THEO

It wasn't half an hour after the guards took Ruth to the cells that Alpha Jacob had a mind link through that one of the guards was killed; the other guard and Ruth were gone.

Harrison was checking on the body while everyone else, including all the other's mates, were back in the office watching the monitor.

Thank god Alpha Jacob placed cameras outside the cells too as well as inside.

We watch on the monitor as the guard stabs the other and helps Ruth out of her cuffs, leading her in a different direction. We might not have noticed this if Alpha Jacob didn't change the rota of the guards on the cells three days ago when Agent Matthews was here. She thought there was another mole in our pack, but it looks like there was more than one.

Harvey growls. "THAT BITCH," he shouts, "SHE WAS IN ON THE WHOLE THING!"

Everyone is on edge but we don't know what to believe. There is silence in the room, but tensions are high. Harrison walks in with a grim look on his face. "She is going to die," he says through gritted teeth.

Everyone glares at the monitor, but Jackie looks at Alpha Jacob. "Alpha, can I ask you something and this might come across as strange," she says looking back at the monitor.

"What is it Jackie?" He asks her.

"Well, when your parents were killed, you didn't take over the pack straight away. I was wondering who was looking after the business before you took over," she asks and looks back at him. Alpha Jacob looks at her, puzzled. "Where are you going with this?" He asks her and looks at me.

I'm trying to rack my brain about it as I remember we were told to finish school and then have a year...I growl. "That bitch," I say through gritted teeth.

I turned around and looked at him, everyone walked around the table. "Theo, what is it?" asks Summer. "Do you remember something?"

I growl. "I remember that both Alpha and I were told that we needed to finish school, we could even go to college. We didn't need to rush into the pack life," I said, trying to jog Alpha Jacob's mind.

Alpha Jacob looks blankly at me but suddenly must have remembered something, he growls. "You're right," he says through gritted teeth and looks at the monitor at where he must pause the screen, but he turns to Harvey and Harrison then to Jackie. "Ruth suggested that we take the time off, and she told me she would help us out. She told us we needed to grieve and come to terms with the deaths of our parents."

Jackie's face goes into a hardline. "Do you have records of the work that was going on back then?" She says, and he nods. "They are in the filing office down the hall. My father never liked computers back then. We only had these put in when I joined, but we always changed them every two years," he says.

She nods and turns to Harvey. "Do you have someone you can call to help me?" She says, and he looks at her puzzled. "What do you mean..." he starts to say but stops and looks between us all, something just clicked and looks back at Jackie again and smiles "You think she might have be laundering money as well while she was looking after the business to him, we could look to see if any of the numbers we had to stand out like with Shane and Carly did it, I will ask Agent Matthews to come here and help but I will let her know what is happening, maybe she can help us locate where they are now," he says.

We all nod, and with that, he walks out of the office with his phone in his hand.

Jackie looks at me and smiles. "You know, when Hayley was a little girl; she was never with Ruth at all, always with her father. He was the one who got her into numbers," she says.

She sits, and Harrison looks at her and smiles. "I remember that. Mum never bothered with Hayley, not when she was even born," he says with a slight growth. "Dad always made sure one of us three was always with her, but when mum was around, she never smiled or even looked at Hayley as if she loved her," he says and looks at Jackie, then at me. "I remember one night Hayley had wet the bed and our father was out patrolling the nearby territory line," he says. "Mum went in her room and screamed at her, telling her that she ruined her life and she wished she never was born," he says as a tear slides down his cheek. "Hayley was five years old then. She slapped her hard a few times too. She left Hayley there in her wet clothes and walked out."

He wipes his eyes and looks at the ground. "Both Harvey and I heard everything. When mum left and stormed out the house, we got Hayley changed and she stayed in with us. When she was asleep, both Harvey and I made a pact never to let Hayley get hurt again, especially by mum."

"It wasn't your job to do that," says Jackie in a small voice and sighs. "You were children yourselves."

He breathes in and out but looks at her. "We knew that, but who else was she going to have if Dad wasn't around," he says.

Hearing all this is hard. We all knew Ruth had it in for Hayley, but we never knew why. But by the looks on it, she went through this her whole life living in hell because of her.

I look at Jackie. "Do you know why?" I asked her and she looked at me. "I mean, why would Ruth be like that towards Hayley?"

She stares at me for a few moments. "Ruth didn't want children, all she wanted was to have Gary," she says through gritted teeth. "She wanted to reject your father the minute she saw him, but he wouldn't accept the rejection. He loved me so much. They had Harrison first and then Harvey. She vowed she never wanted anymore. Your father looked after both of you two on his own, I had to help as he was in constant pain due to all the times she was with that man," she says, her face. gets angry and she leans back in her chair and sighs. "I had to watch him suffer. My mate wanted to kill her but because she was my sister, I told them I would talk to Ruth but the night she came back, her face was all covered in bruises and cuts. She was crying really hard. She told me that Gary hit her as he wanted to have more fun and that he found his mate. She left and came home, but the reason behind the beating was because she wanted to kiss him, but he turned her away."

She looks at Harrison. Everyone is silent in the office. "Ruth vowed that she would make it work with your father and even fell pregnant again, but she lost the baby to complications. This was a few months before conceiving Hayley. Ruth was in a bad place and was drinking heavily, but one night something happened which resulted in Ruth being unfaithful again."

There was silence, but we looked back at her, stunned. "You mean to tell me that Dad was not Hayley's birth father" says Harvey, who comes in through the door after hearing the end part of the conversation; Harrison's teeth are clenched together. Vivian holds Harvey's hand while Emma is rubbing Harrison's shoulder to calm him down.

"Who's her father?" asks Summer, who comes to the side of me and places a hand on my arm while alpha Jacob stands next to her.

Jackie shakes her head. "Your dad wasn't her father," she says and looks between everyone, a single one of us. "Your mum went out drinking. She never knew what happened to her, but your father could feel something happening that night. He thought she was back to sleeping with Gary again, but she never was with him. She was a mess and couldn't remember who it was. She had bite marks on her neck that were not from any werewolf but of something else," she says. "A few months later she found out she was pregnant," she says. "With Hayley."

"Why didn't she report it or tell someone?" asks Vivian.

Jackie looks at her. "Ruth never wanted Hayley, but your father told her that the baby was a blessing for them and that they should keep the baby," she says. "Your father accepted Hayley as his own that night she was born. Your mother, though, became bitter and even left Hayley at the hospital. Your father took care of her and made sure she was loved. I even offered to take her on as my own but your father wanted to look after her," she says as a tear slides down her face and sighs. "Your mum went back to going out and being the person she was before but Gary came back in the picture once again and then it became like it was before."

"When your father died, I never placed the whole thing as an attempt on his life until I overheard the conversation Ruth and Carly but I also had a funny feeling that there was more to the story as your mother started acting like she cared about Hayley all of a sudden, especially after the funeral," she says and she looks back at me. "I think her father, actual father, came back into the picture but I don't know for certain," she says and turns to look at Harvey and Harrison. "When I mentioned to your mother about throwing one of her Christmas parties like before, she wanted Hayley to come," she says.

"She made me ask our boss to make sure Hayley was coming home for Christmas," Harvey said. "I never would have..."

He looks hurt about the whole situation.

"Does Hayley know about her birth or anything?" I ask suddenly. I know everyone here wants to know the same.

Jackie shakes her head. "No, Patrick loved her as if she was his own. I think he loved Hayley more than she looked just like your mother and he lost Ruth after the baby they had lost," she says to Harvey but she turns to me. "Hayley shouldn't know about this, this will destroy her," she says. "But I have a funny feeling that Ruth might have gone to where Gary is, especially if he has Hayley. She might even tell her everything."

We need to find Hayley, and fast.

Suddenly Jake, who has been listening in on the whole conversation, looks around and howls. "MATE," he says, which makes me jump.

"Jake, what do you mean, mate?" I ask him.

Everyone looks at me with a strange look.

"Mate's awake, she is coming around" he says going back and forth in my head but I slowly start to feel some emotions and then all of a sudden both Jake and I land with a thud on the floor on our knees, roaring in pain.

Jake comes forward with me as we roar out together. "MATE NEEDS US, THEY TORTURING MATE," we yell.

I try to get up but fall back down as I feel everything that they are doing to her. "AAAAHHHH," I scream.

Vivian comes in front of me and places her hand on my face, closing her eyes.

After a few moments, she moves quickly. "I KNOW WHERE THEY ARE," she says. "WE NEED TO GO NOW" she says loudly.

I try to get up with the help from Harrison and Harvey.

They look at me. "LETS GO AND GET OUR SISTER," they say together.

Jackie came to the side of me. "Theo, Hayley is going to need you," she says.

I nod and shake off the feeling I'm still getting.

Jake growling in my head, "LET'S KILL THEM ALL," he says and I couldn't agree more.

As we head outside, Vivian and Summer stand on the step. "Vivian and I are staying back to look after the younger ones and also we will help Jackie find some proof about what she was saying about the old records and Theo," she says as she comes closer to me. "Bring back my best friend," she says.

I smirk. "YOU KNOW I WILL," I say as I turn and jump from the top step and shift into Jake midair and land on the ground by Harvey.

Jake growls.

We are going to kill everyone who stands in our way. I want my mate back.
