Alpha’s Slave Luna -
Chapter 70
Otis's POV:
After parting with Conrad, I took a small group of wolves to the old people and children's settlement.
The old men and children seemed to have gotten word of the Dusk Pack attack, and their faces were filled with panic and fear as they staggered through the houses, seemingly preparing their luggage for the trip.
The snowflakes dancing in the sky made the place covered with a bit of sky, because these snow became wet ground after the temperature dropped has appeared some snow, it is estimated that it will not be long before the ground will be spread into white. The air became much colder, but it was on such a cold night that I had to take these Blue-moon Pack clansmen who could not fight to a safe place.
"Everyone go to help the clan to organize their luggage, we have to go to the safe area as soon as possible, can not let the aftermath of the battle to reach here."
I looked at the small group of werewolf warriors behind me with a serious face, and then I walked into an old man's home.
It was an old female werewolf, wrinkles made her face look like the bark of a tree covered with signs of age, she looked frail, but she had to take some necessary supplies for her home.
At her side there was a little boy with golden hair who was helping her carry some things. When I walked into the house the little boy seemed to notice me and he looked at me with some curiosity. "Sister, are you here to help us."
I showed a smile at this moment, the little boy's childish expression as if there was no connection with this big battle, but what he said made me feel that there was some heartache.
"That's right little brother, I'll take your luggage for you, we have to follow the troops to the safe zone as soon as possible."
"Great, thanks sister, I still don't know how to take so many of our things!"
This time I heard the little boy's excited voice, his pure cheeks were like moonlight without impurities, his cheeks were round like a ball, and my heart touched a little.
This is the clan without the ability to fight, but also the clan we must guard, I swear to the moon god, I must protect them in this battle.
"Nell, don't make a scene."
Suddenly the older woman rebuked the young boy, then looked at me with a kindly smile.
"Otis, Nell is not very understanding, these luggage we can get help from the warriors, he is still a child, I hope you do not take it to heart."
I froze for a moment listening to the woman's voice, then bits of memories appeared in my mind, I seemed to have run into her when I was walking with Conrad.
Conrad was the Alpha of the entire pack, and this woman seemed to think of me as an important person inside the pack.
I smiled again at the thought and without hesitation began to sort through those bags.
"It doesn't matter, helping the clan is the responsibility of every one of us in Blue-moon Pack."
Outside, the snowflakes were drifting, the color in the sky did not change a bit, the air was still cooling down, this was the first snow of winter, and there was no telling how long it would snow.
After we packed up I went to the safe house with a small group of soldiers with those old people and children.
The safe house was in a huge cave on a small mountain south of the wolf pack. The woods around this mountain were high and hidden, and it was the safe house that Blue-moon Pack had been preparing all along.
It would be a long trek as these old men and children were moving slowly and the safe area was not close to the wolves.
The ground was getting thicker and thicker with white. I don't know how long it took, but I gradually started to hear the sound of some shoes rubbing out with the snow, and the forest seemed to be painted with white paint, beautiful and flawless, but full of cold and danger.
The snowflakes sprinkled salt on everyone's body, and suddenly I saw the little boy with golden hair running again, his voice had no impurities inside.
"Big sister, how long do we have to get to ah, I feel some cold..."
I looked at the little boy's round, reddish face and couldn't help but rub his head, he looked so cute, his blond hair was very similar to Conrad's, which made me suddenly start to imagine.
If Conrad and I had a baby, would it be blonde or would it be red hair like mine?
"Just a little bit more, see that hill in front of you, that's where our safe house is."
Speaking of which, I took the little boy's hand and suddenly found that his little hand was already cold and had started to glow red at the front of his fingers.
This time I looked toward his body, it seems that because of the urgency of the walk, he was not wearing very thick, only a thin and compact outerwear over the body.
If this continues, before he safe house, his small hands are likely to be frozen and cracked.
Thinking about it, I took off the scarf I had hanging over my shoulder and proceeded to drape it over the little boy's body.
"Nell what are you doing, give the scarf back to Otis."
Suddenly I saw the older female werewolf figure had some swaying jogging towards me, her body was already very old and her footsteps were already very unsteady when she ran. I saw here immediately to meet up, then directly hold up her arm.
"Granny, don't worry, this temperature is not cold for me."
"But it's already snowing..."
"It's okay, I'm in good health."
At this time I suddenly noticed the eyes of the wolves around me, they seemed to have some surprise looking at me, there were in some fluctuations inside the eyes.
"Everyone hang in there, we have gone a large part of the way, soon we will be able to enter the safe house, there are still living supplies inside that we have prepared in advance."
I looked at the clan and said in a strong voice, then took the little boy's hand and walked towards the front.
A small group of warriors formed an encirclement around all of the clan, the snow blowing around them had long since allowed him to make half of their bodies turn white, but their eyes did not waver.
I walked ahead of all of them counting the distance, thinking silently in my mind that I might be able to get into the safe house before the snow became bigger.
The mountain in front of us became closer to us, but when we were about to come to the foot of the mountain, my heartbeat suddenly became faster.
I felt a sense of crisis, the air ahead seemed to waft an unusual smell, it was not the smell of snow and forest.
"All pause, warriors on alert!"
Suddenly I shouted toward the rear of the group, and those warriors began to alert without the slightest hesitation.
"Big sister, what's happening, aren't we almost there?"
The little boy's puzzled voice rang out next to me, and I stroked his head.
"Your name is Nell right, the next may not be very safe, you quickly back inside the group and stay with the adults, I will protect you."
"But there's nothing around here, huh?"
The boy also had some doubts looked around, the cold wind will blow the leaves shaking, the snow is still falling, the only thing left around the white and not yet completely covered green.
But just at this time, I felt that unusual smell that became even stronger, it wasn't the smell of the forest, it was the special smell possessed by the fur on the wolf!
"I didn't expect to be discovered by you guys in advance, how on earth did you do that, we were obviously already very careful."
Suddenly a sinister voice came from the front, a strong-bodied werewolf burrowed out from inside the dense woods, although his shoulders and chest possessed strong muscles, his abdomen had some roundness, just like a ball. This may be the result of living in too good an environment but not exercising to the waist to produce.
"Everyone can come out, this time the information is really correct, Blue-moon Pack will indeed take some people to the safe house, we are catching a big fish."
Just after he finished speaking, some werewolves with ferocious faces burst out from inside these woods one after another.
Just as they were coming towards us, one by one, they transformed into wolves and soon blocked our front.
I looked around, and my face became very bad.
Conrad and I didn't expect that the Dusk Pack actually had an ambush here as well!
The number of these wolves was large, I roughly estimated that they all reached over two hundred, but one of my warrior's squad only had less than a hundred people.
Although the number of the Pack people was far more than two hundred, their number was not equal to their combat power.
The road behind us had long been covered by the wind and snow, and although these wolves did not completely surround us, these clansmen who were weak in combat ability that we were protecting could not escape.
Their speed was too slow, and even if the warriors and I were able to escape, the clansmen definitely could not escape.
But just as I was thinking of a solution, the voices of some elderly clansmen came from behind me.
"Otis, you and the warriors should not worry about us, although we are not as strong as you in fighting, but it does not mean that we are not capable of fighting."
"Yes, those of us who are more in number than them are able to tire them out even if we are tired, none of us Blue-moon Pack are afraid of death."
"The children are leading in the middle, and my old bones also want to fight a hand!"
Their voices were full of fervor, I turned my head over and looked at those old but defiant figures, not knowing why a force had flowed inside my body.
The power of the Moon God boiled up repeatedly inside my blood, this desire to guard the clan seemed to inspire my strength, I felt that I seemed to become more powerful as a result, and some of that worry in my heart disappeared. "People, you stay well, I Otis here, these Dusk Pack guys will never hurt you!"
At this time my voice also took on Conrad's kind of unquestionable, but some disdainful voices sounded in front of me.
"What? You want to protect these useless losers with just you, are you telling a joke?"
The werewolf with a huge stomach laughed at the sky.
