Abby's

POV.

With my hands on my laps and my fingers tapping on them in a worried manner, I went towards each end of my room thinking about one thing and one person. "What the f**k is this? Why the hell did I embrace him in the first place? What was I thinking?" I mumbled to myself as I roamed around my bedroom endlessly. The thought of Alex back home and visiting me in my workplace was just so confusing that I wasn't sure about what to do anymore.

"Should I just stay at home instead? He doesn't know my house right?" I pondered as I stood at a spot for a second.

I would have really loved to stay away from the company so he won't come back to see me.

His last words before leaving my office just couldn't get off my head. It was obvious that he wasn't joking when he said he was going to come back no matter what. "What will I do??" I grumbled as I stumped my feet on the ground in frustration before sitting on the bed like a little kid who was denied chocolate.

"If I stay at home all day, then I won't be able to take Jay to school or help the boss with his working files!" I frowned at such thoughts.

I wished to take a day off from work because of Alex but it just wasn't possible because I had already used up my off days for the month.

I bowed my face to the ground and out of frustration, I pinched the tip of my nose. I was just out of ideas and that meant I was going to really meet him.

"Are you okay mom? You've been restless since yesterday mom, are you okay?" Jay who had walked into the room to see me bending my head to the floor asked.

He came closer to where I was and wrapped his tender arms across my shoulders as he awaited my response to his question.

"I'm.. I'm okay my son.... Why don't you dress up immediately so we can Leave the house now. It's getting late and you know it!" I said, feigning a smile on my face.

It was forced and he probably noticed it because he was the smart kind of kid.

"Come on Jay, don't look at me that way.. just get ready to leave okay?" I caressed his hair gently as I tried cheering him up.

He stood up from the bed but with a disappointing look on his face as he went to get ready for school.

Soon, he was all set in his white shirt and his short khaki pants which suited him so well, seeing how little he was.

"I'm all set now mom...mom?" He called out when I didn't respond to his statement earlier.

I jerked as I looked at my little kid standing before me with a worrisome look on his face. I couldn't afford to make him even more suspicious so I had to make a comforting move. I got a gentle grip of his wrist and without hesitation, I pulled him closer to myself slowly.

"Oh Jay... I'm glad you are in my life okay? I love you so much and can't live without you in my life" I placed my hand on his cheek as I whispered to him.

"But why do I feel like my existence in your life is making you think and go to lengths you shouldn't?" He questioned giving me chills all over my body.

"What? Who told you that? Where did you hear such and why do you think it's true!" I asked softly as my eyes bulged out to his statement.

"Can we just go to school now mom? I need to be Early you know!" He walked out on me after revealing what he had in mind to say to me.

I stood up, grabbed my bag and followed him from behind. He had said something that really pulled me off balance.

He really thinks he's the reason why I keep thinking over and over again? How do I tell him that it's not about him this time?

How do I tell him that his father Alex is alive and back to get us back into his life? Will Jay be okay with such?

I stopped walking and grumbled, rolling my eyes as I thought about a lot of things at a go.

"We should leave mom... try controlling your emotions and watch it let you be!" Jay suddenly asserted before he went closer to the car door. Immediately, I smiled and rushed to go open the door for him. He was smart just as I thought.

"And the doctor said he wouldn't perform well in life!" I mumbled to myself as I stared at him climbing into the car.

I got in too and soon, we were already close to his school's vicinity. I couldn't go into the gate to drop him off so I stopped in front of his gate.

"We should come down here Jay... mom is late for work!" I expressed the affection I felt for him by touching his tender hair with a feeling of joy and kindness.

He climbed out of the car after a sweet talk with mom and just before I was going to drive out, his lunch box that was in the car had caught my attention. "Shit!!"I exclaimed and immediately took the box to go give him.

Luckily, I got him before he went into the School gate. I handed it to him and kissed him on his forehead before waving at him to go into the school.

"I see that is your child Abby...." I suddenly heard a voice from behind me which sounded so familiar.

I turned around Instantly and to my greatest surprise, it was Alex. Alex had traced me to my son's school which was weird.

"Surprised? Dumbfounded? Shocked? Or angry?" He flexed the muscles of his mouth towards both ends as they gave me the most beautiful and brightest smile for the day. My heart beat raced rapidly at his cute face but I tried my best to still ignore him.

"What.. what are you doing here?" I tried my best to ask, seeing how awkward the environment had turned out to be.

"I told you that you are mine Abby and no matter what, I'll always find and come back to you!" He halved a smile with his hands dipped into his pockets.
