Chapter 33

Catalina's

POV

I wake up to feel light fingertips on my back. I take a deep breath and breathe in Liam's scent.

"Good morning beautiful." He says in a low husky voice. I tilt my head up to him and smile. He leans down and kisses me. I squeeze him and enjoy the kiss.

"I have to leave, but I wanted to let you wake up first." He says.

"The other Alpha should be here soon." He adds. I nodded and unwrapped from him. He gets out of bed and puts on his clothes. He comes back to the bed and sits next to me.

"I have a dinner with the Alpha tonight. Will you join me? I'd like to introduce you as my mate if that's ok?" He asks.

His mate? I mean I guess I am. I can't pretend I'm not anymore.

"Yes I will join you." I said. He smiles and kisses me.

"It will probably be around 7." He says as he left the room. Literally moments later I hear a knock at the door. I was naked so I told them to hold on. I grabbed my robe and opened the door. I was surprised to see Jet at the door, he looked upset? Hurt? Mad? I couldn't tell but he looked me up and down.

"You missed training." He says. Oh I completely forgot about training.

"But maybe you already had your workout for today." He says, and storms off. That was weird. I watched him walk down the hallway and pass Carrie who looked like she was coming to see me. "What's stuck up Jet's butt?" She asks me.

"I don't know. Liam left and then Jet knocked on the door because I missed training. And then he said maybe I already had my training for today, then stormed off." Then Carrie got a big grin on her face. "What?" I asked. She rolled her eyes and walked past me into my room.

"You are so cute you know that." She said.

"Omg why does your room smell like s*x?" She turns around slowly to me and I'm sure my face was bright red.

“Lina did you and Liam?" She asked. Then I hear her squeal in excitement, why does everyone squeal?

"Finally! It's taken so long for you two to get it together. I need details but not too many, he's still my cousin." She grabs me and pulls me to the bed. I told her about the date and the painting. I told her about the kiss and how things escalated, I skipped the shower part, and I told her he stayed the night. I even told her about the Alpha dinner.

"He's going to introduce you as his mate! LINA! I'm so happy for you both." She really was.

"What are you going to wear? What about your hair? Omg we need to plan!" She jumped up from the bed and straight for my closet. I just sat there giggling. I was not going to stand in her way. She came out with a few options and laid them out. "Carrie what were you saying about Jet?" I asked

"Oh who cares about Jet you have Liam." She says holding up an option to see if she likes it.

"I don't want Jet being mad at me, if I did something." I trail off

"Well Jet is a flirt, because he doesn't have to do much, I mean look at him. Women come to him. I think he thought you'd be the same. He's never really not gotten someone he wants." She said.

"Jet wants me?" I ask shocked

"This is why you are so cute. Yes, he walks you to training everyday. He gives you special attention at training. He always happens to be outside your door when you leave. It's a little stalkerish if I didn't know him." Shes right. How have I not noticed? "What do I do?" I ask.

"Again don't worry about him. When Liam announces you as his mate he'll understand. He's a big boy." She says.

"Have you and Jet ever?" I ask

"Oh no, he wouldn't mess with me, which is why I'm a bit surprised he would mess with you. Liam would destroy him if he touched you." She says. I get that, Alphas are very jealous.

"This is the one I think. It brings out your eyes." She picks a blue dress I haven't worn yet. It's to the knee and tight in the waist. "You don't think it's too formal?" I ask.

"No, because of the length I think you'll be fine. You can always chalk it up to trying to make a good first impression." She places the dress on the bed and puts the other options back. I hear a knock at the door and Carrie goes to answer it. She opens it up to see Sarah. Sarah walks in and looks frustrated.

"Can I hide in here for a bit, something is stuck up Jet's butt and he's like yelling at every warrior he sees, giving them extra work outs." Carrie and I look at each other and start laughing. Sarah looks confused and Carrie proceeds to inform her of what happened today.

"Oh that makes sense now. Lina I'm so excited for you and Alpha Liam. You will be a great Luna, with a mean hook." She says with a smile. They don't know I'm supposed to be more then just a Luna. I'm suppose to be the High Alpha, or whatever that means. I should tell Liam though, he needs to know what he is getting himself into.

"Wait. Don't tell him until he comes back." Kayla said. She really chooses when she wants to be around.

"Lina you ok?" Carrie asks me.

"Yeah sorry I was talking to my wolf."

"When do we get to meet your wolf?" Sarah asks me.

"Oh I'm not sure.. She's been a little secretive lately. I need to see if she will go for a run or something." I say.

"Kayla can we?" I ask her

"Soon. When Liam leaves we can."

"She's says soon."

"Alright, just let us know. My wolf is always down to get out." Carrie says.

"Should we go down for lunch?" I ask trying to change the subject.

"Let's have it brought up." Sarah suggests.

"Fine we'll I'm going to go change into some clothes." I say

"I'll call down for the food." Carrie says.

"Is it safe to get in your bed?" Sarah asks wiggling her eyebrows. Carrie laughs and I blush. I head into the bathroom with out a word and get dressed. When I come out Sarah is laying on top of the covers and Carrie is talking to someone. I join Sarah and turn on the

tv.

"Food will be here soon." Carrie says joining us. It's nice to have friends, I still miss Rachel and often find myself thinking about her. I think about calling her but then I decide against it. Our food arrives and we dig in. Missing breakfast left me hungry. We finish and just spend some girl time hanging out and chatting. I retell the story of my date to them and we talk about the up coming war.

"Do you know who Alpha Liam is meeting with?" I ask.

"I think he said his name is Alpha Franklin, or something like that." I've never heard of him before but that's not unlikely.

"Are you going with them?" I ask Sarah.

"Not this time. He's taking elite through level 5." She says. She was level 4 by now. She was learning quickly.

"Are you bummed?" I ask her.

"A bit, but we'll get added duties while the others are gone so that will be nice." She says.

"There's a small group of elite staying back, I'm pretty sure it's a guard team for you." She adds.

"A guard team? Do I really need that?" I ask, I could take on whoever came, I think.

"I think it's for Liam's peace of mind." Carrie adds. She's probably right.

"They better be better fighters than me." I say and they both laugh.

"So should we get you ready for tonight? Go take a shower and I'll do your hair when you get out." Carrie says. I get up and head to the shower. I wash my hair and my body. Then I dry myself off and put on a robe. I sit down and Carrie does my hair. When she's done I get dressed. Carrie is trying to convince me to put on makeup. I agree to a minimal amount. She does my eyebrows, mascara, and some lipstick.

"Ok that's enough! I really don't want to wear too much." I say.

"Well lucky for you because you don't need much." Sarah says. I smile.

"Thanks."

"Well you are all ready for your Alpha." Carrie says facing me to the mirror. I looked pretty good actually. We hear a knock at my door. Sarah answered it and opened it to Liam. He stepped in the room and stopped when he saw me. He's never seen me all done up. He has a big smile on his face. "Lina you look.." he trails of and walks over to me.

"Ladies could you excuse us for a moment?" He asks without taking his eyes off me. I hear the door close and Liam's mouth is on mine. He lifts me up and my dress hicks up as I wrap my legs around him. "Liam" I try and pull back.

"Liam" I say again and our foreheads rest against each other.

"I'm sorry you look so beautiful and I've been thinking about you all day. You have proved very distracting during my meetings." He says. I smile.

"I'm glad you think I look beautiful. But I won't have you messing me up before I've had a chance to show others." I say. He does a low growl.

"Maybe I don't want others to see." He says raising an eyebrow. I giggle and he lets me down. He kisses my forehead.

"Since you want people to see how lucky I am, let's not keep them waiting." Liam grabs my hand and we head for the door when we open it, Carrie and Sarah jump back from the door. They were spying.

"Ladies." Liam says giving them a smirk. They giggle and we head down stairs. When we get downstairs there are 3 men I don't know, Jerry, Jet, and 2 older women I didn't know. We walked to the two older women, I noticed Jet staring at me but I try to ignore it. He will learn I'm Liam's tonight.

"Mother." Liam says hugging one of the women. She had sandy blonde hair and blue eyes, and she has a comforting smile.

"Liam I haven't seen you in so long." She hugs him back.

"I know I'm sorry. But I want you to meet my mate, Catalina." He says

"Oh my son she's beautiful." She takes my hands.

"Tell me dear what is your last name."

"Black." I say

"Oh dear, your poor family. At least you are from an Alpha family. I'm so happy my son has found a second chance." She pulls me in for a hug. She pulls back and smiles.

"This is my mother Susan." Carrie says about the other older woman.

"It's lovely to meet you Catalina. Carrie has told us so much about you." Susan says and we shake hands.

"We will go take our seats." Liam's mother says, and she walks into the dinning area. It has been made up for one table and no one else is here.

"Liam what's your mother's name?" I whisper realizing I never got it.

"Violet." He whispers back. I really liked that name. We turn to the men left in the room. Jet still staring, it's making me uncomfortable now. The Alpha sees that we are ready and comes over.

"Catalina I would like to introduce you to Alpha Francis. Francis this is my mate Catalina." Alpha Francis takes my hand and kisses the back of it.

"The pleasure is mine. Liam I didn't know you had a mate. She is beautiful." Well he is complimentary.

"Well it's new. And she is the most beautiful." Liam says. I glance over to Jet and his face is red and he is not looking at me anymore, but Liam. Liam doesn't notice.

"Ah new mates, it will be hard to be separated." Alpha Francis says.

"We'll be alright Francis." Liam says a bit sternly. They give each other a look I can't decipher.

"I'm sure you will be. Catalina let me introduce you to my son Brandon and my Beta Henderson." He gestures to the two men standing next to him. Brandon shakes my hand and the Beta bows to me.

"Nice to meet you all." I say and Brandon smiles at me like he wants to eat me alive.

What is going on?

"Gentlemen shall we eat?" Liam asks, and Alpha Francis nods. Liam leads me to the seat next to him, Liam sits at the head of table. Alpha Francis takes the seat opposite of Liam. Liam's mother is across from me and Carrie is next to Alpha Francis. Jet took the seat next to me. Brandon sits next to Liam's mother. Great all the creepers in my line of sight. The food is served and people are talking to themselves, Liam is talking to his mother when Jet leans in to me.

"So you're Liam's mate?" He asks. He sounded skeptical and not looking away from his food. "Yes I am." I whisper

"She's my mate Jet, is there a problem?" Liam said low so others wouldn't hear but with the command behind it.

"No Alpha. Just surprised I'm just now hearing of it." Jet also said low but clear. Brandon eyes the exchange. When I glanced up at him he raised his eyebrows up and down at me and smiled. I looked back down at my food. I didn't know where to look. Liam grabbed my hand and leaned towards me.

"Are you ok?" He asks me.

"I feel like I am a fish in a fish tank and everyone is staring at me." Liam glances up at Brandon, who was staring at me, Francis, who was staring at us, Jet, who was side eyeing us. I heard a low growl come out of Liam. Liam stands and slams his hands on the table. "Why is everyone staring at my mate?" He looks around the table.

"Liam I think we're just all a little curious." Alpha Francis says calmly.

"Be that as it may, your son's gaze is making her uncomfortable and Jet if you have something to say to my mate you better be able to say it to us both. If you are going to be the Beta you need to move past whatever you had in your mind." Liam gave Jet a look. "Brandon, I will stop bringing you to meetings if you can't control yourself." Alpha Francis gives Brandon a look and Brandon sits up straighter.

"I'm sorry Alpha Liam, Catalina, father. Please accept my apologies." Brandon says looking stern. Liam nodded and turned to Jet.

"I'm sorry as well Alpha. I am surprised is all. You are correct I will move past it. I apologize Catalina, Alpha." Jet says.

Liam nods and sits back down. He takes my hand again and everyone goes back to eating. I want run away and hide but I know that's not an option. After a while talking picks up again. Thank goddess the meal was coming to an end. When it was officially over we said goodbye to everyone and we made our way upstairs. When we got to my room we went inside.

"Lina I'm sorry that was awkward. No one knows about us yet and people think it's suspicious. We need to have a formal announcement but we have to wait until after the war. I promise we'll do it right." He says grabbing my hands. His face looks concerned.

"It's fine, I understand." I said. I mean it was my fault that we have been taking things slow. I wanted to pretend to be normal and not some High Alpha. But I needed to stop that and embrace who I am. Starting with Liam. If Kayla says to lean in, then I will. "I guess I'll leave you to get ready for bed." Liam says and he turns to the door. I grab his hand.

"Stay" is all I had to say. Liam wrapped me up and kissed me. I was lost in our kiss. I will lean in to him completely. I wrapped my self around him, my mate.
