An Understated Dominance -
Chapter 2007 by Marina Vittori
Grace held the Spirit Core in her hands, and her face lit up with joy. As she looked at it, a small white snake swam within the Spirit Core.
On closer inspection, the snake had dual horns on its head and razor-sharp claws on its belly-a clear sign of a dragon’s transformation. It was this transformation that convinced her it was the Dracan essence.
Dustin noted her expression and sighed with relief, saying, “Looks like the trip wasn’t in vain after all.”
The guidance from the Celestial Eye turned out to be accurate, leading them to discover a hidden treasure. The Dracan essence was concealed within the Spirit Core, a find made possible by the Celestial Eye.
“Ms. Linsor, this treasure is stunning! What is it?” Sophia asked, her curiosity evident in her smile.
She wasn’t foolish, but she observed that even the rare and precious Soul Elixir failed to evoke a response from Grace and Dustin.
Surprisingly, this simple white pearl had succeeded in bringing smiles to their faces. The pearl clearly held greater value than the Soul Elixir. Naturally, Sophia was intrigued and eager to learn more.
“This is known as a Spirit Core-a crystallization born from the fusion of Soul Elixir. It’s what I’m after on this journey,” Grace explained.
The Spirit Core was a solid substance gradually formed through the condensation of the Soul Elixir. She chose not to disclose the truth about the Dracan essence, skillfully weaving a narrative that was part truth and part fiction.
“Spirit Core, huh? Isn’t it more valuable than Soul Elixir? What makes this treasure special?” Sophia asked with sparkling eyes, expressing her curiosity.
Soul Elixir comes in liquid form, whereas the Spirit Core is a solid. The core was created through the concentration and condensation of Soul Elixir. There was a significant distinction between the two.
“The Spirit Core and Soul Elixir share similar effects. Both are used for cultivation. However, I’m not entirely certain about their specific applications,” Grace responded.
Sophia, with an innocent smile, stated, “Oh, really? I find this treasure intriguing. Would you mind lending it to me for a couple of days?”
“Hmm?” Grace raised an eyebrow.” Sorry, this item serves a greater purpose for me, so I can’t lend it to you.
While speaking, she took out a wooden box and delicately placed the Spirit Core inside.
Sophia’s eyes betrayed a hint of greed, a detail that Grace effortlessly picked up. When it came to the destiny of the nation, Grace wasn’t willing to take any risks by entrusting the Dracan essence to someone else.
“Come on, Ms. Linsor, lighten up a bit. I’m just borrowing a few things for a couple of days. No need to get all worked up, right?” Sophia raised an eyebrow, showing a hint of displeasure.
“Ms. Jaden, I made it clear before we entered the palace that I would only take one treasure,” Grace stated coldly.
She added, “The rest is fair game for all of you. I won’t compete with you, so it’s wise for you not to entertain any thoughts about my share.”
She considered herself quite generous. Despite having the authority to claim all the treasures, she chose to honor her promise and relinquish the majority of the loot. If anyone felt the urge to be greedy, they couldn’t accuse her of lacking politeness.
“I-” Sophia began, but Jackson Stone quickly stepped in and smiled at Grace.
“Ms. Linsor, no need for any misconceptions. Sophia was merely expressing curiosity, with no intent to compete or offend. Please understand.”
He shared a meaningful glance with Sophia after his words. After all, it was through Grace and Dustin’s efforts that they gained access to the palace and obtained such valuable treasures.
