Chapter 75

Jets

POV

I left the hospital room crushed. There is another obstacle in front on Lina and this one seems harder than all the rest. I need to speak with Raymond and Lilith. I head to the Alphas office to find Raymond. When I arrive I knock on the door.

"Come in." I hear. I walk into the office.

"Jet good to see you. Have a seat." Raymond says. I take a seat across from him.

"What's wrong? Your sadness is written all over your face." He asks me.

"Lina went to see Andrew." I say. He puts his pen down and leans back in his chair. He sighs.

"Ah. I'm guessing that didn't go well."

"No, Rachel took her."

"I'm sure Rachel was just trying to help. Don't be mad at her."

"I'm not mad at her. I'm mad that Lina has to go through whatever this is." I say getting up from my chair.

"I just want something to be easy for her." I add.

"I know Jet. We will figure this out. Tell me about her visit. Did Andrew say anything?" He asks.

"Lina said he said something about a Dolus. It was all she could make out. Does that mean anything to you?" I ask.

"Not really. But let me look into it."

"Ask Lilith and the councilmen too. We could use all the help we can get." I say. Raymond nods.

"Now that Lina is awake you need to rest up. I have a feeling you haven't been getting much lately. We don't need another Andrew situation on our hands." Raymond says. I nod. I head to the door.

"Jet, when did they say Lina could come home?" Raymond asks.

"Tomorrow if she's healing right. But we all know Lina. She'll come home regardless of what they say." Raymond laughs.

"Right you are. I know a few people who will be happy to hear that. I'll make a few calls as see what I can find out." Raymond says. I smile and leave the room.

Catalina's POV

How am I expected to just lay around here until tomorrow, thank goddess it's already dinner time. A nurse brings in some food for me. I only eat a little bit. Another nurse comes in and checks my reflexes and my leg strength. They say I still need a few days to build up my leg strength with some exercises. But honestly all I can focus on is Andrew. There is no way Andrew would hurt me willingly, something else is going on, but what?

That night as I was trying to sleep, I couldn't shut my mind off. I wonder if I could listen in on Andrew's mind. Maybe that will help me. I open the link between me and Andrew.

"She is still alive" a low male voice says.

"No she is dead I killed her." That was Andrew's voice.

"She came and saw you today." The low gravely voice says

"No it was Rachel. Go away. I did what you asked."

"If she is alive I will murder everyone in your house. The rivers will run red with blood, and it will be all your fault."

"No I did it. Just like you asked. Leave me alone. Leave me alone. Leave me alone." Andrew chants over and over and over. I cut the connection. Andrew is either possessed, psychotic, or mentally tortured. Who was that other voice in his head? I thought about this all night getting very little sleep.

The next morning after breakfast, Jet, Rachel, and Murphy all came to see me.

"Morning Alpha." Murphy comes over to give me a hug.

"Good morning Murphy." I say giving him a gentle hug.

"How are you feeling?" He asks.

"Not as sore as yesterday." I say.

"Good because we're busting you out of here." Murphy says.

"Sweet, when?" I ask.

"After lunch. The doctors want to give you one last check up before you go." Jet says.

"Some hospital break." I sigh.

"Well I wanted to throw you over my shoulder and make a run for it. But some of us said no to that idea." Murphy looked at both Jet and Rachel. I laughed slightly and held my side.

"Don't make me laugh I'm still healing." I say.

They stayed a bit and got me caught up on everything that has been going on after the war up until today. They avoided anything dealing with Andrew, which I understood. They told me we lost about 30% of all warriors and a good amount of Fae in the war. I really want to talk to Alastair and Lilith to thank them for their help. I really want things to get back to normal, or at least what I think normal is. After a few hours of bonding, they leave and I'm stuck waiting for my final check up with the doctor. They bring me lunch and tell me the doctor will be in after I'm done. I eat my lunch quickly and wait for someone to come back. Suddenly the phone in my room rings. I reach over to answer it.

"Hello." I say.

"Lina. It's Raymond."

"Oh hey Raymond, it's good to hear from you."

"My dear I'm so glad you are awake. We have all missed you."

"Thanks. I feel like I've missed so much."

"Lina, I'm calling about something you told Jet. You said Andrew said Dolus, right?" Raymond asks.

"Yes, does that mean something? Did you find something out?" I ask excitedly.

"I don't want to take all the credit. Lilith is actually the one who found it. When do you get out of the hospital?" He asks.

"Soon I hope. I'm just waiting to get checked out."

"Good. I'll come by your place a little later and I'll tell you everything." He says.

"That would be great." I say. There was a knock on my room door.

"I'll talk to you later." I say and hang up.

"Come in." I say. The doctor walks in with a clipboard and a pen.

"Hello Alpha. How are we feeling today?" He asks. He was a handsome older guy, nice jaw line, clean shaven.

"Still a little sore but a lot better than yesterday." I say.

"Good to hear it. I'm just going to check your wounds and you should be able to go after that." He says. He pulls back the bandage on my shoulder. It was still a bit raw, but even after only one day it definitely looks more healed. "Good, you are healing up fast Alpha." He says as he puts on a new bandage. He does the same for my side.

"You are all set. I will send in your Gamma and a wheelchair. You need to strengthen up your leg muscles Alpha."

"Will do doc." I say as he leaves. After a few minutes there is a knock at the door.

"Come in." I say. In walks Gamma Lucas and a wheelchair. I want to jump up and hug him, but I know it will end up in my face planting into the ground. So I smile instead and he comes over and hugs me.

"I'm so glad you are awake High Alpha." Gamma Lucas says.

"I'm glad to be awake." I say. He scoops me up and places me in the wheelchair and he heads for the door. I can't wait to be back in my own home. In my own bed. We head up the elevator to the top floor. We get to the top and Gamma Lucas wheels me to my apartment. Once the door opens I am met with cheers and surprise. Waiting for me inside were Jet, Rachel, Murphy, Lilith, Alastair, Flora, and Raymond.

Even councilmen Eric was there. The table was full of food and Gamma Lucas wheeled me up to it.

"You guys didn't have to do all this." I say.

"Umm of course we did. Things have been tense since before the war. We need to celebrate more often." Murphy says.

"We all missed you terribly dear." Flora says touching my arm.

"Im just so happy to see all of you after everything that happened." I say. Everyone looks at me and smiles.

"Now let's pass out some drinks! And let's eat!" Murphy says. I chuckle, so glad to see Murphy hasn't changed. Rachel hands me a glass of wine. I don't drink much of it, I haven't had a pain killer today, but I don't want to push it. I look around the room at people chatting and drinking. I realize we have never been in this situation before. No war to plan, no army to gather, no great bad guy to defeat. Everyone looks lighter, no black cloud hanging over them. Just like when we were all at the lake house. It's nice to see the different sides of everyone I have grown to love. And who love me. I never thought I'd meet anyone who would love me and take care of me, let alone a whole room of people. I smile to myself, then I feel a pain. Andrew should be here. Andrew. My mate. The man I love. I can't be happy while he's down in a cell. I set my glass of wine down. Raymond comes over to me.

"I think we need to talk about Dolus." He says to me.

"Should we include everyone?" I ask. He nods.

"All right everyone, I know we are celebrating. But we all need to talk about something we've been avoiding. Andrew. There has been a development. Lina heard him say something. It's a name, Dolus. It is the name of a God." Raymond says to everyone. "He is known for his tricks and deception. But that is all we know. We don't know if he is the one doing this to Andrew. And if he is we don't know why or how to stop him. I don't mean to dampen our time together, but we need help. We need to come up with a way to get Andrew back, if we can." Raymond's voice broke a bit at the end. I reach out and touch his arm.

"We will get him back. I'm awake now. Nothing will get in my way." I say with a gentle smile.

"Right! Our High Alpha will kick any God's a**" Murphy says. A few chuckles fall across the room.

"I can look up all I can find on this Dolus," Eric says. I nod to him in acknowledgment.

"Same here. I can poke around and see what I can find," Lilith says.

"And I will talk with someone who might know something," I say.

"Who?" Raymond asks.

"Kehlani," I say.
