Chapter 65

Catalina's POV

Waking up I knew the next few days will be busy. I roll over and kiss Andrew's chest. I tuck my hand under my chin and prop my head up to stare out of the window. The sky is blue and yellow with the sunrise. Andrew is stroking my back.

"What's on your mind love?" Andrew asks.

"Just thinking there is so much we need to do. I hope we have enough time." I say.

"What do we need to do?" He asks. I sigh and give him a face. He knows what needs to be done.

"Humor me. Name one thing we need to do."

"I need more information about the god Pan." I say.

"The councilmen will be here today and we have a meeting to go over both of the gods." "The rest of the packs need to get here so they can train with the witches and Faes." I say. "The Faes arrive today along with two more packs. The rest will be here tomorrow." He says.

"I don't even know what this last trial is, only that's it's called death, which is concerning." I say.

"We will meet with the witches and talk about it to see if there is anymore information." He says.

"What are you doing?" I ask.

"I'm just showing you how ready you are. You are worried and for good reason, but don't let it turn to fear. We will be ready for whatever comes." He says with such confidence.

"I just feel like ever since I got here, things have happened to me that I don't understand and that are out of my control. I just can't wait for the day that I completely know what's going on. I want to feel in control for once. And I don't want to let anyone down." I say. He rolls over on top of me and looks me in the eyes.

"No matter what you do, you will never let me down. I know the kind of person you are, and you would do anything to protect me and your pack." He kisses my nose and I smile.

"Let's just take one thing at a time." He says and I push him back and straddle him.

"Then we should probably get up and head to training. I want to check on the warriors and witches before I get roped into meetings all day." I say and kiss him. I get off him and out of bed. I grab some clothes and head for the bathroom. I brush my teeth and get dressed. I went out and got a cup of coffee while I waited for Andrew. When he's ready we head out to the training facility.

I want to see how the warriors and witches are getting on. The packs are rotating training schedules. When we arrive I see Jet leading instructions. I walk through and watch the wolves and witches work together, their magic enhancing the wolves abilities, and displaying their own combat powers. Jet comes over once he's completed his instructions.

"How is it looking?" Andrew asks.

"It's looking good. Each group has really embraced working with witches and we are faster and stronger than ever." Jet sounds proud.

"Good. Keep it up. I know more packs are showing up today. We will get them on the schedule as soon as they arrive." I say. Jet nods and we watch the warriors a bit more before Andrew and I head back to the pack house. We head to my office where Raymond and Lilith are waiting for me.

"High Alpha." Lilith bows.

"Please just call me Lina." I take a seat at my desk and Andrew stands behind me.

"I hear you wanted more information on the last task." Lilith says.

"Yes, do we know anything else about it other than the name?"

"We know it will happen in two days. We think the name isn't actually death. We looked up a different translation of the legend and in that translation it's call Resurrection. Once it is complete you will come into full power of the Phoenix. We still don't know what the event will be, but we have a belief it has to do with the Phoenix tears." Lilith says.

"Phoenix tears bring someone back to life, right?" I clarify.

"Correct. But we don't know if that's what they are referring to. It is only a guess."

"What about Zeus' offer?" I ask.

"We couldn't find any information on that. It's never been done before, but you have never existed before either so we are all on new ground." She says.

"And what about Pan. All the other Gods have come to me, but he has remained silent." I say.

"Well that's interesting, from all accounts the great Pan is dead. He was known for being lustful and the god of the wolf. I'm not even sure this is his fight. Pan's powers can transform objects into different forms. He is strong." Lilith says.

"Maybe he's not in the fight? Maybe that's why he hasn't come to me." I say.

"Maybe, but we won't know until day of. Let's go over the plan one more time." Lilith says.

"Ok, so the warriors and witches will work together and fight back anything conjured up by Pan and Zeus. The Fae and Lina will work on the Gods themselves. First Pan and then Zeus. Fighting them back and weakening them. A handful of witches and Fae will work on the prison that will hold them." Lilith says.

"Do you think we'll be able to do it?" I ask, I probably shouldn't show weakness but I want to know what she honestly thought.

"We are using every tool the Moon Goddess is giving us. It has to be enough." She says.

"The Faes have just arrived." Andrew tells me.

"Have Alastair join us." I tell Andrew.

"Alastair?" Raymond asked.

"Alastair is the King's son. I'm surprised he came, he's not a fan of mine." Lilith says.

"I think he's a fan of Lina." Andrew says with a smile. A few moments later, there's a knock at the door.

"Come in." I say. Alastair enters with a smile, but when he spots Lilith it falters. He walks in and bows slightly off me.

"I'm glad to see you have made it." I say to him.

"Glad to be here High Alpha." He says.

"This is Andrew's father Raymond, and you know Lilith." I say.

"Nice to meet you Alpha, Lilith." Alastair says.

"We will be holding a leaders meeting once the councilmen arrive, sometime after dinner. That should give everyone enough time to settle in." I tell him.

"Very good High Alpha. I look forward to the meeting. I will go get settled in." He bows and leaves.

"Oh yeah he's not a fan of yours." Raymond chuckles.

"Well we can't all be as lovable as Catalina." She says with a smile.

"It's lunch time. Let's eat before the council shows up. Then we'll meet with them, and a few more packs will be arriving. Today is a busy day." Raymond says. We all stand up and head to the dinning area. We all grab a table and Jet, Rachel, and Murphy join us. They talk about the Faes and the packs that have arrived. They talk about the warriors and the witches training. They talk, but I look out the window and their voices seem to be drowned out but the wind I hear blowing and the whisper I hear coming from outside. "Catalina." The whisper says

"Catalina." It says again.

"Catalina?" Andrew's voice comes through. I snap my head to him and jump a bit.

"Yeah?" I say.

"You ok?" He asks concerned. I smile trying to avoid the awkward moment at the table.

"Yeah sorry I thought I saw something outside. A lot on my mind." I say as I take another bite of food. The table talk picks up again and I glance back to the window, no more wind. We finish lunch just in time to receive the councilmen. Eric smiles at me. "High Alpha, I can not wait to share all of our findings with you. I see your pack lands are overflowing with warriors, witches, and fairies." He says.

"Yes Alpha our findings are great indeed." George says as I see a large cloaked item being carried into the pack house. I raise an eyebrow at him.

"We will tell you all about that in the meeting. But first let us old men rest from our long travels." He smiles and heads inside. I greet Ryan, Jason, and Koa as they head inside too. So we have the full council, the Fae army, and 10 out of the other 12 packs here on our lands, this place is crawling with warriors. After I greet the councilmen I head back to my office. I collapse into my desk chair and sigh. This is exhausting having so many under one roof. I kinda want to get this show on the road. Just as I'm thinking that a clap of thunder and a bright light, Zeus is in my office. A wind blows some papers off my desk and I hear Zeus' voice.

"Have you thought about my offer child?" He asks.

"I will not accept your offer." I say back. He smiles like he doesn't believe me.

"Why do you want to die with them?" He asks

"Why save me?" I ask back.

"You are more than just a dog. You have been gifted from the Gods. You are born of fire and trusted with Kehlani. You already know what is to be a God." He says.

"I would die with them, because I am their leader, they are my family." I say back.

"In two days I will trigger your last trial. You will change your mind and I will accept you into your new family. We will meet at the lake where you fell in love with your family. Two days." He said.

"Oh and watch out for Pan. He likes to play games. He not much of a fighter, but he plays dirty." Zeus says and a flash with a bang. Zeus is gone. Well I guess Pan is involved, great. Like today isn't already busy enough. I have to plan meetings with Gods now. I wish I could call a meeting with the Moon Goddess or the Sun God, to know if they plan to help or our best strategy. Just then Andrew walks through the door.

"What happened in here?" He asked looking at my papers and sniffing the air.

"Zeus did a pop up." I reply

"What happened?" He asks concerned.

"We have two days, apparently he triggers my final trial, and Pan IS involved." I say.

"Great. Why does it seem like everyone knows your trials but us?" He asks. He has a point. Two days until I come to full power, it's so close it almost scares me.

"I don't know. But for the past several years of my life I have felt out of control of it. I look forward to a time where I have the control." I say. He smiles at me.

"Once we put these Gods away, you will have all the control." He winks. I roll my eyes, of course his mind is in the gutter.
