Chapter 39

THEO

We ran straight towards the town. But news got to us that all the rogues in the pack were now gone.

That's odd.

We make it to the car park where Emma is holding Summer in her arms, as she is covered in blood and looks pale.

Alpha Jacob runs over. "There were too many of them," says Emma, whispering, "I tried to fight them back."

I looked around but there was no sign of Hayley.

Harrison comforts Emma while Alpha Jacob takes Summer from her with a worried look as there was blood coming from her side, but she looks at me, her face so pale. "We don't know where Hayley is," she says quietly, but collapses in Alpha Jacob's arms.

"Alpha, take her," says Harrison as he looks around the car park. Harvey is pacing everywhere, too.

I look around with Harvey running around looking in between cars till we spot a much shaken Vivian. Harvey kneels down in front of her; I look around but still no sign of Hayley. I look around but Vivian stops me. "They took her," she says to Harvey and I look back at her. "What do you mean, they took her?" I ask her.

Harvey looks at her. "Who, baby?" He says as he pulls her to her feet. Everyone else comes walking over to us, even Summer, who is holding her side.

"Three of them grabbed me and started taking me off in this direction but Hayley came and rescued me," she says as a tear slips down her face. "Her wolf told me to run and I did but I hid behind the car. The three of them surrounded her while a fourth came out of nowhere and stuck a needle in her neck," she said as a tear slid down her cheek once again. "She saved me. We need to find her."

I growl. "Who the fuck would take her?" I ask.

Everyone looking around but not saying a word, but Vivian points to where she last, so Hayley and I walk over to the area. There on the floor was blood, but there was also a needle left behind. I pick it up and sniff but I can't help but growl out. "Wolfsbane," I say through gritted teeth.

I won't be able to find her if she has that in her system.

Jake comes closer to the service. "MATE," he says but roars, "WE NEED TO FIND MATE."

"I know buddy," I say, but he looks at me with sadness, but his anger is pure as mine. "WE WILL KILL THEM," he says with a loud growl.

Someone touched my shoulder. I look over to see a very pissed off Harrison. "We need to take that to be checked. Hopefully, we will know who it belongs to," he says, but he looks more serious. "We will find her."

Emma stands behind us, looking at me with tears in her eyes, but I turn to Harrison. "Be with your mate," I said to him.

He looks at me, and then at Emma. He nods.

I look between all the couples, we all are trying to place it all together but we need to get out of here before something else happens but suddenly Harvey growls out. "WE NEED TO GET BACK NOW," he says and picks up Vivian and runs with her in his arms all we could do was run back following him.

As we ran back to the territory, there were many injured but no deaths, which were a bonus.

I look at Summer and Alpha Jacob. "You take Summer to the pack hospital, get her checked out," I said. "I can handle things till you get back."

They both look at me. "Theo what about..." says Alpha Jacob but I shake my head "Alpha sort out our Luna as her Beta female will need her when we find her," I say and smile at them. "I'm okay. We will find my mate." Alpha Jacob picks up Summer and runs with her.

I turned to look to see where Harvey went, but I soon realized he was outside the pack doctor's house. "Keep an eye on her," he says to Vivian's father who nods but once Vivian has gone inside, her father comes out of the door to close it and walks up to us. "We didn't know Lucy was part of this," he says.

We both look at him. "What do you mean?" says Harvey with a snarl.

Vivian's father looks between the both of us. "Lucy was acting strange after Carly was killed. She was muttering to herself. But we never knew why, but when the rogues came, Lucy ran through the forest. But one followed her. I was going to go after her but I was attacked by three rogues," he says.

"Watch over Vivian and don't let her leave the house," Harvey says and looks at me. "We need to get back to the office," he says.

Without any more words said, we both ran back inside the pack house and straight to the office.

Both of us pacing but something on the monitor catches my eye. I look back. It's the recent recording of today; we forgot to stop the video when we left.

There, standing in front of the camera, was a man that I knew all too well.

He killed my parents.

He killed Alpha Jacob's parents and even Hayley's dad.

I growl out.

Harvey looks at me, moves to the side of me, and growls. "HE HAS HAYLEY," he says through gritted teeth.

The man is smirking up to the camera and waves as he runs in the direction of the town.

I feel angry and flip a chair that was by the side and launch it towards the office door to where Alpha Jacob and Harrison were just about to walk in. "What the hell?" Shouts Alpha Jacob.

I glare back at them but once they see my face, they both walk over to Harvey who is still staring at the monitor. I walk and face the desk.

Why the hell would he want Hayley for?

"The son of a bitch," shouts Harrison. "We need to find her, and we need to find her now."

I close my eyes, but I still can't feel anything.

A hand is on my shoulder. "We will find her," says Alpha Jacob, trying to comfort me.

There was a knock at the door, and it opens where Ruth and Jackie walk in.

"Is everyone alright? Where is..." she says, but she stops in front of the monitor.

I look back at her to answer her, but her face has gone pale.

Harvey looks between the monitor and his mother. "Mum, do you know him?" He asks, but Ruth doesn't say a word.

"Mum, we need to know," Harvey says through gritted teeth.

"Why do you need to know about him?" She says suddenly, which takes us by surprise.

"He's got Hayley," Alpha Jacob says but Ruth growls. "No, he hasn't," she says.

Harvey growls. "FUCKING HELL MUM," he shouts. "HAYLEY WAS TAKEN FROM TOWN A FEW MOMENTS AGO AND YOU STILL DON'T BELIEVE A WORD THAT YOUR CHILDREN SAY TO YOU." You have to be kidding me!

Ruth looks at the man again at the monitor.

"He was your mother's first love," says Auntie Jackie suddenly. We all look at her. She is sitting on the couch and staring at her sister with anger written all over her face. "She fell in love with a wolf that was not her mate. When she found your father, she dumped him the first chance she got," she says, but there was a snarl coming through Ruth who was glaring at her sister. "Why are you telling them?" She says through gritted teeth.

But Auntie Jackie moves fast and growls at her. We all look pissed off the way Ruth is acting.

"You are so dull, Ruth," she says. "You wanted to stop Theo and Hayley from doing the same thing as you, but they were meant to be. You put that child through hell because you thought and believed what everyone else was saying because they told the same shit about you back in the day. Instead of going to your daughter and asking her, you chose to listen to that damn slut."

Auntie Jackie glares at her. "I know you have been meeting someone outside the territory," she says, which earns more growls from everyone in the office. "It won't be surprising to me if you met up with him."

Ruth looks at Auntie Jackie. "You have no idea what it's like to be in the shadow of my own daughter and her stupidity..." she says but she was slapped across the face by Jackie so hard that Ruth stumbled back and Jackie moved closer and into her space, I can see Harvey and Harrison coming closer too.

"You blame that child for everything. You never loved her," she said, which breaks me slightly. "You blamed her for Patrick's death at one stage too, but then the letter Harvey gave you never meant anything to you. Her losing her baby meant nothing to you."

I growl at the mention of my son, which causes her to look at me. "Theo," she starts to say, but I shake my head. "Both Summer and I were going to get her to speak to you after all this and I believe she was even willing to do it but now with what I heard hear now, you ever come near my mate again I will kill you but Ruth if he touches one hair on her head I will kill him and then you," I say through gritted teeth.

As the tension in the room was soaring high, two guards came in and grabbed Ruth by each arm. Alpha Jacob came to the side of me. "Guards, take her to the cells; we will deal with her later. She can sit and stew for a while but Ruth it will be up to your children on what they want to do with you including Hayley but I want to make one thing perfectly clear, if Hayley is harmed in any way you will suffer the same treatment as her," he says, he turns to the guards. "Take her away," he says.

Without any hesitation, the guards take her once she is gone. The anger in the room still there, both of Hayley's brothers look at Jackie but she sits back down "I was like Hayley people spreading rumors about the scandals I did, some I did do but the last one not so much, that out girl rumored it was me who slept with that married man," she says and looks between all of us. "I like to have fun as the next person but I never sleep with mates or married men."

"How did you know about mum?" Asks Harrison as he sits in a chair opposite her.

She sighs. "Your mother liked to write a lot back in the day, kept heavily written journals which as a sister I always found amusing," she said. "I found out about her leaving the territory about a few weeks ago. I pretended to be asleep, but I overheard voices outside and when I looked, your mum left with that Carly girl."

Harvey looks at her. "Do you think she was meeting him?" He says. "You know he is the one who killed our father right," he says.

Jackie looks down at her hands. "I assumed so. I never left, but she always smelled like another man. He never came to the house as I was there, but Carly would always come to the house in the early mornings," she said.

"That's why you've been staying there," says Harrison, looking at her with a blank expression.

She nods. "I wanted to make sure I knew what was happening," she says and turns to look at Harvey. "That letter that Patrick gave her wasn't real, was it?" she asked.

We all turned to look at Harvey. He looks at her and shakes his head. "No, I wrote it. I wanted to cuss out Mum. She was eager to get Hayley back here, but never before. She never asked about her," he said through gritted teeth. "I mean, when she would ring, she would ask me how I was doing, but nothing about Hayley."

Jackie looked at him. "I thought the writing was neater than Patrick's," she says with a small smile.

She sighs and looks at the monitor, which was paused on the man who has Hayley. He is my mate.

"I hope he doesn't want anything but if I had to guess," she says and looks towards Alpha Jacob. "He might want something to do with the pack or..." she turns to both Harrison and Harvey. "Or your mum as well," she says. "We need to have a plan set, but we also need to up security too," Alpha Jacob says.

Jackie walks over to me and leans against the desk. "Hayley will be alright, she's a fighter and we will get her back," she says.

I don't say anything. I want my mate.

Jake is restless inside my head, as we don't know where Hayley is.

I place my arm around Jackie to comfort her, but Harrison and Harvey look at me with something in their eyes. Something is going to happen and I pray they have a plan.
