Chapter 126

Eda

Osborn paces around the living room and holds Faith. His constant movement helps soothe her while I feed Hope.

We can't believe that they were able to find Alita so fast. We know that Alita is different than she was before, but it doesn't matter. She will finally be home.

When the door opens Evan, Claudia, and Peelle come in and behind them is a pregnant Alita and a man we don't know. My heart breaks for her knowing that the child inside her belongs to my disgusting biological father. Her eyes zero in on Osborn and then she looks at Peelle and she murmurs, "Huh."

Peelle says, "That's our brother, Osborn, he's the current Alpha of the Scarlet Pack."

Osborn walks over to her and repositions Faith in his arms and says, "Alita, I can't believe your home."

She looks him up and down and Peelle takes Faith from his arms and walks over to me to give me a kiss. I notice the confused look on Alita's face and she asks, "So, you're both with her?"

We all nod our heads and she asks, "And who are you?"

I take a step towards her and say, "I'm Eda, I'm your brother's mate. We were... we were close before you left."

She nods, but has a furrowed brow like she's still trying to figure everything out. She looks back to her parents and says, "I would like some time to myself, please."

Claudia rushes to her side, "Of course, I'll show you to your room."

Claudia grabs her arm to lead her, but Alita looks back at the unknown man and asks, "Where will he stay?"

The man smiles at her and Claudia says, "There's an extra room right next to yours that he can be in if you want."

She nods her head and murmurs, "That would be nice."

Alita and Claudia walk away and we all let out a breath of relief knowing she's home. I look over at the man and ask, "Who are you?"

He takes a step forward and bows his head to Osborn and then to me as he says, "Alpha, Luna, thank you for allowing me into your home. My name is Mateo, I am the one who found Alita and I am her true mate."

My eyebrows raise, and I look to see Osborn with his neutral 'no reaction' face. Evan walks over to me and takes Hope from my arms and says, "Go ahead and catch them up to speed, once Claudia comes back I think it's best if we all take a visit to Aamon." My eyebrows knit together and I say, "Who?"

Peelle answers, "Master Wraith, that's what he had Alita call him during their time together."

I nod my head and stand beside Osborn as Mateo starts the story, "I'm going to give you the quick rundown and you can ask me questions or we can go over more details later. I met Alita at the market but she told me her name was Aurora, not Alita. I didn't know her true name till you got in contact with us."

He shakes his head and breathes out and you could see in his eyes it's like he was reliving their first meeting all over again.

He continues, "I knew instantly that she was my mate. But she thought I was ridiculous because she said she already had a mate and was having a baby with him. I knew something wasn't right, but I couldn't convince her that she was wrong. I followed her to make sure she was safe and after that I started to just try to bump into her. We had a small friendship and one day after a doctor's appointment she passed out. I didn't know what to do so I brought her back to my pack. While she was unconscious, we heard from you, and we did what we could to keep her on pack grounds. Your family members came, and we brought her here."

Claudia comes downstairs, and Osborn says, "Okay, we're up to speed. Let me grab the girls' nanny and we will go see Aamon and figure out why Alita doesn't remember us, and she thinks her name is Aurora."

It doesn't take long for Osborn to find the nanny and as he's returning I tell Mateo, "Thank you for looking out for her."

He shrugs, "She's my mate, it's my job."

I can't help but smile from his words, he reminds me of Peelle and if Alita has been blessed with a man like her brother... then she is one lucky girl. Peelle is one of the most caring men I've ever met and it's good to know that there are others out there with such a good heart.

I'm sandwiched between my mates as we lead the way to the cell where Aamon is kept. My heart races at the thought of seeing him again.

The moment we enter the room I notice that he is lying on his back staring at the ceiling. He's still in his straitjacket and has yet to acknowledge our presence.

I almost jump when I hear his voice, "You know, the least you could do is provide me with a TV or some music to listen to. By having me in a room like this for an infinite amount of time it is guaranteeing that I'll go crazy."

Osborn scoffs, "You're already crazy. We need to talk to you, sit up."

Aamon groans as he sits up and his eyes focus on the unknown person in the room, Mateo. His eyes narrow and he asks, "Who are you?"

Mateo crosses his arms and says, "I am Alita's true mate. I want to know who the f**k you are and what you have done to her?"

Aamon laughs, "You think you're so intimidating just because you have muscles, but you're not. Has she accepted you yet?" He taunts, "Or is she still loyal to me?"

Mateo's jaw is clenched tight as he tries not to let Aamon under his skin. Claudia takes a step forward and demands, "Quit playing around, Aamon." She takes a breath and her eyes seem to spark with anger as she hisses, "What did you do to our daughter?"
