Chapter 46

Catalina's POV

When I wake up, my head is resting on Andrew's chest and I just listen to him breathing. I feel his fingers tracing on my back so I know he's awake too. I want to know, but I don't at the same time. I finally get the courage. "Andrew can I ask you something."

"Anything." He says.

"How were you, you know, when I was gone?" I hope he understands what I'm asking. He tilts his head down to look at me. His face looks confused. "How do you mean?" He asks.

"I guess I'm trying to find out if you felt anything from me through our mate bond." I wanted to know if he felt me and Liam having s*x, without having to say it.

"No I didn't feel anything. I thought I honestly broke our connection. It left me empty inside. I was lost without you Lina. I know it's not your fault, I don't want you to feel any guilt about it." Andrew says. I squeeze him. I know he's saying that for me, but I can't help but feel guilty. It hurts me knowing that he was hurting while I was with Liam. Thinking about what me and him did together makes me sick.

"I'm sorry Andrew." I say as a tear rolls down my cheek.

"Lina I would love nothing more than to lay in bed with you forever. But something tells me we can't." Andrew says. I groan in defiance.

"We can lay here and talk about stuff, but I think more people need to know." Why is he always right.

"Fine but I want to take a bath. Can you get everyone here? And food! I have a feeling like this is going to be a long meeting." I say and roll off the bed.

"Deal" Andrew says. I head to the bathroom. I run a hot bath and sink into the warm water. I soak a wash cloth and drape it over my face. I lay there thinking about the conversation I'm about to have with everyone.

"What do I need to do first? Can you tell me that? Or maybe what all needs to happen and a time frame? Any guidance would be appreciated." I say to Kayla.

"I can tell you, you have 3 weeks to get ready. You need an army Lina. You need to practice controlling your powers. And you need to start uniting the packs. Kayla says.

Ok, it's nice to know some things.

"But you can't tell me about my last trial?" I ask her.

"No I can't."

"I have missed this." I hear Andrew's voice. I take the washcloth off my face and smile at him.

"People are starting to arrive and the food should be here soon." Andrew says and comes over kisses my forehead. When Andrew leaves I get up and dry myself off. I wrap myself in a towel and step into the bedroom. I see Andrew has laid out some clothing options for me. I get dressed in a casual t-shirt and jean shorts. I step out of the bedroom and see Rachel, Murphy, Gamma Lucas, Raymond, and Andrew all waiting for me in the dinning area. The food hasn't arrived yet and my stomach is not happy about that. But then Julia and Jet walk in carrying food and I sign in relief. We all gather around the table and chat a bit while we eat. I did feel a bit awkward. It was hard not to bring up the weird fake life I had been living for the past 4 weeks, oh and the fact that I killed a guy by marking him. And I marked him because I fell in love with him. All the things I wanted to avoid bringing up.

"So Lina, are we going to get down to the brass tacks, or are we going to keep avoiding it?" Murphy, of course Murphy has to be the one. I clear my throat. I stand up and walk over to the bar and hop up. I sit and face everyone. Where do I even start? I guess we can start. I just don't know where to begin." I say.

"Why don't you tell us what happened at Winter Stone Pack." Rachel says. Her eyes flick to Andrew and back to me. I take a deep breath. I really didn't want to tell Andrew what happened between Liam and I.

"I feel really uncomfortable telling Andrew what happened." I say looking at him. He looks upset, like he knows. He stands up and walks over to me.

"I really don't want to hear it, but I need to Lina." He kisses me. When he sits back down I tell them what happened to me. I might have left out how much Liam and I slept together and how much I felt for him. But even taking a lot of that out, I could feel Andrew's rage. It rolled off him like waves. I told them about the war, Jackson, Carrie, training with Jet, and then I got to the part where I marked Liam. Andrew loses it.

"You WHAT?!?" Oh he was pissed. He stands up and throws his chair across the room.

"Andrew calm down. Lina was being heavily manipulated by her wolf, Liam, and even you." His father says standing in front of Andrew. Andrew takes a few deep breaths to try and calm himself. My eyes are on the ground. I still feel ashamed with what happened, I haven't gotten to the part of where I killed him yet.

"Lina continue." Rachel says softly. I glance up at Andrew and his face brakes my heart to pieces. He looks like he just found out his pet died. I look away quickly. I need to get this over with. "When I marked Liam" I hear a low growl but keep going.

"He screamed out in pain. I heard a crash and saw a flash of light. A man appeared in the room. My marked spot glowed and Liam fell beside me. The man asked me if I loved Liam." Another low growl.

"I said yes and asked him to help him." A louder growl. Gamma Lucas had gotten up at this point and positioned himself between Andrew and I. Instinctively Jet followed suit. I saw a glance between Jet and Gamma Lucas and they nodded at eachother. The two men that have vowed their life for my protection. I know Andrew would never hurt me, my I could see Mark trying to take over. Andrew walked to the other side of the room and paces back and forth.

"The man said he accepted my sacrifice." This drew everyones attention to me.

"He clapped his hands and I felt a wave of power and heat. Kayla called him Uncle." I said. Andrew's father looks at me and then to Andrew.

"The Sun God." Raymond says. "The second trial." He adds.

"Liam screamed out in pain. Kayla told me to run and to get Jet. Outside the pack house a beam of light shot up from the roof into the sky, and then the house was on fire. She told me where you were and to rescue you." I smile at Raymond and he smiled back. Andrew was calmer. I flicked my eyes back to him. I couldn't read the expression on his face.

"Then we ran all the way to the airport." I said.

"So what now?" Murphy asked.

"Well Kayla told me I have 3 weeks to learn my new powers, unite the packs, and form an army." They all look at me.

"An army?" Andrew asks.

"This seems like a lot to ask in 3 weeks." Murphy says.

"We can call a council meeting." Raymond says.

"They will want to come here." Andrew adds.

"You can use the trailing facility for power practice." Gamma Lucas says.

"How big does this army need to be?" Rachel asks.

"I'm not sure. I don't even know what we will be fighting." I say.

"Does Kayla?" Murphy asks.

"I do, but not yet. Gather everyone. Gather the leaders of the packs. I will tell you then." Kayla says.

"She does, but she wants to gather the leaders of the packs. She'll tell me then." I say.

"Well looks like we have our marching orders. Alpha Raymond will gather the leaders, Jet and Lucas will help Lina with her powers, and Andrew and I will work on the army." Murphy says looking excited.

"Why is Jet helping her with her powers?" Andrew snaps. I look at him, is he jealous of Jet?

"Because I've been training with her the last 4 weeks and I vowed to protect her." Jet snaps back. I look at Julia and she seemed like she wanted to stay out of it as much as I did. Andrew, not one to back down, walks up to Jet and stands directly in front of him. "I'm watching you." Andrew says quietly.

"Fine, I'll be watching her. Like I have been for the past 4 weeks." Jet hisses back. Andrew grabbed his shirt and shoves him up against the window.

"Don't f**king test me." Andrew says.

"Don't get mad at me because you left her behind." Jet says.

"ENOUGH." I am standing on top of the kitchen bar. Everyone looks at me.

"This isn't helping. Andrew it's fine. Jet is a good warrior." Andrew looks back at Jet and releases him. Andrew comes over to me and I jump into his arms. He sets me on the ground and grabs my hand. "Everyone get to work. I need some time with Lina before she trains." Everyone takes their leave and Andrew takes me to the couch. He hasn't said a word to me for several minutes after everyone leaves.
