Alpha's One Night Bride -
Alpha’s One Night Bride – Chapter 77
Jessica’s wedding was fast approaching. As time went on, I was growing even more apprehensive. My last encounter with Greggory seemed a bit off. When I knew him back in Moon-Valley, when I went to the art school, he was always flirting. I didn’t mind him though; we had a fairly good relationship considering he was the Alpha.
Not much we can do about how Alphas behave; Rock is living proof of that. But I never had an issue with Greggory. He was a really good leader and people around him respected him. He also befriended Jonathan when Jonathan used to visit me at school. Greggory became really good friends to a point where Jonathan would consider him as a best friend.
They would go to parties together and hang out as a group with Anderson and Erick, amongst some others of Greggory’s friends from Moon-Valley.
Jess looked up to Greggory as well; he was about 5 years older than us and one of the youngest Alpha’s known. His father passed away at an early age from a fast-moving and rare disease. Greggory took over as Alpha at the young age of 15. Which is something we strongly admired about him.
As good as an Alpha as he was and as respected as he was, he was still just a kid like the rest of us. When he became the Alpha, he couldn’t even transition into a full werewolf; but there was no one else who could take the place. The only person he had was his father; his mother abandoned him at birth and his father wasn’t in contact with any other family on either side.
The Moon-Valley pack was his family, and he was lucky enough to have them by his side and help him every step of the way. He was even luckier when he met and befriended Jonathan because Jonathan was 16 and gained the full ability to transition. So, when Greggory needed wolf muscles, Jonathan was always there to help him. Once Greggory turned 16, he was even more powerful and even more respected amongst the pack.
But his personality never really changed; he was still a kid and still just wanted to have fun on the side when he wasn’t working to lead and protect his pack. I think that’s why he liked Jonathan so much. Because Jonathan has always been a free spirit and loved to party, whenever they hung out it allowed Greggory to let loose a little bit and enjoy life for a change.
Then, Jonathan stopped coming around. I thought it was because I missed his bar mitzvah, but it ended up being because he needed to give me space to grow considering he had just found out that I was his mate. He didn’t want to ruin things with me so early, especially with how he was feeling towards me. He didn’t want to scare me away and disrupt the mating process. Once I turned 18, I would have figured out he was my mate as well and the natural pull would bring us back together. I would be linked to him until he marks me as his.
I didn’t know it at the time, but I guess Jonathan and Greggory kept in touch for all those years we’ve been apart. Even though Jonathan wouldn’t come to see me, that didn’t mean that Greggory didn’t go see him. They remained really good friends, which I was pleased to hear because they were always a good team. Greggory made a good addition to their friend circle.
Jessica had always admitted Greggory, that much was obvious. I don’t think she had a crush on him per-se, but she definitely found him attractive and thought of him to be a good leader. She liked the fact that he was young and not only physically strong but strong in spirit as well.
Greggory being Greggory, though, was always a flirt with the ladies. Including both Jessica and me. We typically just laughed it off because it was harmless flirting and didn’t typically mean much. But other ladies would nearly fall at his feet. He usually sleeps with them too, but no long-term relationship would ever take place.
Until he turned 17 and met Rachel; she was the new wolf in the pack. She was 18 and gorgeous with her long dirty blonde silky hair and sapphire blue eyes with golden speckles throughout the coloring of blue. Her fair skin brought out her bright and colorful features; she wore a lot of makeup that highlighted her features, but she made it work really well. She was thin figured but had a large set of breasts that she nearly always showed off through her tight-fitted clothing.
Even I was in awe of her beauty, and a bit envious if I were, to be honest. Greggory fell in love with her, or so he says, claiming that she was his mate. I’m not sure if they were actually mates, or if he was just saying that to get her to be his, or vice versa. But once they both turned 18, they married, and she became his luna. Together they lead Moon-Valley as the power couple.
You’d think that’s when the flirting would stop. But no.
Greggory still made his way around the town, flirting with all the pretty girls. I would consistently tell him that he needed to cut the shit before he loses a good thing, but he swore that he doesn’t touch any of these ladies anymore. I never believed him because there were rumors that these women would start around town about how they had the best s*x of their lives the night before, with, you guessed it, Greggory.
I would just roll my eyes at the rumors and thought of it. I stopped trying to convince him to stop because he was never going to listen anyways.
I stopped talking to Greggory and I’m not sure if he still talks to Jonathan, but Jonathan hasn’t mentioned him in a long while. At least not since the wedding. The last I saw of Greggory was Anderson’s funeral and he didn’t say much. Which I found odd because they were friends too.
I wasn’t expecting Jessica to come to me one day and tell me that she and Greggory were mates and that she was to marry him. I thought she was joking at first; she knew what Greggory he was about and was married to the beautiful Rachel. It didn’t make sense to me. She even caught Greggory and Rachel having s*x when Greggory told her that his marriage was practically over.
It didn’t look over.
But now, from my understanding, Greggory and Rachel had officially separated last month and now he was marrying Jessica. It gave me an uneasy feeling, even though I agreed to be Jessica’s maid of honor. I mean, she’s my best friend. What else was I supposed to do? I couldn’t risk damaging our friendship.
I was surprised that Ronnie agreed to be the bridesmaid. She’s been majorly depressed since Erick left with Jonathan to tend to the war. Not that I wasn’t worried or upset myself, but I had faith that Jonathan was going to put an end to the war, just as Benjamin Davis had, and return to us unharmed.
I managed to get Ronnie out of bed and dressed for Jessica’s wedding, which was taking place soon.
Jessica sent us beautiful salmon pink gowns with a shimmering row of diamonds from the corner of our right breasts and down to our left h*p. The noodle straps of the dress went out our necks and the gown hugged our figures, but then expanded around our legs, the lacy fabrics falling to the floor and covering our feet.
I kept my hair down but tied it out of my face; allowing for my curly blond locks of hair to fall down my back and down to my waist side. Ronnie threw her curly red hair up in a neatly combed bun.
Jessica was having her wedding in the rose garden of Moon-valley; it’s been one of her favorite places since she was a kid. It was mid-spring, so the roses were at mid-bloom and the green of the leaves was bright and vibrant. She placed the chairs, for the guests, on the leafy green grass and used the cobblestone walkway as the aisle to where Greggory stood in his dark suit and tie.
His groomsmen and best man stood beside him, all cheering him on like they were part of some frat. Ronnie and I stood with a couple of other girls wearing identical dresses as Jessica’s Bridesmaids. I recognized the girls to be Jessica’s friends from when I used to live here. I didn’t talk to them much, but I knew them by association.
Jessica was gorgeous; her white gown was strapless, but it was a simple elegant gown that had roses stitched around her waist and down the sides of the lacy fabrics that fell around her feet and trailed out behind her.
I had to admit that her boobs looked amazing in that dress.
Her silky blonde hair was curled by iron and threw up in a curly bun with small curls going down the sides of her narrow features. She held a bouquet of pink roses, which matched the pink roses that were placed neatly around her curly bun.
I had never seen her look as happy as she did at that moment. Even Ronnie was in awe of her beauty. She was more beautiful than Rachel had ever been; not that it was a competition. But I’m sure it’s something she’s thought about.
Jessica was escorted by her father; he was much older and needed a walker to get around. Her parents had Jessica later in life; she was their only child. She was a miracle child honestly; Jessica’s mother, who sat in the first row with misty eyes, was told that she couldn’t have children. But then she ended up pregnant with Jessica.
Jessica and her father made their way down the cobblestone aisle and stopped once they reached Greggory. Jessica kissed her father on his cheek; he whispered something to her that I couldn’t hear, then he joined his wife in the front row.
I gave Jessica a reassuring smile and mouthed, “You’re so beautiful,” as she took her place between Greggory and me.
The pastor went in to talk about joining the two for marriage and for better for worst, blah blah. I wasn’t paying much attention because my mind went back to Jonathan, and I thought of our wedding day.
Besides giving birth to Emee, who was being taken care of by Jess in Sabrebite, my wedding day was the happiest day of my life. Marrying Jonathan, my best friend, my life mate since birth, was the best moment I’ve ever had. I knew exactly how Jessica felt, but I also knew how Greggory was and I hoped he wasn’t playing Jessica for a fool.
His friends were acting like this was some kind of frat party and kept talking over the pastor. The pastor kept giving them dirty looks and some of the guests, including Jessica’s mother, kept shushing them. I rolled my eyes because of how annoying they were.
Jessica didn’t seem to notice though; she was too fixated on Greggory.
Once the pastor stopped speaking, Greggory marked Jessica as his by transitioning his hand into his wolf’s paw and slicing through Jessica’s flesh on the back of her shoulder blade. B***d trickled down quickly but thankfully they were able to stop it from ruining her gown. The pastor sprinkled a cloud of dust on the wound to stop it from bleeding and to stop it from healing properly. That way it would be a permanent pink fleshy scarring on her shoulder blade.
As they kissed, the guests stood up and began clapping. Tears were running down Jessica’s eyes as the ceremony began to wrap up.
Guests began to surround them to congratulate them on their marriage; we were about to head over to the reception area to celebrate their new marriage. They had tables with chairs, food, and an area for dancing with a live band, set up in the center of the whole garden. The center was an open area, perfect for a party.
Each table had a name place; Ronnie and I sat beside one another at the main table with the other Bridesmaids, Groomsmen, and Best Man, along with Jessica and Greggory. In the center of the table was a three-layer cake with vanilla frosting and pink swirls of icing and pink roses going diagonally down each layer.
The other tables had a vase of different colored roses in the center along with pink and purple candles.
There was a live band set up at the far end of the venue playing music. Upon entering, guests were already dancing and mingling.
As Jessica mingled with some of the guests, thanking them for coming, Greggory approached me at the table. I was alone with Ronnie, neither of us saying much of anything due to having too much on our minds. But Greggory found that to be an opportunity to say something to us.
“Ladies,” he said to us as he stopped in front of us.
I tried my best to smile at him; I didn’t want him to know I was suspicious of him for Jessica’s sake.
“Congratulations,” I told him, standing to give him a quick hug.
“No Emee?” He asked as I pulled away from him.
“No,” I told him, eyeing him carefully; I didn’t like the fact that he was bringing my daughter up. “She’s home with her grandmother. A wedding isn’t a place for a baby.”
“I wouldn’t be away from her for too long. You never know what’ll happen…” he said as he turned away and walked toward Jessica.
There was something about his tone that gave me chills down my spine. I frowned and looked at Ronnie who was also frowning and staring off in the direction Greggory walked into. I was glad she was there to see that, so I knew I wasn’t losing my mind.
“That was weird…” she said, looking at me curiously.
I couldn’t have said that better myself. It was weird; it was almost like a threat, but also it seemed like a genuine warning.
At that moment, I wanted to go home to Emee, but I also didn’t want to bail on Jessica.
“Oh my goddess…” Ronnie breathed, standing up slowly.
I followed her gaze to whatever she was looking at in the far distance of the garden entrance. Two gentlemen stood in their suits and ties, looking as handsome as ever. They were both scanning the venue until their eyes landed on us. Both of them broke out into relieved smiles once they found us; my legs nearly went weak, preventing me from running toward them.
That didn’t stop Ronnie though; she burst into tears and went full sprint in their direction.
Erick laughed as Ronnie jumped into him, wrapping her arms around his neck, and pulling him close. Now it was my turn to run towards Jonathan; my body was trembling, and I felt tears running down my cheeks as he wrapped me in his arms and held me close to his chest.
“Sorry we are late,” Jonathan said softly against my ear.
