Eda

I watch as Peelle starts cutting up fresh fruits for me. They look exotic and I wouldn't be able to tell you what they are.

He passes me a bowl and says, "Here, you can snack on that while I cook. Now, I'm not the best cook ever but I can make some damn good French toast. What do you think of that?"

I nod slowly as I say, "Sure."

I wonder what makes toast French, but I'm sure it'll taste just like the normal dark brown or black toast I'm used to receiving. I hear a woman's voice as she says, "Peelle's famous French toast? Count me in!" A younger girl yells, "Ooh, me too!"

I turn to look at them and I see an older woman with her daughter walk into the room. They both stopped and stared at me, and the older woman said, "Um... hi? Peelle, are you going to introduce me to your friend here?"

Peelle comes to my side and says, "Eda, this is my mom, Claudia and my sister, Alita. Mom, Alita, this is my mate, Eda."

My eyes widen from the fact he was already introducing me to his family. Soon, I'm wrapped in a tight motherly embrace as Claudia says, "It is an honor to meet you, Eda. I'm so happy you're here."

I nod slowly, and she says, "Oh, I need to go get Evan. Peelle, make sure to make enough for everyone, okay dear?"

Peelle calls out, "You got it, mom!"

Claudia runs off but his little sister, Alita, sits right beside me. She smiles, "So, Eda, why don't you tell us about you? Do you like to play video games?"

Peelle says her name, "Alita."

She looks at him wide eyed as she responds, "What?"

He huffs, "Don't overwhelm her."

She scoffs, "I'm not overwhelming her!" She looks at me and questions, "Am I overwhelming you?" I don't even have a chance to answer before she says, "See! I'm not overwhelming her!"

I notice the smell of a campfire enter the air and I know that Osborn is nearby. He clears his throat and I jump slightly from the sound. My eyes meet his light blue ones and he says, "I should formally introduce myself to you. My name is Osborn... Alpha Osborn." My eyes widen, and I realize that's why he has such a powerful aura, he's an Alpha! I bow my head as I say in a soft submissive tone, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Alpha. My name is Eda."

He breathes out and says, "Eda, I will have you know that we don't normally allow rogues in this pack. I'm making an exception with you only because you are mine and Peelle's m ate."

His mouth opened, and he was going to continue speaking until Claudia let out a loud gasp and I see a large man standing behind her. Claudia says, "You two have the same mate?" Osborn says in an aggravated tone, "It appears that way."

The tall man moves around Claudia and holds his hand out to me. His hand is massive, and I feel like a child as I shake his hand and he tells me, "My name is Evan, I'm Peelle and Osborn's father. It is an honor to have you here, Eda. We have waited for you for a very long time."

I let out a nervous smile as I don't know how to respond to his kind words. When Evan comes back by Claudia and puts his arm around her, she says to him quietly, "Doesn't she look familiar?" He nods, "She does."

I've never seen either of them before in my life. Maybe they know one of my parents? There's no telling. I don't even know who my dad is.

Evan looks at Osborn and says, "You must be thrilled, son! All this searching and you've finally found her."

He's been searching from me? I never would've guessed that he even cared about mates. He looks at me and I notice that his cheeks redden slightly, and he murmurs, "I'm going back to work."

I watch as he leaves and Alita says in a soft voice, "Don't take it personally, he's like that to everyone."

I nod slowly and Peelle asks, "How are you enjoying the fruit, Eda?"

I smile at him, “It's good, thank you, Peelle."

His family soon sits around the kitchen table and his mom asks me to move by them. I don't want to move away from Peelle, but I do so anyways. I feel uncomfortable around so many people, but I guess that's something I will have to get over. Peelle

I enjoy watching Eda with my family. My parents are tickled pink that Osborn and I have finally found our mate. Alita is enjoying speaking to her, but I can tell certain questions make her uncomfortable.

I can't help but wonder about her life before coming here. I get the feeling it may be hard to get to know her. She didn't know what to answer for her favorite food and seemed confused by the bowl of fruit I gave her.

The fruit was just pineapple, banana, and grapes, but she looked at it as if I put an alien in front of her.

I wish Osborn had stuck around me, but I suppose it's for the best that he didn't. He seems to make Eda feel uncomfortable.

She was quiet as my family talked and we all ate and once we were done, I took her hand and led her up the stairs. I tell her, "I'm sorry, I didn't know they were all going to join us."

She smiles softly, "It's fine. It was surprising to meet your family that fast, but I mean, it was going to happen eventually, right?"

She lets out a soft laugh that makes butterflies erupt in my stomach. I will work every day to make sure I get to hear that musical sound.

I bring her to the bedroom next to mine and I say, "My room is right next to yours so if you need me at any point, you can get me easily." She nods, "Okay."

She opens the door and then says, "Wait!"

I look at her with an eyebrow raised and she looks at me with confusion across her face, "This whole room is... mine?"

I nod as I chuckle, "Yeah, it is. What's wrong with it?"

She shakes her head and her mouth opens and closes as she tries to form her words. She finally says, "It's just so... so... big!"

I laugh, "Yeah, it's fit for a queen and that's what you deserve."

Eda shakes her head, "No, no, I don't. I'm nothing, Peelle. I don't deserve anything like this."

I grab her face and stare in her eyes as I say, "Don't say that about yourself. You're everything to me, Eda. I know we just met, but it's true. Already you are the reason I want to wake up tomorrow."

Her eyes are wide and her eyes flicker to my lips. I desperately want to kiss her, but I don't want to overwhelm her with too much too fast. I let go of her face and say, "We'll go shopping for some clothes that can fit you tomorrow, okay?" She whispers, "Okay... thank you, Peelle, for everything."

I nod and smile softly, "Anything for you, Eda."

She blushes as I close the door, and I hope I can always make her happy.
