Jack's POV.

Something doesn't feel right. Something somehow is wrong with Abby and I knew it.

Here I was outside Abby's room roaming around the hospital like I was missing or lost just because of Abby.

I felt odd knowing that Abby wished not to see me with her inside her room when the Nurse stepped in.

When I turned to look at the Nurse, I knew that something was wrong, and they didn't want me to be aware about it.

I was already choked up by just standing outside her door and peeping through the door like I was some little kid. I decided to take a walk since they didn't want me around them.

I got to the field and seeing different kind of individuals standing and playing at the field made me feel calm.

I stood at a spot as I spread my arms towards the opposite direction, inhaling and exhaling the fresh breeze that came towards my way.

My eyes were shut, and my face was focused towards the reflection of the sun.

I knew it'd hurt me, but the truth remained that it was more refreshing than staying close to someone who didn't want you around her.

I met Abby few days ago in a public bus and no matter how hard I tried to forget her clumsy behavior in the bus, I just couldn't stop thinking about wanting her all to myself.

'I love this girl' I said to myself as I tapped my fingers on my legs continuously while I stood still and place my gaze to the nice family by the right side of the field.

Seeing how happy they all looked, it made me recall my memories which won't leave my head.

I thought about my relationships In the past and how awful they had been, how they ended up making me look like a fool.

I vowed never to love anyone again and that was supposed to include Abby, but I guess I was only deceiving myself.

The thought of her made me want to grab her by her neck and give her sweet kisses all over her body.

"I am insane" I chuckled as I averted my gaze from the kids and parents who were on the field.

I placed it on the ground and was lost in my thoughts when suddenly, a feminine voice, the one I could recall so quickly called out my name from behind making me wonder who it was. "Jack Hudson?" I spurned immediately and in the sight of whom I saw, I froze in amazement.

"Kate?" I pronounced with my head, trying to figure out what she was doing at the hospital.

"Kate, how are you here?" I walked towards her and I meant even closer to her body as I asked out of curiosity.

"The world is a small world right" She spoke out with her melodious voice.

Meet Kate, my high school girlfriend who actually ditched me back then for Nelson, our team captain.

She loved guys who were into sports and that made me interested until she taught me that a man shouldn't fully trust a lady.

"I

I see you aren't married yet" I halved a smile on my face as I said spitefully.

I looked at her fingers severally. Seeing that she had no rings on made me realize that she wasn't married to anyone.

"I.... I think we should just change the subject, Jack" She suggested as she placed her hand on her hair and tucked it at the back of her ear.

I smiled knowing the moves she was making towards me. It was obvious that all she wanted at that moment was me.

She wished to have me all to herself, but that wasn't going to work on me anymore knowing that she was now my ex.

I hate speaking to ex's, and she wasn't going to be an exception if care wasn't taken.

Kate began to take few steps closer to where I was, and it was getting on my nerves.

"What do you want from me Kate?" I whispered, since she was close enough to where I was standing.

"What if I say I want you, Jack? Would you give yourself to me?" She asked as she walked in circles.

She looked fearless, and that made me wonder why. The Kate I knew wasn't this fearless, she was more of a baby girl than a female leopard. She placed her hand on my chest and just when she was about coming closer to me, I heard Abby's voice call out my name from behind. "Jack? Who is she?" Abby questioned while she was well seated on a wheelchair.

I guess the nurses had given her one, so she wouldn't collapse at the hospital.

"I am Kate sweetheart" Kate brought out her hand for a shake.

Looking at her, I could see how manipulating she was staring into Abby's eyes.

She wasn't just here to take me back to herself, but she came to make whoever was with me angry, and she was succeeding.

"I don't touch infected strangers" Abby asserted as she glared at Kate. I could see anger written all over her face at that moment.

Kate turned to look at me, and a smirk followed her stare on me. "Really?" Kate scoffed feeling embarrassed at the situation.

"Hey Abby, you shouldn't be so rude to people you barely know okay" I said clearly meaning every single word I said to her.

"Let's go back inside Jack, I feel disgusted staying outside the field today" She spurned her wheelchair towards the direction of the hospital's entrance and had begun to go in.

I followed her at her back without looking at Kate which probably made her insane and mad at me.

We got into the room and just when I thought she had forgotten about Kate, she brought the topic up.

"Who the f**k was she Jack?" She questioned, looking so furious.

I had to tell her the truth one day, so it was best to be open now.
