Abby's

POV.

"What do you want from me? Why the f**k are you standing at my doorstep? Don't you have any shame left in you, Jeff? You should despise yourself right now!" I blurted out the moment I saw Jeff in front of my house so early in the morning. Yes, I had to move to my house and soon, I would get a job that will help sustain my child and I in this evil world.

Jack was caught with Kate and all he did was chase after me the moment he realised that my child was born as a normal child.

"You were surprised to see him that strong and healthy right?" I scoffed as I left the door to look at his pleading face.

"I'm so sorry About what happened between us Abby. It's not like I never loved you, I did sincerely but ....

He was going to say when immediately, I took the words out of his mouth.

"But you realised that my child won't be normal so you went for it, you went into chasing clout forgetting that tables could still turn around!" Tears filled my eyes as I spoke to him.

Memories of how he treated me back then suddenly came lingering into my head. The way he mistreated me even with my baby in my tummy.

The way he spoke to me without minding if I was a human being or not, the way he grabbed me and also pushed me out because of my child.

I felt so bad for myself for not realising it on time. He has always been a cold bastard but because of my child, I failed to see it.

"I'm so sorry Abby, please let's come back together, let's take care of our child together please! Do you wish to train your child without a father figure close to him?" Jack asked as he went on his knees to beg me. "Wow!! You have suddenly turned into a humble man and you are willing to be a father to our son right?" I laughed so hard as I mocked him.

"Laugh all you want Abby, I still love you and my..."

"Will you shut the fuck up Jack!!! Who are you calling your son? The same child that was In my womb when you and Kate threw me to the floor at the hospital? Or the same child you never let me go to check up regularly?"

"Tell me Jack, who is your child? The same child I gave birth to and you just couldn't come to see with your eyes for just a day Jack? Is that who you tag as your child?" I tsk, as I shook my head In disagreement.

"He isn't your child and I wish you stop coming here to ask for your child. You don't have a child fool!!" I turned around and was about to close the door angrily when Jack had suddenly stopped me by holding the door from outside.
Chasing After Me. (I Did It!). Abby's POV.

"What do you want from me? Why the fuck are you standing at my doorstep? Don't you have any shame left in you, Jeff? You should despise yourself right now!" I blurted out the moment I saw Jeff in front of my house so early in the morning.

"I won't leave Abby, not until I see my child!" He said firmly, standing in the solid rock of seeing his child.

"It's going to rain soon Jack and I don't think you want to Take that kind of bold step. See you later Jack!" I shut the door immediately without turning back.

If anything was going to happen to him, then he definitely deserved it. It wasn't my fault that he turned my child into a premature baby who wasn't going to be the choice of the state.

I walked up to my room, Leaving Jack at the doorstep. I was going to feed Jayden who was supposed to be awake and definitely hungry.

The moment I got into my room, I was immediately welcomed by my Jayden with an irreplaceable smile on his face.

He blabbed just as kids do and I was happy I never gave birth to their expectations. I never gave birth to a deformed child.

"Missing mommy huh!" I smiled back as I went closer to the bed. I carried him in my arms and began to feed him with my n****e which popped milk into his mouth.

Soon, the wind began to blow so strong that it made my assertions true. "It was really going to rain!" I mumbled to myself as I looked outside the window.

I thought about Jack who was outside. I was going to check if he was still there so he could come inside my house but on a second thought, he was never kind to me when I carried my child. His aim has always been to kill him so why should I help him out.

I did the necessary chores after feeding Jayden and in no time, I went to bed. I was going for a Job hunt the next day so I needed to rest quickly.

It was soon morning and when I woke up from sleep, the first person I thought about was Jack.

Panicking, I ran over to the door to apologise to him for letting the rain deal with him but the moment I opened the door, I went blank.

"He couldn't even wait or stress himself because of his child. You don't worth it Jack. You don't deserve to be Jayden's father!" I pronounced it with a clear heart.

I immediately turned around to go get ready for my job search. I dressed my son and the minute we were done, I carried him and we both stepped out together.

Searching for a job in Los Angeles was quite a stressful game. I wasn't sure if I was going to get the job and I wasn't determined anymore after going to different companies for a job.

They all stated that I had a new born baby and getting a job with them would mean signing a contract which could harm their company.

I tried my best to make them understand that I could do it with the baby but they all refused.

I was willing to go home when I suddenly froze in excitement.

I was passing by the cafe store when I stumbled upon a poster placed on their door.

It was an advertisement made by a company called the Future Group.

I wasn't sure about what they were doing in the company but I went there regardless of the risk I was taking.

"Hello ma'am, please how may we help you?" The lady behind the counter asked the moment I stepped into the company.

"I wish to apply for the post of the ...." I was going to state but then, she stopped me from speaking further.

"The available posts right now are the post of the Chief assistant, Chief secretary and ward security!" She revealed with a smile.

"Can I see your credentials please?" She requested as she stretched her hand towards my direction.

"Oh, here it is..." I handed it over to her without hesitation.

She was still going through it when suddenly, I heard my name from behind.

"Abby?? Abby Wilson?"

Startled by the voice, I turned around to see who it was but unfortunately, I just couldn't recall a thing.

"Who are you?" I asked looking dumb.

"Come on Abby, don't tell me you can't recall my looks after what happened between us in school!" He announced cheerfully.

At that point, I think I was beginning to recall him and his past life. He was definitely the kid who had sexually harassed a student and almost did it to me too.

"Maxwell?" I whispered, still lost in thoughts.

"That's me Abby.. you guessed right!" He dipped his hands into his pockets as he confirmed my guess.

"By the way, what are you doing here?" He asked, looking confused.

"I came to find a job that will help me...." I wasn't done speaking when he suddenly interrupted me.

"Give her the post of the Chief assistant, dear And send her into my office with her file. I have a conference to attend!" He ordered boldly, making me wonder how my job hunt suddenly turned out to be so easy. "Here ma'am, you should go now... he hates delay!" The lady behind the counter said as she passed my file over to me.

I guess sometimes, it pays to be good. I thought to myself as I joyfully went into his office with my baby relaxing on my chest.
