Alpha’s Hybrid Cinderella -
Chapter 112
Alita
The process of sending my blood off to Master Wraith is worth it. Eda is a phenomenal Luna and she, Peelle, and Osborn work well together.
My mom has been planning for a one-year celebration for them for months now and we finally get to celebrate tonight. But it turns out, there's a new thing to celebrate. Eda is pregnant... with twins!
It takes a toll on her body, and I had to make new arrangements through Flicka. Eda has only been pregnant for a month, and she was so close to death by the time we got the new antidote.
Now I have to send two vials of blood but it's worth it for her and the babies to be safe. Eda is happy but I can hear her thoughts and I know that she's worried about her mom. I don't blame her. Even though Master Wraith agreed to this whole arrangement... I see the marks on Flicka's body every time we meet. She is not being treated well.
I'm about to turn 17 and that means I can keep doing this for at least one more year, but I'm worried that when I find my mate at 18 that I'll have to move and that I won't be able to keep sending blood.
I don't know what I'll do then. I might have to come clean, but for now, I won't worry about it.
Tonight, is a night of celebration! To enjoy our new Luna and her health and to get excited for the next generation of leaders that are inside her womb.
Eda walks into my room and I notice she looks slightly green, and she looks at me as she plops down onto my chair, "Have you ever thought about having kids, Alita?"
I chuckle as I shake my head no and say, "Not really, whatever the moon goddess wants, right?"
She huffs, blowing some hair away from her face, and says, "If the moon goddess chose for me to be this sick then I have some choice words for her!"
As if on que, Peelle walks into the room with a ginger ale and some crackers. Both his sugar gliders run down his arms and hop onto Eda, happy to be beside her as if trying to make her feel better. He comes over to me and says in a quiet tone, "Let me know if she gets sick."
I nod my head and watch as Eda rolls her eyes and as Peelle leaves his gliders jump and glide over to him.
I ask, "Are you excited for the party?"
She has a mouth full of crackers and takes a moment before responding to me. She nods her head, "I am. I just hope I'll be able to keep up tonight. I don't have as much energy as I did before getting pregnant."
I laugh, "I'm sure that our pack members will understand that their pregnant with twins Luna might not party hard."
She rolls her eyes as she stuffs another cracker in her mouth. I walk over to her and start brushing and braiding her hair. Anything to make her feel better.
It feels like time zoomed past because soon Osborn and Peelle come to get us so that we can all go to the party. Mom and dad want to introduce Osborn, Peelle, and Eda so I need to go join them.
I watch the love in their eyes for one another and I hope that one day I'll be able to find a love like them.
When I go outside my mom waves me over and wraps her arm around me. I smile as soon Osborn, Peelle, and Eda show up and the crowd goes wild upon seeing their leaders especially when Eda's little baby bump is so prominent. Suddenly, there's a cold breeze and all the noise seemed to stop, and a chill goes up my spine. Something isn't right.
Osborn tenses up and I can see his eyes darken showing that his wolf is present and ready to attack. A growl rumbles from his chest and he jumps forward and shifts. Peelle pulls Eda behind him, and my dad shifts and covers my mom. My mom tells me in a hushed hurried tone, "If things break out, go hide."
I want to argue with her, I can help! But the glare she gives me makes me shrink and I take a few steps back.
An unfamiliar howl echoes through the pack and Peelle picks Eda up and rushes inside, not willing to risk his mate.
The screaming is the first thing I notice, and my mom screams at me, "GO!"
People begin to scatter, and several people shift into their wolves prepared to battle even if they haven't been trained.
My mom shifts and rushes off with my dad and they work like a well-oiled machine. But I'm frozen, I can't move.
I know I should hide or try to help in some way, but no matter what, I can't move.
Osborn stays in front of the pack doors; he will not let anyone get through him.
Finally, my feet move, and I try to get to the back side of the pack house but suddenly, a giant wolf jumps in front of me. I fall on my butt and my breath hitches in my throat and the wolf pants in my face, and it licks its large teeth when suddenly a well-dressed man walks forward.
My eyebrows furrow as he holds his hand out and says, "You can come willingly, or I'll take you by force. Your choice."
I stare at him, not knowing who he is and if I can trust him with the chaos around me. I force myself to my feet as I try to find a way out. Someone wraps their arm around my head and places something over my face. Black spots take over my vision and I can't stay awake, and I hear him say, "Good job."
I hope Eda stays safe. I hope that she won't lose her life without the antidote. If she does, then everything was for nothing...
