An Affair With My Ex -
Chapter 71
Alex's POV.
"Hello Jayden... how are you feeling today?" I asked the little kid the moment I set my eyes on him.
He was putting on his well ironed and prepared uniform. It suited him so well that I wished I was the one putting it on.
Seeing how neat his shoe was and how smart he looked, I knew it was definitely going to be a bit difficult to lure him into what I was about to do to him for the day.
"Who are you? Why isn't my mom here yet?" He wondered as he looked at Assistant King and I with a Confused stare.
He was little and I understood why he was acting that way.
I squatted to his height so I could talk to him properly and with a smile on my face, I placed my hand on his shoulders and drew him closer to myself.
"I am just here to treat you right Jay... and...." I was going to say when he suddenly interrupted Me.
"Only my mom calls me that, Sir.... You shouldn't do that" he shook his head as he declined such a gesture exhibited by me.
"Fine then, I'll do things your way Jayden... where do you wish to go to Jayden? I will do anything just to make you smile today!" I assured,as I was still trying to keep up with the smile on my face as I spoke to Jayden. "Where I wish to go? How sure am I that you don't plan on harming my mom and I?" He probed as he took a step backwards and away from me.
"I won't hurt you Jayden and besides, you are so sweet and so is your mom. I just want to show her that I can protect you and her Jayden... just let me protect and take care of you okay?"
I spoke softly as I watched his facial expression change drastically. He came closer to where I was standing and held my hand In his little tender hand.
"I know just the right place to go!" He matched out of the School dragging me from behind as he danced happily.
He was so excited that he was heading to where he has dreamt about for years, I guess.
Soon, we got into the car and without hesitation, we drove off and not just driving anywhere, but we drove to the park.
Getting to the park, I froze in silence. "It has really changed a lot!" I mumbled to myself seeing how awesome it had become.
It reminded me of the past, Our past with Abby and I. Whenever we felt lonely and our souls just couldn't contain the anger burning within us, we usually took a stroll to the park just to ease the pain.
"My mom do bring me here whenever she's sad and I want you to help me make a promise!" Jayden bargained with a serious stare at me.
He was obviously the man of the house now even though he was little but at least, he could make things happen.
"Promise you will bring my mom here one day since you promise to protect us. I want you to bring her here as a happy lady and not a sad lady feigning her happiness!" He went all emotional as he spoke up to me.
I was amazed to see a kid of his age make such a deal with a stranger.
"I guess you really love your mom huh?" I chuckled, caressing his hair.
"Enough about me... what do you want from me?" He asked, ignoring my statement to him.
The moment he asked me what I wanted, only one statement came running into my head, just one idea came into my head.
"Why don't we go to the hospital for a DNA test Little Jayden?" I suggested with a half smile on my face as I looked into his eyes.
"Sir he...." King was going to say a word but then I shut him up.
"I promise to bring your mom here as a happy lady if you promise to go to the hospital with me, Jayden Alex...." I said with his full name at the end of my statement. "And... Why do you want such a test with me? What Is the test used for?" He asked, looking Confused.
Seeing that he didn't know what a DNA test means, I had to take advantage of it.
"It's just a test used to seal a promise Jayden... and I promise it won't hurt!" I explained with a lie as Assistant King looked at me worried by what the outcome will be.
"Fine... I love such tests!" He nodded his head towards both sides as he was excited about sealing our promises made to each other.
We left the park and headed over to the hospital just as expected and the moment we got there, I took Jayden personally into my doctor's office.
"Hello Alex....to what occasion do I owe this visit?" Doctor Albert asked, looking shocked at my appearance in his hospital.
He looked more stunned seeing the little kid I had in my hand than I was.
I looked at him, then at Jayden but Jayden didn't seem to know who he was at that moment.
"Why are you here?" He asked, trying to change the atmosphere.
"I want a DNA test with him and I mean now!" I ordered without delay and went to a seat close to his table.
"Is he your child? And ... Did your wife give birth recently in this hospital?" He questioned, making me curious.
At that moment I wasn't sure about my response but after a second, I felt I needed him by my side, to know more about Abby.
"Yes Doctor... her name is..." I was going to say when he immediately interrupted me.
"Abby? Abby Wilson right?" He suddenly mentioned still looking astray.
"I thought Jack was her husband and ... I was sure I told him everything about the child. Does it mean the child isn't Jack's child?" He mumbled to himself so I wouldn't get to hear him but unfortunately, my ears were as sharp as a razor and I got his words clearly. I heard every little detail that was said by doctor Albert but I chose to ignore them.
"The DNA test before I lose my mind here!" I said with a deep voice which made Albert hurry up in what he was doing.
He took my blood samples and then Jayden's samples too. It wasn't that easy knowing that he was a kid scared of needles but it was taken finally.
He processed it on his device while I sat still with Jayden beside me. I couldn't believe that Abby had given birth in my family's hospital with another man as her husband.
"Or was she married to him and is Jayden really his son? If so, why then did she name him Alex?" I pondered continuously as I couldn't just think straight.
"Sir....!!" King suddenly called out the moment he opened the door to my face. He had his face looking all sweaty and his hands trembling.
Out of concern, I went to meet him outside Albert's office so we could talk to each other.
"And what is wrong with you? Why do you look so tense? Are you going insane or something?" I asked, seeing how he kept on Panicking.
"I deserve to die, Sir. Alex." He fell to his knees with his face bowed to the ground and his voice all fainty.
"I don't get it King.. die for what?" I questioned as I tried making him get up from the ground.
I didn't want it to look as though I was punishing my only guard in front of the Doctor's office.
"I knew it all, Sir. Alex... I know that...." He paused for a second making me more curious.
"I don't get it King..you were aware about what exactly?" I interrogated as I went closer to him with my hands placed on his shoulders.
"I knew that... Abby gave Birth in this hospital, she isn't married too and... and the child...." He kept on hiding the important facts from me and it made me angry.
"Can you just speak the fuck up?!?! Say something King!! Stop being a dumbass!!!" I Bellowed not minding if we were still in the hospital.
"Jayden is...."
"Your test is ready Alex.. I think you might want to come real quick!" Albert interrupted the minute King was going to open up to me.
I furiously left him and went into the office to know and see what the result turned out to be.
"I am happy to tell you that... the little kid is your son and not a stranger's child!" Albert uncovered as he handed the DNA result to me with a smile on his face. "What?" I exclaimed softly in astonishment of what the result turned out to be.
And I wasn't the only one who knew that Jayden was my son now.
