Chloe's POV:

"I want to seek my grandfather out by myself-" "No!"

I hadn't even completed my request, when he yelled, a hard look taking over his features. I mirrored his expression, meeting him head-on. "What do you mean by that?" I snapped.

A muscle in his jaw twitched, his blue eyes darkening as he glared at me seriously. "You would not be seeking out your grandfather, it is too dangerous!"

Such... such a controlling wolf!

I scowled. "I thought we already talked about this? You are doing that thing again and I am not liking it one bit!"

He eyed me carefully, dropping back into his chair. "I told you that I will leave you make sensible decisions on your own, not completely horrible and stupid ones!"

I went to get up, but his arms tightened around my waist. "Let. Me. Go," I said through gritted teeth, but his hands only held me closer. His lips began to massage my neck, making my stomach churn with excitement. "Let... me... go," this time, my words sounded more reluctant.

"Do not run away from me," he said, whispering in my neck. He dropped a trail of kisses on my neck, his lips coming to rest on my collarbone. "I can't let you run away from me, ever!"

His teeth sank into my collarbone and I hissed, my head falling back. I grabbed his own head in between my hands, not knowing if I was pushing him away or holding him closer. I felt his finger tips caress my stomach and that was when I felt him raising my shirt. I grabbed his hand, pulling my neck away from his lips.

"Don't think you can confuse me with a few kisses," I said, looking down at him. "Do not fight me on this one please, you promised that you would support my decisions."

"Not when it threatens your life so."

My lips thinned, as I considered him for a while. "So, what's the plan?" I asked, folding my arms across my chest.

A little smile formed on his lips. "Just the question I have been waiting for you to ask." He heaved a sigh, his eyes lowering for a second before rising back up to meet mine. "As much as I hate to, we are going to do this together. Every step of the way, I would hold your hand. The battle is no longer yours alone, but mine as well. Anyone who hurts you, also hurt me. We won't stop, until we squeeze the last breath out of them!"

I gave his a large grin. "Aren't you the husband of the year? You make me fall deeper in love with you everytime, all the time and I want to keep doing that until I breath my last."

In reply to my own love confession, he grabbed my head, pulling my lips to his and sealing them in a kiss. I returned it with equal fervour, giving his access to slip his tongue into my mouth. After some heated minutes of passionate kissing, he finally released my lips, locking or foreheads together as we breathed softly in one accord.

"I love you more, you know that," he whispered. We sat that way again in silence, just stealing smiles at each other. "Had something to eat?"

"Nope. I just woke up, had a shower and came straight down here to look for you. I want to go outside, I want to see the lands."

He gave me a knowing smile. "You already know this lands more than some that have been in here for centuries, you are one of the biggest wanderers I know."

I gave him a toothy grin. "Oh I do alright, I just don't want to wander around this time, I want to do some sight seeing." I clapped in excitement, bouncing on him. I laughed, when he groaned, his hard erection poking under my arse. "You better stop thinking of that, we have got places to be boy."

I went to get off of him, but he grabbed me, holding me down against him. "Let's stay here a little longer, I could give you something better you know." He wink, moving himself under me.

I would be telling a lie if I said his hard on, pressing so demandingly against my arse wasn't making me sexually aroused. But I didn't want to spend the whole day stuck in bed, I had places to be. My husband wasn't a 'few minutes man', we could go at it for hours without end and he wouldn't be even a wee exhausted.

"No sweetie," I wagged a finger in his face, slapping my tongue against my teeth. "I would not like to stay in here longer, but I would appreciate getting some food in my stomach and going about the place just as I had earlier intended to." His face fell, but he didn't argue, only slightly pushing me off him. I got on my feet and he got up too, grabbing my hand and leading me out of the office.

We strolled hand in hand towards the dinning room, where lunch had been aced on the table. We helped ourselves to a satisfying and delicious meal of lasagna and some apple juice, then went back upstairs to put on some clothes that were more presentable for the outside.

I went into the closet, grabbing a red sweater, jeans pants and some kind ankle boots. Then I held my hair up with a rubber band, letting the little tendrils frail out at the front. I admired myself in the mirror, loving how my eyes looked hard and not sad. Concerning other petty feelings like sadness and grief, those things were at the back of my mind. For now, I needed revenge and bloodshed! I would grieve later...

I stepped out to see Marcus sitting on the bed with a similar dressing to mine. He wore a red sweater but his jeans were black while mine were blue. Then his short brown hair was brushed back, making his look younger than he already looked. "Ready?" He asked, smiling at me.

"Yep!"

He bounced on his feet, stretching an arm towards me which I took and we walked out.

We strode out of the house, swinging our hands as we went. I lifted my face up in the air, taking in a big breath, then released an even bigger one. My head turned to the side, staring at Marcus who was looking ahead unlike me, and I felt how much I had longed for something like this.

"Where are we going to first?"

He gave a a little smile. "Don't worry, just sit back and enjoy the tour.

I did as he had asked, letting him lead me where he wanted to. Soon, we past the bigger house and got into the more crowded parts of the pack village. This was where the rest of the pack who were not royals stayed. I had been here once or twice, trying as much as possible to avoid being seen. I hated crowds, so it was always a problem coming here. I preferred to keep to the woods, they were more concealing...

***

Evening was fast approaching. By now, we had visited the bakery, the pack school, the little boutique that was managed by an Omega family and the jewelry shop.

I had a lot of fun going around and talking to the people, spending time with the children and getting to know my subjects. They seemed to also enjoy my company and I received a lot of little gifts from them, including a baby's blanket. It really did warm my heart and for the first time, I thought about what it would be like to have little children who had striking similarities to Marcus and I, running around the palace and making me scream my lungs out.

We went home just as the sun started to set. I dropped my gifts on the bed, making a mental note to store them away later. I didn't feel like retiring for the night, so I asked Marcus that we should go into the woods and have some more air. Luckily, he agreed and we went right into the woods.

We were now sitting by the lakeside. Marcus had shifted into his big black wolf and his hairy head rested on my lap. I stroked his furs, loving how he groaned softly and his tongue hung out of his mouth as he panted softly.

We just sat there, enjoying the cool evening and each other's company. My mind went back to earlier, when the old Beta she-wolf had handed me the blue and pink fur blanket. She said she blessed it with love and wished that I be blessed with a child soon.

"What child would you want us to have first? A boy or a girl?"

His wolf licked my hand, while I waited for the person within it to respond. I did have to wait for too long before I heard his voice in my head. Three. A boy and two girls are enough for me.

I smiled at his reply, asking him to shift. Immediately he did, I pushed his head off my thighs and got on my feet. I stretched out a hand to him. "Come on, let's dance."

He was reluctant at first, but still took my hand. He danced so beautifully and I had to remind myself that he could have been doing stuff like this for a couple of centuries.

He laid my head on his chest, my eyes fluttering shut as I relish in our cool romantic moment. I knew this was just the calm, a storm (which could swallow up everyone if we weren't careful) was fast approaching and I was going enjoy this calm as much as I could, not letting any bitter thoughts get in the way.

Marcus smiled down at me, quickly twirling me around. Just as he spun me and I laughed, we both increased our speed and I spun with vampire speed. If a person with normal eyes was watching, he would get dizzy and collapse from how fast my moments were. He lifted me up into the air and I opened my arms, letting the wind blow into my face as I enjoyed our little 'musicless' dance.

It was dark by the time we stopped with the twirling and flinging up in the air. Now we just stood in each other's arms, gazing into each other's eyes. We swayed from foot to foot, left to right in a slow dance, with my arms tightly secured around his neck.

"I love you."

I gave him a dazzling smile. "I love you more," I whispered back.

"Nah," he shook his head in denial, his eyes glinting with amusement. "I love you more and we both know it."

"Ay! That's not true!"

A deep chuckle rumbled out of his mouth. "Whatever helps you sleep at night then." My mouth fell open at his deadpanning, and that seemed to have amused him greatly because he gave out a hearty laugh and I couldn't help the smile that snuck to my lips.

"That's not fair, you kno-"

Whip!

Our head moved apart quickly, just to avoid the arrow that had been shot between us and what now planted in the trees just beside the lake. We definitely hadn't heard that coming but before the next one could reach too close, I shoved Marcus to the floor and a series of arrows shot past us and some landed in the lake while others imbedded in trees and the earth.

Marcus groaned, holding me protectively, as we both looked around frantically, our heart beating so loud that I could hear the thundering in my chest.

Soon we heard roared and about two dozen werewolves ran out of the woods and surrounded us, immediately shifting into big wolves. Some hopped from the trees, shifting mid air before landing on their paws.

We had been cornered, and while I knew I could singlehandedly take them all down, it also scared me of how easily we had been ambushed and we hadn't even seen the danger coming. How could we have been so careless?! We rose to our feet, standing back against back as we faced the enemies. What the fuck is going on?!

The hell I know! Marcus shot back. He roared dangerously at them. "Who the hell sent you, who?!" "I did."
