We took a step away from each other, and both turned to look at Chloe who marched up to us and halted right in front of Jason. Wham!

His face whipped to the side, as Chloe's hand collided with it. Red strikes were printed on his jaw due to the force of the slap. He slowly turned to her with a deathly glare.

She met him glare for glare, squaring her shoulders as she spat in his face. "How dare you still drag my father's name even after his death? How dare you blame him for the mess that we had let ourselves get caught up in? How dare you insult the love he and mother had for each other, how dare you?!"

Jason didn't utter a word, he just kept glaring.

"You can never know what love is, not with how cold your heart is. None of you can ever know what it feels to be loved and only your presence makes me feel like I am about to die," Chloe said, her voice coming out shaky. "I know you don't like me, you never did. And I know you still blame me for my mother's death!"

Jason gave off a humorless laugh. "Of course you are! If not for you, mother would still be very much alive and we would have been happier! Why did you have to be born!" Angelo tried to stop him, but he brushed him off. "It was and would still be better without you!"

I gasped in shock at his harsh words. I heard Chloe drag a sharp and before I could turn to get a good look at her, she turned around and ran out the door. I turned my gaze back to Jason, who was looking at the open door with a look I couldn't decipher, casted upon his face. "What have you done?! I want you both off my land, before I unleash what I had to chase you out the last time."

Angelo tensed.

He ran his fingers through his hair, muttering curses under his breath. Not wanting to be in the same space as him for too long, I gave a curt nod to Angelo then turned and went after Chloe.

I could hear her sobs from our room upstairs. When I turned the knob and the door opened, I was glad that she had not locked me out. My eyes lowered down to where she sat on the floor by the bed, her knees raised up and her face buried in them. Her body shook with every sob that left her, making my heart twist painfully.

"Baby..." she cried, her teary face coming up to meet me. I went towards her and she moved into my eyes, her body shaking violently as she sobbed. "Had I really been the cause of my parent's death? I never wanted them to die, I never-" "Shh baby, it's okay," I cooed, tenderly stroking her hair. "None of it is your fault, you didn't do anything and are just a victim in your grandfather's games. Your brother, he s a fool to ever think you are a threat to anything or anyone for that matter, you are an angel."

My angel...

I held her that way, rocking her back and forth. She sobbed for a long time before her cries died down into little sniffs. I helped her off the ground, helping her sit up on the bed. "Have my brothers left already?"

"They should have, "I said. "I asked them to be gone by the time I go back downstairs. I am sorry that Jason caused you so much pain, I wish there was anything I could do to help."

She sighed, her tear stained face falling into something more painful. "We didn't even get to talk, I was hoping that we would be able to get along and help each other. My mom would be so bitter, she would roll over in her grave!" I kept silent, just listening to her as she complained. She talked for over an hour, pouring out her frustration and anger, while all I did was listen.

Meanwhile: Jason was frustrated, having regrets over how he had acted with Chloe. He had not meant to speak or act with her in such a bad manner, but he snapped when he saw another werewolf close to her. It also didn't help with the way she strikingly resemble their mother, it reminded him of everything that happened and the fears and anxiety set in.

"You have messed up big time," Angelo scolded. "Now you have ruined every relationship that we had been trying to build up. Just think about mother, how would she have felt if she was here? Would she be happy?"

Jason met his brother's eyes, preparing to argue but then, his shoulders slumped in defeat. "She would be disappointed in me." A look of regret flickered across his features. "I should apologize to her, and her wolf as well," he gritted out the last part.

"Phew!" Angelo released a breath, gaining his attention. "That can wait, I have far more important information for you." He saw that he now had his brother's attention, so he went ahead. "Grandfather has been visiting Chloe," he said. Jason's face paled, his entire body stilled as if he had just seen a ghost. He searched Angelo's eyes to see any hint of a joke, but Angelo looked completely serious. "Since when has this been happening?"

"For months. The first time he had come to her, was even before I paid her her first visit. He came to her on the day of the wedding," he accused, giving Jason a dark glare. "I thought you said no one had seen you?" Jason shook his head in disbelief. "But I had been careful," he muttered to himself. "I am very sure that no one had seen me or had someone?"

Angelo scoffed, stretching forth his hand to Jason. "Here, I want you to see something." He let Jason see all of his thoughts, until he reached a particular one and he stiffened, a muscle in his jaw ticked and he gave out an angry growl.
