Alpha's One Night Bride -
Alpha’s One Night Bride – Chapter 10
The wedding was simple, which is exactly what I wanted. It was held in the gardens of Sabrebite, overlooking the changing colors of the autumn leaves. The full moon was at the peak of the sky, shining its essence on the events taking place below. Leaves of reds and oranges were scattered across the cobblestone walkway and crunched under my bare toes as I walked down the aisle.
The crisp air danced around my features and sent a chill through my body. At that moment, I wished more than ever that my mother could have been there. It felt almost wrong to have a wedding without her presence. Though at the same time, the way the air had splashes of warmth as the wind picked up, allowing for the leaves to circulate around my feet as I walked, I knew it was my mother walking with me. I could feel the love she brought to me on this very day. The same love that danced in the eyes of Jonathan as he watched me carry myself to him.
I held the bouquet in my hands tightly; my fingers trembling with nerves. The bouquet was made up of different colors to match the autumn aura; peony, lilacs, dahlia, and orchids fell freely around me as I allowed for the flowers to join the leaves that surrounded me.
I noticed almost right away that Jonathan had set up guards on both sides of the wedding. They were all dressed in dark suits and maroon ties. For a few moments they were distracted by my presence; each of them in awe as I looked amongst each of them and smiled my thanks for their protection.
Familiar eyes stared in my direction as I continued to walk. My eyes caught Jess’s. She sat at the front of the row near Jonathan; her eyes filled with curiosity and wonder as I slowly made my way towards them. Beside Jess sat misty eyes Essie and her husband Edward, whom I was able to meet before the wedding took place.
We decided not to have a groom’s side and a bride’s side at the wedding. We wanted to show the packs that we thought of each one of them as part of both of our families.
As my maid of honor, Jessica stood nearby looking as radiant as ever. Her soft yellow dress illuminated her fair features. The yellow in her dress brought out the yellow in the orchid that was pinned just right of her left breast. The groomsmen, Gregory and Erick wore dark suits both with yellow orchids pinned beside their white ties. Jonathan’s best man, Anderson, wore a dark suit as well but with a yellow tie and his orchid was white.
My breathing got caught in my throat as Jonathan made his way towards me; draping his fingers through mine he pulled me close to him. I felt embarrassed knowing that everybody was watching us. Timidly, I kept his eye contact.
This whole thing felt surreal.
“Are you ready?” He asked, only for me to hear. I didn’t answer him with my words. I leaned up on my toes and kissed the corner of his mouth gently.
Together, we walked to the end of the aisle and stood before one another. Marking our claim on one another in front of our family and friends; in front of our packs. Joining together as two wolves and vowing to love one another until the end.
A vow I didn’t intend to break.
As he slipped the ring onto my finger and the sapphire gemstone was brought together with the diamond band, I realized how much I truly loved Jonathan. I felt safe with him; I felt protected; I felt loved. Jonathan was my home and I wanted nothing more than to be his luna.
His lips brushed against mine gently as the crowd began to howl in excitement.
I deepened the k**s, wrapped my arms around his neck, and pulled my body closer to his. Feeling his strong build enclosing my body, keeping me in a tight embrace. His fingertips traced the spine of my back and rested just below my waist.
It wasn’t until Jessica cleared her throat behind me to stifle her laughter, that I realized that others were watching us. I pulled away from Jonathan awkwardly; he remained breathless as he brushed his fingers through his hair sheepishly.
“When the time is right, I will mark you as my luna,” he whispered, humor dancing in his eyes. I felt my cheeks blushing, knowing exactly what he meant.
I was drunk when we last had s*x, so I hardly remember the full details of that night. But I remember how it made me feel and how confused I was afterward. That was my first time, and it was with someone I thought of like my brother. Now he stands before me as not my brother, but my husband.
I am his luna and I knew that meant I was going to need to have s*x with him for him to officially mark me as his. But that didn’t mean I was ready for that.
Assessing my face, he added, “We can go your speed.”
I smiled at his reassurance.
As I turned to face the others, my eyes caught Alpha Rock’s, standing at the entrance to the gardens. Melissa and Ronnie stood on both sides of him, looking almost embarrassed to be there. Though Ronnie looked more annoyed than anything.
Alpha Rock’s piercing dark eyes never left me; I could feel the hardness in my throat closing around my air passage. His thin lips grew thinner as a scowl appeared on his face.
Before I could say anything, Jonathan was already stepping in front of me. Blocking the view to my father.
“You have no business being here,” Jonathan’s voice boomed in his Alpha tone. Others turned to face Alpha Rock while exchanging questioning looks. Murmurers began erupting through the crowd.
“It’s my daughter’s wedding; why wouldn’t I be here?” Alpha Rock stated.
“If my memory serves correctly, you weren’t invited,” Jonathan reminded him.
“You invite my pack, you invite me,” he insisted.
“You have hurt her for the last time. She is my luna and I will stop at nothing to be sure of her safety,” Jonathan argued.
“You don’t seriously think you can keep me from my daughter, do you son?” Alpha Rock asked, mocking humor behind his words.
“I’m not your son,” Jonathan said between gritted teeth.
Moving around Jonathan to face my father, I added, “And I’m not your daughter.”
“You will regret those words,” Alpha Rock said, eyeing me. I could see the hate in his gaze; the disgust that lingered behind his eyes.
Swallowing hard, I took a step back.
“Remove them!” Jonathan ordered his guards. Without hesitation they moved towards Alpha Rock, Melissa, and Ronnie, forcibly removing them from our presence.
I hadn’t realized I was holding my breath until they were finally gone, and I could finally breathe. Staring at Jonathan, all I wanted to do was curl up and begin crying, but I couldn’t do that here. I refused to show our packs any signs of weakness; I was the luna of an Alpha and I needed to remain strong.
Jonathan kept his fingers tightly around my wrist in a protective manner; I could feel how tense he was, and I wanted to assure him that I was alright. I opened my mouth to speak but only a small squeak came out.
I bit my l*p hard to keep from sobbing. I tasted the warm b***d washing over my tongue as my sharp teeth dug through the soft flesh of my l*p. Startled Jonathan took my chin and pulled it down, releasing my l*p from the grip of my teeth.
“Thank you…” was all I managed to say.
…
(Alpha Rock)
“That disobedient little bitch!” Melissa hissed as Rock, Ronnie, Melissa returned home after being kicked out of the wedding. “Who the hell does she think she is.”
“Kicking us out of her wedding like that? What will the pack think of us?” Ronnie huffed.
“It doesn’t matter. They know me as their Alpha, so they will think what I tell them to think,” Rock assured his family. “Emlin was always threatening to turn Ironclaw against me and I never worried about it then. I’m not about it worry about it now.”
“Yeah, but Emlin was easy to silence. Arina won’t be as easy with Jonathan there to protect her,” Melissa reminded him.
“Trust me, I know how to handle my daughter,” Rock shot back.
“Then we need to make a move quickly before the packs turn against us,” Melissa said, urgency in her tone.
“I’ll move at my own pace,” Rock said, moving past her.
“How is it fair that Arina is the one that gets to marry Alpha Jonathan?” Ronnie huffed, folding her arms across her chest.
“Ronnie, not now,” Melissa shot back.
“I promise you; you will have a wedding ten times better than that,” Rock assured her.
“We need a plan,” Melissa told him, stepping closer to her husband. “I don’t know if the packs will by the fact that she drank poison like her bitch of a mother.”
“Keep your voice down!” Rock’s voice boomed in his Alpha tone as his hand sliced through the flesh on Melissa’s cheek, leaving a trail of b***d down the side of her face. “We made a vow to not speak of that night out loud. Do not break that vow again.”
Baffled, Melissa stood there saying nothing.
Lowering his voice, Rock added, “Besides, we need Jonathan if we want the business to expand. This means we need Arina alive for right now. She’s going to be our ticket in.”
