Anything For You -
Chapter 69
The young king assisted by his most trusted general Akhim marched forward with full determination to cross that barren and lifeless land. They weren't aware as to how long was it going to take for them to cross it and see the life thriving possibly, still they went ahead. Stepping into the area, so many things were going on inside their minds but none wanted to confess it to the other for both of them were men of firm determination and fear was the last thing they wanted to show each other.
The horses were no longer talking to the wind rather were walking slowly and the sound of them clip-clopping were no longer Audible because it was perfectly absorbed by the hot sand that seemed to be the most important feature of this land. Both the men knew that this so called voyage was going to be long and tiring and to keep themselves sane, they had to do something besides just riding the horses and wandering their gazes all around this sandy area of the planet. "What do you think Akhim? Was it the correct decision I made?" asked the young king to his general Akhim who was riding alongside him but still maintaining a foot-length distance to show his respect and also to guard of any danger from behind. "Your Majesty, I am obliged to follow you. It's my duty to protect you at all costs." Replied Akhim knowing well what the young king wanted him to answer but still he wanted to dodge his question with another answer which made that 23 old boy chuckle. "You know Akhim, you will be as good as an official as you are a general for you always give me diplomatic answers.
You sure know how to say what's on your mind and still not disrespect me."
The boy wanted to get himself indulged into a good Chit-chat session with Akhim since he had long made a mind note that they both have only each other now. It's been a while since they had stepped inside the area and yet all they could see was sand and whooshing wind almost slapping them every now and then.
"Akhim, do you by any means know about this land?" asked the young king wondering why he wasn't aware of such a lifeless and barren area's existence right next to his kingdom. He hoped Akhim to answer it since he was always protecting the borders. "Pardon my ignorance, Your Majesty... but I just know that this land is called 'The Forbidden Land' and no one who had stepped inside this place ever made it out alive. They say that it was never here since the start but slowly turned into what we are witnessing now." Narrated Akhim the whole contents in front of the young king imagining he had told everything that he knew in brief.
"Hmm... I see. But you know that we are not in a rush. You shouldn't brief the contents. We can talk as much as we can." And laughed out showing his set of white teeth which made him look even more handsome under that scorching sun.
"Yes, Your Majesty. I was just wondering if we could cross this land as soon as possible." Said Akhim while his gaze was piercing the shreds of the dead animals due to lack of food. He was a general in military since long time. He could recognize the carcasses and tell whether they had died from hunger, from animal bites or something else.
"So, do I wish too. But I wonder how come this land didn't come to my notice for so long!" Murmured the young king to himself as if asking himself.
Soon after travelling with slow steps of their horses, both of the men had crossed such a large distance of that barren land get they found no traces of human lives. They were tired and exhausted and so do their horses. For having a break, they halted and took a spot besides a sand dune. Although it wasn't a good idea to take shelter besides sand dune, yet nothing could be done for everywhere it was deserted.
After setting the camp, they had some food and rations and fed the horses. They took turns in guarding their resting place and sleeping. Akhim took first turn to sleep for he would guard the king afterwards at the king's commands.
While the young king was sleeping inside their tent, he felt a presence besides him. He was in a deep slumber sleep, hence at first he ignored this. But after some moments again, he felt the blanket over his body getting disturbed as if someone was moving it or someone was trying to take it. He held onto more tightly yet his efforts weren't sufficient and the heaviness over his blanket was getting more making him come to his senses in the fraction and he ended up getting up sweating profusely.
He spared all the possible glances here and there clutching the blanket tightly but found nothing that could have disturbed his sleep. It was like he was in sleep paralysis.
"I clearly felt something over here but what was it." He mumbled to himself and after ensuring that it could be his mind messing with him due to tiredness of traveling in that whole barren land for the whole day, he shrugged off the feeling and got up to let Akhim have some sleep while it was his turn to guard.
"I am doing good. You should rest your Majesty." Said Akhim assuring The young king but the king was also reluctant and his words made Akhim feel like a family man.
"You are not only my general, Akhim but also a father figure. You need rest too. Come on, have some rest. And... before you say something else to negotiate over this matter.... It's my order. Or you can just assume that your son is requesting you to have some rest." Smiling faintly and nodding his head slightly, Akhim handed over his sword to the young king and left for testing before bowing to which the king just embraced him.
They felt like it was a good thing that they were both safe in this deadly zone without any enemies nearby and soon they would cross this area.
Little did they know that they were being watched upon by someone who was going to turn his life upside down. She didn't know why they were here visiting this land but one thing was sure that this unknown girl was going to change everything in the young king's life. -LOZENGE HOUSE~
Scarlet was sleeping soundly over her comfy bed. It was a roller coaster day for her. Stepping into the Azure corporation for gifting Chinchilla as her revenge plan and then getting threatened to death by his deadly, fierce aura which surely came from his wolf and then reconciling with him ending up sleeping on his chest.
After she got up, she found herself still wrapped up in his strong arms under the same tree. She inhaled his manly cologne and wondered if she had saved the galaxy in her past life to get such a hot, sexy and handsome alpha werewolf as her mate-c*m-boyfriend. After bidding each other bye, they both headed towards their respective destinations and now wrapping up all her University assignments for the day, she dozed off on the bed. Since she came to know about Emerald being her mate, she wasn't having any nightmares.
But now what... what was happening and why was she tossing and turning over her bed mumbling something in sleep sweating profusely like she was having a bad dream.
"I.. I.. will ki.... Kill y...ou... you..." saying those words almost choking on her on saliva, she immediately woke up like a thunderbolt had struck her.
Indeed it was a bad dream. She saw herself in a white snowy mountain area wearing ancient clothes and something tucked behind her back surrounded by various different magical creatures who looked like human but they surely weren't. Then she spotted Emerald in front of her. He was also having some weird clothes and was giving off the smirks but she could sense the deadly aura coming from his whole body like he vowed to kill someone.
Moments later the scenario changed and then she stabbed Emerald straight into his heart piercing a strong and shining Sword making him spit blood in ounces. She liked him although she wasn't sure about love, but she cared for him and hurting him was the last thing she would ever do. Then what was the meaning of that dream??
After relaxing and gulping some water, she tucked herself again in the bed trying to sleep again and this time without any bad dream.
-DESTINY LAND~
"Sister, is she recalling her past lives through the dreams?? I am afraid it will hurt her and how would she react after knowing the truth? Do you think that she would still choose Emerald?" asked Choice to her sister Destiny who was having the lines of worried over her forehead.
"I don't know sweetheart. It's all up to her. I just want her to be safe." Said Destiny knowing what would happen exactly in the future.
