Alpha´s curvy bullied human mate -
Chapter 96: There is no turning back
Nathaniel
"She gave her life for me...she saved me," Roger says in disbelief. We saw my parents' house on fire, consuming what little was left. It was a catastrophe, and as we sat there, we couldn't take it in.
"I don't know if your sister finally understood her mistakes, but what is certain is that she chose to be on your side," I said to him as I watched him trying not to sob.
My father had died, too, in the most agonizing hours. Erica had gotten away with it, and so had Marco. They had shown us their worst side, that they had no fear, no limits. I believed then that they were capable of anything.
"And even more, Regina gave us one last piece of information: Eileen. I thought that when we killed the Councilman, and he told us that Marco wanted to have two mates... I assumed that he meant Regina and Penelope, not that he would have another mate," I say while we're already getting up, we didn't even have time to mourn our dead.
"A real mate...she says? A True mate?" Michael asked me.
"That's right... that bastard found his destined mate and hid it. He told me he never found her!" I shouted.
"She was in your office... maybe the councilmen were there for that reason, it really didn't make sense that they were there, they could have run away. They could be protecting her" Andrew said, and he was right, we all looked at each other in surprise. Would the girl be there? We wouldn't know.
"I'll inform Alpha," Michael said and sent the alert to everyone through the mind-link.
"It looks like we have an advantage," Daniel says, but I can't ignore the big problem here.
No matter how strong we might be, no matter if we had a thousand chances against him. Marco still had my mate in his power.
"Alpha we have to be ready, they're not playing around, they're prepared for the worst, and we can't fall into more traps," my Beta said even though I was still completely overwhelmed by the need for my mate... I knew he was right. I had to protect my pack, but at the same time, I couldn't leave her.
I need her, I feel like dying without her.
And our luck improved when Asher showed up along with other Alphas. The rest of my Alpha friends showed exhaustion, but they were all right.
"Nate! Guys!" he says and we are happy to see them.
"We've come across feral vampires, rogues like I've never seen before... the situation is very serious, Nate. If Marco isn't stopped right now, I don't know what will become of our entire species, of humans, of the world!" they all comment worriedly to me.
"Marco is overstepping every boundary set by the Councils, rules that have been in place for years!" said Asher.
"The final battle is coming Alpha, it won't be long now," Roger tells me.
When I return to the pack house, and we pass the dungeons, I see that many of my warriors have already gathered there.
All waiting for my orders, for they all feel it in their bones... that the time has come to truly face our destiny. I also saw someone I thought was far away and safe.
"Mom! What are you doing here?"
"I stay to help my son, and I will not apologize for that. A Luna should not abandon her people when they need her most," she says as I hug her.
"Your mate will be fine, Nate... she is strong. There are houses taken by Moonstone's people, several are wounded, but we are treating them. I... I felt your power and I came here to help," she says.
I need everyone's help... I feel we are at a disadvantage. I watched as everyone greeted her with respect, happy that she was there, and went to tend to the wounded in the dungeons.
"Alpha, if we want to save our Luna, we have to go straight to the heart of the problem. We have to show Marco what happens when he messes with us" Micahel says.
"That's right, it's not just what happens here that's at stake, it's our entire species. This battle is about winning or dying in the attempt," Asher says, I try to overcome the loss of my mate, and that motivates me to do what I have to do. "Mate needs us, and we will do what we have to do for her," Hunter tells me.
"We need every wolf, man and woman who can fight," I said aloud.
And I felt myself regain my Alpha strength as people approached and answered my call.
Warriors and rogues showed me their willingness, some were armed, some with shields, and although they looked nervous, there was no doubt that they would give their lives for the pack, for our people, for our freedom. "Alpha... we want to help too, we can go into battle, we will do anything," the omegas told me.
"We too Alpha! We don't want to be left behind," Jack and the humans said.
"I'm sure we'll find a way for everyone to participate," I say, not being able to stop anyone from withdrawing from the fight.
I sent some to guard the dungeons, the pack house, and other perimeters. The forest would also be guarded.
"Andrew and Naomi...look for Marco's mate."
"Eileen...we will find her, Alpha,"
The Alphas got ready, and we looked for weapons, the humans in their cars and everyone just waiting for my call. I had never felt that so many lives were my responsibility...and I was putting them in the worst possible danger. "Alpha... there's movement on the northern border," Daniel said as he came running.
"She's over there... I can feel her, and this time it's for real... I can feel her power," Hunter tells me.
"It makes sense, Nate... in that area, he could more easily receive his allies, we were close and that's where the vampires attacked us," Michael tells me.
As I turn to look at all my people, I can't help but feel proud. A group of men and women who are brave and battle-hardened.
"I could not ask for better wolves, nor could I ask for better allies... my friends," I said, addressing my army.
"We have been stricken by a moment in history for which no living creature is prepared. All life forms are in danger, and with them... all that we love. I know that triumph awaits us, for we are motivated not by fear, not by revenge, not by pride. But by survival, justice, and family" I said.
"I am sure that after this we will all be together, living in peace, and a terrible evil in the world will be eliminated!" I yell and see everyone cheering.
"Long live our Alpha and Moonstone!" Michael shout.
"Long live all the wolves!"
"Long live Belle Spring!" the humans scream.
"Long live the free world!" I say.
Some turned into wolves, several ran with their weapons, the humans riding in their cars while Asher and I took the lead, followed by Michael, the others Alphas and Roger.
We were a large group, but we wouldn't know if we were enough until we faced them.
When we reach the northern border, in an open field, I suddenly see movement near the edge of the forest and see wolves and masked men coming out. I stand in front of them, ready to receive whatever comes. This is truly the place of battle, I can feel it.
"Marco! You've been hiding long enough, you no longer have your father to protect you, nor the Council to save you, come and face me like a man! Fight me one on one if you dare!" I yell and get no answer. "You have filled me with wolfsbane...but I still fight to put up! Come and show yourself, come out of your cave and let's fight like wolves! Like alphas!" I demand.
Of course, I didn't want to call a truce or leave the situation alone. I wanted to beat him, kill him, watch him bleed. But if there was a chance that no one else would die, I would take it without a second thought. More and more groups approached, I guess they were waiting for us, and he knew I was coming for Penelope. As they walk, I see familiar alphas, traitors with their warriors, and councilmen on the side. They have prepared for war and there is no turning back now. Marco comes out from among them with a satisfied look on his face, like someone who has everything under control.
"Nate... you finally came, and thank you for your offer, but I won't take it. I mean... why take it when I have an advantage? An excellent advantage..." he says.
I panic as I see him grab someone by the arm. She is gagged and tied up, I suffer to see her crying, desperate.
"Penelope..." I say, gasping for breath.
