Another Chance for the Beta -
Chapter 57
HARVEY
We have been waiting for Nathan and Hayley to come back for over an hour.
Both Theo and I are sitting around the kitchen table waiting, but Harrison has been pacing back and fore, peeking through the window every so often.
"I hope everything is going alright," says Theo, suddenly pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah, they are," says Harrison peeking through the window and he turns back to us. "They are outside; they seem to be still talking."
"Wait till they both come in," I tell them. Both Theo and I stare at the door as Harrison makes his way back to his chair by the table.
The door opens to a very red faced Hayley and Nathan; they both blow out their breaths as they walk in.
They both take their coats and boots off, head straight to us in the kitchen.
Hayley walks straight to Theo and places a kiss on his lips; he pulls her onto his lap as Nathan sits in between us.
"How did it go?" asks Harrison, looking between the two even though it was more aimed at Hayley.
Nathan and Hayley smiled at one another, but it was Hayley who spoke. "It was ok, we are going to get to know each other and Nathan is going to stay around the pack, to help Alpha Jacob for now with the pack business," she says as she looks at me.
"Harvey, I want to see Mum," she says, suddenly getting straight to the point.
I can't help the snarl that escapes my mouth "Not yet, Hayley, you have been through so much over the last few weeks."
Hayley glares at me; I can see Theo trying to calm her down, but something in her eyes is telling me more. She frowns. "I'm an adult, I need to do it," she says.
"Why do you need to do it now? Why so soon?" asks Harrison, looking slightly pissed.
She glares between both Harrison and I. "How would you feel if our mum stuck a knife in your body and twisted it around," she says and lifts her top up to reveal her scars which Harrison turns but I can't seem to take my eyes off them, they were very deep and thick. "She gave me these. I have to live with these for the rest of my life, knowing my mother did them to me."
She places her top down; she stares at me, then her eyes land on her hands that are now resting on the table in front of her. "I remember every single thing she said to me in that tent, I mean everything," she says as she looks up. I can see tears in the back of her eyes. "Even her final words were goodbye bitch," she says with a snarl.
Hayley looks at me. "Harv, I need to do this. She has caused me so much pain not just for the last few weeks but throughout my whole life; I don't want to go on my own, though. I want all you four to come with me when I do, but I need to have my final say and then she is out of my life forever," she says.
Hayley moves out of Theo's lap and moves around the table and stands in between Harrison and I, she kneels between us taking our hands in each one of hers, she looks between us with determination I think in face 'You two have been my rocks throughout my life, you both have helped me through everything especially when I was a child. You both made a pact to protect me the night she started being really mean to me. I was only five at the time," she said, looking between the both of us.
How the hell did she know about the pact? I can't help but look at Harrison, who has the same look as I do.
Looking between the both of us, she smiles. "I was pretending to sleep that night. I heard you both talk. I never said anything," she said. "I was so happy that you were with my knights in shining armor."
I can't help but chuckle. Hayley loved knights and princesses when she was younger. We used to play loads with her just to make sure our mother never came near her.
She gets up, still holding our hands. "We need to make sure mum pays for what she has done. We never needed her and to be honest, the only people I want in my life are in this cabin right now, also a few others too but at the moment I want my brothers to be there with me and I need to do this, I want to move forward and live a healthy life without any regrets, she won't hurt me anymore" she says with a smile.
I look at our older brother who has the biggest smile on his face. "Hayl, we are with you every step of the way," Harrison says and looks back at me.
I feel everyone's eyes on me looking for my confirmation that I would stand by Hayley, and I will. I always will. Where mother was concerned, I always made sure mother never knew anything about Hayley, not even when she moved in with me. I clear my throat as I nod my head. "I'm with you too Hayley, you know I am. You never have to doubt that," I said. She places a kiss on both of our cheeks.
She smiles and looks towards Nathan who has been smiling at her. "I'm with you too," he says. "I want to see that bitch rod for everything she has done, including what she has put all three of you through," he says.

Hayley turns to Theo, who has a smile on his face. "You know fully well I'm on your side, I'm yours," he says as he gets up from the chair he was sitting on and heads over to her. He wraps his arms around her waist and kisses her. "We are all here for you," he says.
She smiles and looks back at me. "Can you mind link or get hold of Agent Matthews, please, and ask her if we can do it as soon as possible?" She says. "I think mum has been waiting for her fate for far too long, don't you?" I can't help but smile.
My sister is one brave person; I wish I had her strength.
I smile back at her and grab my phone out of my pocket and dial her number and Agent Matthews picks up on the first ring 'Harvey what can I do for you?" She asks. I placed her on speakerphone so everyone could hear what she said. "I was wondering if you were still in the pack house. Hayley wants to talk to our mother today," I say as I look towards my sister.
"I'm still here. I told you I wasn't going till we dealt with her anyway and how is Hayley?" She asks.
"I'm fine," Hayley says. "I want to talk to her one last time, whether I kill her or someone else does. I need her to know she never won and killed me," she said.
I can't help but smile at her. Hayley has definitely become braver over the last few weeks with everything she has dealt with.
"Shall we do it now?" Agent Matthews says. "I think her fate is set, but I believe Hayley, you are the one person she is not going to expect to come to see her."
I know Agent Matthews is right on that one, as mother kept telling everyone that she was happy that Hayley was dead. It was the only thing she would repeat to any of us, including Harrison and I. How wrong could she be?
Agent Matthews told us to be there in half an hour. We all said our goodbyes and I placed my phone back into my pocket as we were done talking.
I look at Hayley. "I do have a suggestion," I said, looking at her.

Hayley frowns, but I can't help but chuckle. "You are still confronting her, but I was thinking about Harrison, Theo and I go in first and bring you into conversation and when I give you the nod, you can show yourself to her," I said and I turned to Nathan. "Same goes for you. She doesn't know you are here either."
He nods with a smile. I think he likes the idea.
After a few minutes, we all wrap up warm and head to the car.
The cells are right next to the pack house.
As we approach the pack house, we park up and everyone is outside waiting for us. Alpha Jacob and Summer are standing outside with Agent Matthews. "We will stay in the office. Emma and Vivian are there too, with Aunt Jackie. We will watch everything on the monitor," says Alpha Jacob.
"I'm coming with you," says Agent Matthews. I nod to her.
Summer and Hayley hug each other, but as Hayley pulls back, she looks back at me. "Let's do this."
I nod.
Agent Matthews opens the cell door and we all walk down, with the four of us leading the way. Hayley and Nathan wait around the corner as we all stand in front of our mother's cell. We made sure she was in the first cell as you walk in on the left.
Our mother was sitting on the bench, and she looked up at us. "What the hell do you want now?" She says in a hiss. "I told you I won't talk to you. I have nothing to say to any of you."
I look at Harrison, who nods. We both smirk. Agent Matthews looks at her with the same smirk on her face as well as Theo. "How about you talk to me then?" says Hayley as she walks around from the corner and right in front of the cell.
Our mother's face was a picture. It was like she was seeing a ghost or something, she goes pale and she starts to stutter "You...you...should..." she says as she stumbles on her words. Hayley just glares back at her.
