An Understated Dominance
Chapter 1524 by Marina Vittori

After a moment, the slumbering Onyxclaw slowly opened its eyes. At the same time, a fully armed team of guards surrounded it, keeping vigilant for a reaction. They would restrain it immediately if they noticed any abnormality or aggressive behavior.

The Onyxclaw seemed aware of its surrounding threat and dared not make any sudden movements. It laid down obediently in the presence of the guards.

“Come out!” Anders shouted. The Onyxclaw snorted and walked leisurely out of the iron cage. Its massive body resembled a tiny mountain, giving off oppressive dominance.

Anders, tall as he was, appeared small in front of the Onyxclaw. It seemed as though it could swallow him in a single gulp.

“I heard you can discern good from evil. Now, show everyone your abilities. Of course, if you dare to misbehave, I’ll have you slaughtered for soup!” Anders ordered coldly.

Upon hearing this, the Onyxclaw’s fur bristled slightly. It instinctively moved away from Anders, clearly fearful of him.

“Go on.” Anders patted its body. The Onyxclaw dared not disobey and started roaming around under the surveillance of the guards. It occasionally sniffed the air as if looking for something.

Gazing at the Onxyclaw’s massive figure, many high-ranking officials and noblemen were both excited and nervous. After all, a creature of its kind was a rare sight. If they keep one as a pet, it would be a significant show of power.

“This thing looks really terrifying. Thank goodness the Veros Warrior has tamed it. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have dared get this close.”

“Considering its size, it’s probably two or three times larger than a regular tiger. It would just need one bite to eat a person whole.”

“Wow! This is truly exhilarating!”

The crowd whispered among themselves, expressing all kinds of emotions. Some were fearful, some were delighted, while others were amazed. A few daring youths even reached out to touch its fur.

While the Onyxclaw was displeased, it refrained from making a huge reaction. On the contrary, those who touched the Onyxclaw’s fur were ecstatic, their faces filled with pride.

“Dustin, can this Onyxclaw really tell good from evil as Anders claimed?” Abigail asked in a whisper.

“While it’s true that the Onyxclaw possesses spiritual abilities, it only has the intelligence of a ten-year-old child. If even humans find it challenging to tell good from evil, how could a beast pull off such a feat?” Dustin shook his head slightly.

“If that’s the case, why is Anders putting on this show?” Abigail was puzzled.

“We’ll find out soon enough,” Dustin replied with a faint smile. The West Lucozian monarchy used to keep exotic beasts too. Those beasts were highly intelligent creatures.

Even though they couldn’t speak, they were able to understand the human language with some training. The more docile beasts could even aid in combat. But that was about it.

Claims of them being able to distinguish good from evil were often exaggerated. And some exotic animal traffickers were able to inflate the prices of these creatures with the help of those rumors.

The attention-grabbing Onxyclaw continued to move through the crowd without stopping. It was only when it reached Dustin and Abigail that it suddenly stopped.

Its dark pupils emitted an eerie gaze as it stared directly at them. Its unusual behavior drew the crowd’s attention, and even Dustin felt slightly uneasy.

It couldn’t be. Was this beast really that impressive?
