Chloe's

POV

I heard Marcus' voice in my head and I whipped my head to the side only to see him leaping towards me, Titus holding him by the shoulder. Aww, my poor baby.

A smile made its way to my lips instantly and I was hoping towards him before I could even help myself with my stomach jutting out in front of me.

Love was indeed a stupid feeling, it was the only reason I was walking like a penguin towards the same personality who had embarrassed me constantly ever since we agreed to be together.

I could sense my siblings' subtle confusion, almost hearing the unspoken questions on their lips as they glared daggers at the back of my head but I was already in my man's arms to care about what anyone thinks. I understand their confusion, they really didn't understand the concepts of love yet. They thought I had completely lost it and they were very correct because true love equals madness.

It was the ability to look past your partner's flaws and still have deep feelings amidst all the resentments, that was exactly how I felt towards Marcus.

I love and hate him at the same time.

Mark and Lily were already sucking on each other's lips just by watching Marcus and I public display of affection.

Angelo growled in anger and we all withdrew instantly, embarrassment washing all our faces as we shifted from one foot to another.

As much as I tried to hide my shame and put on a strong stance despite the glares Angelo and Jason shot my way, I couldn't as their eyes went ablaze with anger.

They didn't have to spit it out to me, they had told me so many times but I wouldn't turn my back on my mate because of a minor misunderstanding.

My father would be watching and he would be glad I did this, fighting for the man I love just like my mother did for him.

"Why are you werewolves so stupid?" Jason asks and I look into his dark green eyes glittering with anger and guarded concern lurked in between.

Despite the fact that Jason was many years older than me, I felt the intense urge to slap senses into his head.

To make matters worse, my wolf was growling inside me threatening to push out and teach Jason a lesson while my demon smirked, feeling proud that her kind heart was able to rile my wolf up. "Stop Jason! Let's settle this amicably, you can't continue spewing insults like this and..."

"Shut up! Stop taking sides with that imbecile you call a husband, you make me wanna throw up."

I didn't talk this time, this was what I was trying to avoid from the onset. I didn't want to be caught in the middle of all of this, having to settle the dispute between my husband and brothers.

I wish my mother was here with me right now, she would have known the right words to say or what to do but I haven't seen her since the last time we had dinner at her house and she warned me to stay away for the meantime for reasons best known to her.

Deep down, I just want to cry all night long in her arms.

I didn't even know things had gotten heated until I heard Marcus growl.

I blinked only to see Mark holding Marcus which was hard by the way because it seemed he had tripled in strength all of a sudden while Lily stayed in a corner screaming and crying her eyes out.

"You've no fucking right to speak to my wife in that manner! Don't you ever try it you bloody imbecile, your mother is the only reason I'm tolerating you, you're just blowing this out of proportion!"

"I've every right to speak to my sister however I want, she was first my sister before she became your wife and she will remain my sister even if she decides to toss your filthy ass aside!"

"I'm warning you for the last time Jason, watch your words!" Marcus yelled, shoving Jason to the side roughly but he didn't budge. If he felt the impact of the push, I couldn't say because of how he stayed rooted to the ground.

I just facepalmed myself as I rubbed my temples tiredly, this was not how I planned to spend my birthday at all.

I just wanted to have a nice time and get fucked all night long and not settle dispute between two men.

"If I don't watch my words what are you going to do? If you had a bit of decency, if you learnt how to leave your tiny manhood in your pants, we wouldn't be having this conversation, you bastard!" Jason yelled as he charged towards Marcus again.

Angelo did nothing to calm him down, if anything he was more livid than Jason. It was just that he had a lot of self control unlike Jason.

I cringed hard when he described my husband's private organ in that manner. Marcus was everything but definitely not what Jason had described him to be, but I couldn't say that out loud because this was a serious issue. "Can you please stop!" I begged, my voice almost inaudible because of all the chaos.

"No! I won't stop!" Jason said as he continued raining blows on Marcus who was swift enough to dodge them, but Jason didn't relent.

Marcus was simply respecting him and I appreciated that but this was getting too much.

Jason was beginning to act animalistic when he was not a wolf and it was not a nice sight seeing my husband pinned to the ground.

It made me feel weak, that I couldn't protect my mate and control the situation.

Without thinking twice, I got in touch with Marcus through the mindlink and I gave Marcus the go ahead to do what he had in mind and he nodded.

The breaking of limbs and a loud thud was all that was needed to return everything to normalcy.
