the information about your fathers’ whereabouts?” he said. My mouth gaped open.

All this time, he’s been in contact with the moon goddess herself.

“And you met with her today?” I asked him. He nodded.

“Yes. I didn’t want you to stay in the same room with those men with your energy all over the place that clearly shouts ‘I was marked by the moon goddess’ and attract more attention because that’s troublesome” he said.

“How did you get it?” I asked curiously.

“I reached out to her and asked her to take the mark back but she refused so I had to argue with her how she’s putting you in danger” he said with a shrug.

“You asked HER? and ARGUED with HER?” I asked baffled.

He sounds so casual talking about the moon goddess.

Even I can’t talk about it so casually.

“Yes so instead of taking the mark back, she gave me that to mask the energy caused by her mark” he said.

I massaged the bridge of my nose.

I thought my uncle was just overly protective.

But I guess he’s crazy too.

My dad had the same crazy side like him.

But Dante is a whole different story.

“We’ll talk about this more later on. For now, I have to go and talk to the men from the Northern pack” I said and Dante nodded.

I held the doorknob to the room to get out then turned to look at Dante.

I smiled thankfully and then hugged him.

“I think you’re absolutely crazy for acting so casual with the moon goddess but I’m thankful that I have an uncle like you” I whispered and Dante hugged me back.

“I can do anything for your protection, Liviana. You may be the strongest Alpha in Lunar or the only heir to both territories but you will always be my niece. My brother’s daughter. No matter who and what you choose to be, I’ll always be her as your uncle” he whispered back and I hugged him tighter.

“Thank you” I muttered and Dante planted a k**s on the top of my head.

“Anything for you, princess” he said.

Then we both left the room and I went back to the living room to have a conversation with the Northern pack’s Alpha and his men.

True enough, I saw how the Alpha got confused momentarily probably sensing the sudden shift of my energy and aura.

He didn’t have enough time to figure out what was new to me earlier and now, I have the same aura I did before I was marked by the moon goddess.

Great.
