Amnesia Love: The Five Boyfriends Challenge -
Chapter 16-The truth.
I felt my eyes becoming less tired before I turned my head again.
On the contrary, Mr. Smith seemed angered by my rudeness.
He's angry?
How dare he be angry with his son for what he did!"
With a sneer inside me, I ignored him and turned to Alan, who was sitting next to him.
"Tell me, who informed you about the C Company employee at the bar?"
Mr. Smith frowned, realizing I wasn't addressing him, and turned to look at Alan. "What news? What have you done?"
Alan, too guilty to make eye contact, waved his hand repeatedly, attempting to distance himself from the affair.
"I don't know, I don't know anything!"
"Since I can approach you here and ask you, I must be quite certain. I'm offering you a chance because of your father, Mr. Smith's, contributions to the Meredith family. You'd better think it through before you respond!" My stance was clear to everyone present.
Now, it was up to Alan to tell the truth.
He appeared scared, knowing that if he confessed, he might face legal consequences like Mike.
"What bar, what C Company? I don't know anything, I don't know!"
Alan nervously responded.
"Alan, there's no need to be nervous."
Raimundo suddenly appeared at Alan's side, patting his shoulder to soothe his feelings.
"Miss Chloe just came to ask you some questions. Just tell us what you know, and I can assure you that you will be safe."
Alan clearly trusted Raimundo.
No matter how hard his father, Mr. Smith, and I pressed him, he refused to answer. But with just a few words of persuasion from Raimundo, he began to waver.
"It's... Oh, really? Mr. Raimundo, am I really going to be okay?"
"If you really haven't done anything to harm the company."
"I didn't hurt the company! And I never meant to hurt anyone! I really just heard something and shared it with Mike."
Aiden asked, "Why did you tell Mike? What is the relationship between you two?"
"He went to high school with me, and we are close. Unfortunately, I went to study in France after graduation, and we only met at the company three months ago." Alan explained. "Where did you get all that information?" I inquired.
"Well... In that bar, too." Alan hesitated. "I was out drinking with friends the other day, and I met a man in that bar. The man was very funny, and I got on with him. I told him about my time at M Company." "And then?"
"Word has spread all over the city that M Company was involved in the bid. He told me that he knew through the grapevine that an employee responsible for reviewing projects at C Company was here. He told me to bring the project book to this guy and say it would help us in the bid."
Alan looked at Aiden warily, "and... I told Mike the news. I wanted to help him so that he could be promoted to group leader as soon as possible..."
Aiden and I exchanged glances. He, like me, didn't think Alan was lying.
Someone had deliberately set a trap behind this matter.
"You were deceived by him." I stated, and Alan bowed his head in frustration. "It was my folly to have been deceived! My foolishness led to trouble with Mike...." "You really are a fool!" I criticized him without mercy.
Mr. Smith glared at me with some anger.

He tried to say something, but Dockersuddenly stood in front of me and warned him with a stern look not to be rude to me.
Mr. Smith looked away and turned to lecture his son Alan again.
"Why are you meddling? Who are you? Who is this Mike guy? Why are you helping him?"
"I'm sorry, Dad..."
Alan was already annoyed and could not lift his head when Mr. Smith scolded him.
Although Mr. Smith was lecturing Alan, his words seemed more like blaming Mike. It's as if this whole thing is Mike's fault, like Mike has put Alan in a difficult position. These words made me uncomfortable. As Mike's team leader, Aiden was even more uncomfortable listening to them. "Mr. Smith!"
Aiden interrupted Mr. Smith, who was still lecturing his son.
"You can teach your son a lesson, but please don't humiliate my team member!"
Smith looked askance at Aiden. "Who are you?"
"I am the leader of Team F in the project department of M Company, and Mike is my team member."
"Do you know who I am?"
"You're part owner of the company, Mr. Smith."
Aiden's attitude was humble, showing respect.
But Mr. Smith decided to bully him based on his status.
"Don't you dare talk to me in this tone. Do you believe that I will make you never return to M Company!"

He hated it, but in his current position, he didn't have the strength to argue otherwise.
He didn't, but I did.
"Mr. Smith is really old and has a bad memory. Have you forgotten what the 'M' in M Company stands for?"
When Smith saw me defending Aiden, his attitude became even more contemptuous.
What kind of man is protected by a woman?!
"I finally grasped the reason behind his arrogance. He is Miss Chloe's boyfriend!"
"You're half right. He's my crush, but he's not my boyfriend."
I took Aiden's hand and looked at him with a smile.
"I'm still chasing him!"
Laughter ensued.
I looked at the guy, catching Raimundo's eye.
His smile annoyed me, as if he was mocking me.
Having obtained the answers I needed, there was no point in sticking around.
"That's all we have to say. Let's go!"
I didn't forget to grab Dockerwhen I turned to leave.
I walked out of Raimundo's villa holding two men's hands.
As we were getting in the car to leave, I heard my name called from behind.
