An Understated Dominance -
Chapter 1395 by Marina Vittori
“What? Prisoned for life?” Brooke’s face paled, and he broke out in a cold sweat. Eleanor’s threat had made him panic since he also doubted the card’s authenticity. He didn’t want Dustin to get into trouble because of him!
“Dustin, you need to put that away before it gets you into trouble!” Brooke said in a hushed voice as he tugged at his sleeve. Destroying the fake card in time should help avoid any potential problems.
“Rhys! You’ve got some nerve! You must be tired of living if you dared forge a Royal Empire Card!” Ezra’s hostile gaze was fixed on Dustin.
“Dustin, I’m giving you a chance to make amends. As long as you admit to your mistake, destroy that card, and leave this place, I’ll pretend like nothing ever happened.” Eleanor held her head high, and her tone was condescending.
“Why should I admit to a mistake? You’re the ones too blind to recognize an authentic card. If you don’t believe me, we can always take a trip to Langford Bank.” Dustin was unfazed. Austin had given him the card as a gift before his departure. It couldn’t be fake.
“Dustin! That’s enough!” Eleanor’s expression darkened. She rebuked him, “I’ve seen through your act, so why are you still being so stubborn? I’m giving you a chance to turn back. If you continue like this, don’t blame me for taking action!”
“What? Are you going to have me arrested?” Dustin raised his eyebrows slightly.
“If there’s a need for it, I will!”
Eleanor spoke with self-righteousness, “I won’t just stand by and watch as you go astray. Perhaps you’ll only learn your lesson and correct your ways if you are sent to prison.
“I’m doing this for your own good.”
“For my own good? Hahaha! That sounds really grating to my ears.”
Dustin sneered. “Eleanor Welch, don’t you find yourself incredibly hypocritical? Clearly, you’re the one causing harm. Yet you insist on making grandiose claims and putting on a virtuous facade.
“Your fake persona is making me sick.”
“H-How dare you!” His words irritated Eleanor.
“Dustin! I’ve shown you remarkable patience and leniency. You’d better not push your luck!”
“Bastard! I’m ordering you to apologize to Eleanor right now! Or you won’t like the consequences!” Ezra yelled.
“What? You’re going to get physical? Go ahead and try.” Dustin showed no fear. “You son of a bitch!” Ezra’s anger reached its peak. He was about to take action when Eleanor raised her hand to stop him.
In a lowered voice, she told him, “Hold on, there are many eyes here. You’ll only hurt our reputation if you hit him in public.”
“Are we just going to let him go, then?” Ezra frowned, somewhat unwilling.
“Stay calm. To achieve our objectives, we must keep a cool head.” Eleanor remained surprisingly composed.
“South City is our territory with everything under our control. Dealing with a nobody like him would be a piece of cake.”
“Fine, for your sake, I’ll let this man roam freely for another day.” Ezra’s expression softened. The fire had attracted a significant crowd to the area. Many of them were recording videos and taking photos.
Acting out could have caused problems if it were exposed. It was better to be patient and seek retaliation later. “If you two are too afraid to take action, then please leave,” Dustin said indifferently.
“Also, I’ve bought Harmony Healers. Feel free to come at me going forward.”
“Bastard! You really intend on going against us? Fine! Let’s see how long you last!” Ezra smirked.
“Dustin. I’m giving you one last chance. Apologize to me and hand over Harmony Healers. “Then I’ll persuade Ezra to let you off the hook. What do you say?” Eleanor put on a generous front.
