Chloe's

POV:

"I will see you later," I said, walking around the desk to drop a peck on Marcus's lips. I went to leave, when he grabbed my arm and pulled me down on his lap, joining our lips in a breathtaking kiss. "What was that about?" I asked with a giggle. He smiled sheepishly at me, his cheeks coloring a bright red (which looked absolutely adorable). "I will miss you while you are out there, please don't keep too far from the pack land. The barrier has been put back in place and for that, I am very sure that it was someone of a high rank who had betrayed us all. I want you to watch your back after every step."

I took in his serious look and nodded, not wanting to fight him on this. He was not wrong, we had the enemy close to us. Maybe it was someone even closer to us than we thought, we couldn't be sure anymore! "I will see you when I get back, you take care of yourself."

I went to get off his leg, but his grip only tightened, making me look up at him with one eyebrow raised in a silent question. "What is it again?" I almost whined, getting tired with being indoors all morning and him not letting me look after the things I wanted to.

"Lest I forget, what were you trying to do early, when you offered to go with Edwin? Are you trying to rile me up or something?"

His voice sounded strained like he was trying not to tell me. He glared pointedly at me, as if waiting for my reply and I shrugged, not breaking eye contact with him. "A shrug?" He asked in a disbelieving tone of voice. "I ask you a serious question and you shrug?"

"What do you want me to say?" I asked with wide spread arms. "It helped, didn't it? That was me trying to make him not take me and surprisingly, it worked!"

He kept staring at me like I had suddenly grown two heads, or like I was some alien who just fell right out of space and landed on his roof. "And what if your plan hadn't worked, what if he had taken you?"

I sighed dramatically, wiping off a non-existent sweat from my forehead. "Let us look at the positive side of it honey. It had worked out just as I planned, had it not?"

He shook his head, hitting his tongue against his teeth. "You really are something..."

Giving him a wide grin, making sure to put a lot of teeth on display, I said: "is that a bad thing? Do you not like it that I am smart and quick and courageous and-"

"Okay, okay, okay," he interjected, raising his hands up in mock surrender. "I get it that you are everything I would ever want in my Luna-"

"Awwn," I cooed, caressing his beards with my finger tips.

"-but you should get going, your ranting is beginning to tire me out and surprisingly, the day is still quite young."

I shot him a glare, giving his chest a hard push as I got off him and started heading out the door. "Aren't you qualified to win the 'Mr romantic' award for the year? You are just so sweet, always saying the right things to charm a lady." My sarcasm didn't go unnoticed.

I slammed his office door, alongside his chuckle. I marched across the leaving room and out the front door, breathing in deeply, as the cold air met my face. My thought had been to take Lily with me, but she wasn't my most favorite person at the moment. I was truly alone now and I had to do it on my own.

I went to the training grounds first, hearing how swords hit against swords, paws scratched against skin and thunderous roars reached my ear. I could hear Titus screaming orders at them and I could see that he was taking his assignment seriously. With what Lily had explained early about Mark's absence at home and how he had been busy going in and out of town, it was also obvious that he was also taking the orders he had been given, seriously.

Silence fell upon the once 'noise filled' ground, as I stepped into their quadrangle. My eyes met with Titus's and he passed me a smile but I frowned, shifting that he hadn't suddenly earned my forgiveness and made us the best of friends. "Ehem!" He cleared his throat, stepped forward and gave me a deep bow. He tried to hold my gaze but I avoided him, my eyes surveying the other soldiers who had also dropped their heads in deep bows. "Luna Chloe, why do I owe you your visit?"

That was when I met his eyes. "I came to see how the training was going, I needed to be sure that the people were all taking their duties seriously." A look of hurt crossed his face and I almost felt bad for a minute, but changed my mind when I remembered what he had done. An idea started to form in my head. "I am glad that you all are doing well, keep up the good work!"

They all grunted in agreement and I turned around and slowly began walking away, all the whole praying that my plan should work. I fought to fist bump in the air, when I felt Titus following behind me, until his footsteps fell in place beside mine.

"Chloe!"

"It is Luna Chloe to you, you dimwit," I snapped. "What is it?"

He was silent for a while, as we strolled out and got under the open sky. I halted, turning to him and he also turned to face me, a sigh escaping his lips as a sorrowful look took over his features. "I am so sorry for what I did, I should not have done that and I truly regret my actions."

"Only regretting your actions, would not undo what has been already done," I hissed. "What the hell were you even thinking? How dare you take advantage of me like that?!"
