Alpha’s Hostage
Queen Of The Alpha Chapter 47

Layan's voice, as Priscilla expected, echoed in the room and she covered her sensitive ears. Then she heard a growl, followed by a click of his tongue, and she raised her head in doubt.

She raised her head in doubt again. Was he not going to tell her anything else? Normally Layan was the type to go on a long tirade, but what she saw made her arms fall to her sides. His blue eyes were fixed on her face, and they looked at her with what? She couldn't quite define them, but they were less murky now than before. She blinked in confusion.

-I just slipped," was all she could answer quietly.

The wolf sighed, closing her eyes as if to take some time to calm down. His arm was still wrapped tightly around her waist almost fusing their bodies together. He wrinkled his nose as a certain foreign scent reached him. -Victore was here," he frowned.

Priscilla recovered from the moment and nodded her head, one of her usual smiles settling on her face as she laid her head on the wolf's shoulder.

-Yes, we were talking a bit, I took a bath while he was sitting on my bed, I came out with no clothes on and changed in front of him. But don't worry I'm not in his hunting range," she had told herself to keep her distance from him but she couldn't help coaxing him out as she had done so far.

A louder growl than before was heard and she raised an eyebrow.

-This is my room Layan, you can't bother if I bring someone in," her tone wasn't serious when she spoke, more like she was somehow amused by the fact that she was putting him in that state. That he was slowly regaining some of his emotions was interesting- You don't own me and you don't own me because you don't feel like it-.

She went to get up but the iron grip didn't let her move and she felt the alpha's breath in her ear. -What if I want to be?

Priscilla was petrified. Then her chin was grabbed and lifted. Layan's lips fell possessively against her mouth, devouring the skin in their wake. Reflexively and with all that she had pondered her first impulse was to pull away but the hand on her chin moved to her neck and though she didn't squeeze it she settled firmly so that she couldn't move as her mouth began to be violated.

-Don't refuse me Priscilla," she heard him murmur in a moment as he released her to let the air into his lips and it was at that moment that she realised she was tense.

And of course she would be tense. What the hell was that all about? She'd only stroked him a little, given his wild side a little cuddle. That wasn't enough to make the rational part behave like this. After all, hadn't Victore told him he was separated?

Layan's tongue wrapped itself around hers, almost wanting to melt into her after it had run all over her cavity. The wet sound it made was almost obscene. It was a wild, animalistic kiss, but it had something more to it and no, it wasn't like the ones Layan's wild side gave him that was just instinct and craving for s*x. This one was full of something more.

Layan released her as he felt her lips going numb letting the saliva form strands between them and wiped with his thumb the saliva that spilled from the corner of the she-wolf's mouth that he had managed to relax in his arms. Now that he had opened up and allowed himself to feel and let go of his prejudices after the monstrous scare Priscilla had given him, he could conclude that she was beautiful. Even if her face was flushed, her hair matted and her lips puffy.

-Hey wolf, do you have a fever," he heard her ask breathlessly.

Layan this time was the confused one.

-Why would I have a fever," he too found himself panting slightly.

-I don't know. I'm not the one who rejects his mate one day and the next he's... like this..." He couldn't explain Layan's radical change in words.

The alpha said nothing. He had to admit that he had kissed her in an animalistic way, so to speak. But what he was left to wonder was why she seemed so used to being kissed like that. She had even been able to keep up with him. Did she...

-Can I ask you something," Priscilla tried to straighten her back, which Layan had so far had her back pressed against his chest and though it was comfortable at first, he had arched it so that her waist was killing her, "It's more like two things..." Priscilla's back straightened.

Layan loosened his grip and let her pull away hearing her moan a little as she crawled to get some distance from him. The emptiness that was created in her arms felt uncomfortable. It was like that morning when he had woken up alone on the carpet not understanding what he was doing there.

-What do you want," he pushed his hair behind his ear.

-First of all, I need something to write.

-Do you want to send a letter to your parents or siblings?

Priscilla said no.

-Not at all. I don't need a letter and I spoke to my mother very recently. And don't look at me like that. I'm not going to open the bridge for you to talk to her.

Layan leaned back on his arm and smiled. Not having his defences up all the time when he talked to her or rather fought with her was quite relaxing. Maybe he would have had to think differently from the start and life would have been easier for him.

-I never said anything about you opening a bridge or whatever you want to call it. Although I know it'll come in handy in the future when I need to tell Hades something," she said.

Priscilla froze again. There were two things Layan had said that she was sure wouldn't even cross her mind the day before. First she had said the word future, as if she was going to be there for a long time, in that place. Second, she had mentioned her father... not her mother.

-Layan, did you just hear yourself?

-I don't see anything in my words.

Oh, yes. There was definitely something wrong. Layan wasn't like that. He was usually a hedgehog all the time with his spikes every time she came near and only put her down when she slipped.

-I don't know why, but I feel a little less uncomfortable with yesterday's Layan," she mentioned without thinking too much about it.

-Honey, the magic of being an alpha is that I have to be unpredictable," he stood up gracefully and walked over to her and grabbed her under her armpits and pulled her up. Unlike him, she weighed nothing and was so small that it seemed incredible that he could hold her and not break her in the process.

-You must eat more.

-So far you've never cared about my physique. What's the point now?

Layan looked up from her waist where he'd moved his hand, noting that it was tiny like her belly, to her eyes.

-You're very surly today.

-I'm not surly," Priscilla had to lift her hand quickly, blocking Layan's lips as they approached hers.

-Yes, you are surly," he reaffirmed and released her, "Let's go to my study, you can take what you need," and walked towards the door.

Priscilla stayed a few seconds to catch her breath and put her thoughts in order. It was times like these that she preferred to be the block of ice that she was before she arrived, but it seemed that what was blocking her emotions was slowly melting because of the wolf in front of her. That was dangerous and even more so with Liam hanging around. The damn bastard would freeze him when she found him.

She followed Layan down the hallway and realized it would be the first time she'd ever been in that intimate place of the alpha. He remembered his father spending many hours inside that room and every once in a while his mother would come visit and help him with his stress. He imagined it went both ways. His father talked about his s*x life as if it was the most normal thing in the world. As long as his ma wasn't present.

-Layan, your sister is seeing someone," she said quietly as she watched the alpha's back in front of her. Back that suddenly tensed but didn't stop. -That's good.

Priscilla was the one who stopped. Layan heard her footsteps stop and turned around.

-What's wrong?

-I thought you'd be one of those possessive brothers who wouldn't let his sister hang around. Especially after he just found out as was the case now. Layan grimaced but ran his hand over the back of his neck.

-I wouldn't be lying if I said it didn't bother me a little that my sister was seeing a wolf. I am a male and alpha after all but I'm glad she can get her love life back. She already lost her partner once and it tore her apart and drove her into madness. As long as she's careful, I won't stop her.

-If you'd been flexible like that from the start, our relationship wouldn't be so dense.

Layan bowed his head slightly. The sun filtering through the window danced through the reddish strands of her hair.

-It doesn't have to be anymore.

There it was again. That strange, new facet that made her doubt her new and current goal. Layan was at the bottom of her priorities now. She couldn't think of joining "him" with all the risks that entailed. So Priscilla clenched her fists and walked with a straight back past him.

-Where are you going?" she heard his voice.

-To your studio.

-Do you know where it is? Layan smiled.

-No, but it must be in that direction.

The alpha snorted under his breath and walked in her direction and passed her to follow him again.

-And what was that second thing you wanted to ask me," he asked, slipping his hands into the pocket of his trousers.

Priscilla knew he wouldn't like that request and even less now for the new Layan but as she didn't mince words she blurted it out.

-I need you to send for Litus," she said.

And as expected, a growl rattled the windows.
