Anything For You
Chapter 98

The location and all the surroundings had drastically changed, as compared to the previous ones. It was more lively and full of love in her parental house than this place. That house had the essence of love, and all the memories of good days that she had spent with her parents. But what was this place exactly? Her teary gaze wandered over the whole surroundings to take a note of the smallest possible details so that she could remember visiting here in the past, but even after stressing her brain, it all went in vain. She couldn't help but look at Evanora for answers.

Evanora was also confused, looking at those surroundings, as it was the same place where she landed with Egon a day earlier. But how these two people were related? Egon was a human, a king, while this girl was a snake hybrid. They had never met previously, then how were those two related?

Evanora pried over all the bushes and jungle, and the other second, reality hit her hard. She was now able to connect the missing dots. But how was Estella going to react? She was still in her own thoughts and wasn't able to listen to what Estella had been asking her since a moment. It was only when Estella shook her from her shoulders that she came back to her senses, and witnessed the confused and perplexed expressions over Estella's face.

Estella was watching over all the bushes, the scattered plants, and then jungle on where she was standing alongside Evanora. She looked over at a side and then heard a faint voice coming from that side. The sound seemed to be belonging to an animal, may be a deer Something like that.

Witnessing over the side, she saw a deer running towards the bushes, as if running for life and then came the noise of someone's footsteps which were quite raspy and hurried. There was a man chasing the animal, with a bow in his hand, trying to aim at the little animal's most sensitive point, and to hunt it down.

She remembered the days of her childhood, when her parents used to tell her the tales of people hunting animals for fun, and for passion. They used to keep her protected always and warned to be alert always, since she was a snake, and the snake-charmers were the biggest threat to them.

Looking at the little animal, she felt as if her own heart was plucked out and she herself was running to protect her life. All the odds of her life, all the dangers she had encountered kept on flashing in her mind. Another moment, she heard a loud scream of that pathetic animal, knowing fully-well that the poor creature was hunted down successfully.

She couldn't stop herself from going there to look for the last remaining shreds of life in that animal. Approaching towards the same direction of that loud scream, she was surprised to witness the little animal cornered itself in the darkest of bushes. Her thoughts ran wild immediately.

If... if the deer was fine, then who screamed? Was it the man hunting down the animal or someone else. Prying over the direction, bending herself a little, she looked more into the tallest grasses and saw a man in his mid-thirties lying over the jungle floor, crying in pain, twisting and turning here and there, while his back was facing her.

This side Estella was going restless witnessing al this, and the other side EVANORA's breathing was hitching as the time was passing by, because she knew that there was no going back now. She could only see the helpless girl by her side, whose mind was totally unprepared to receive what was in front of her eyes.

"Lady EVANORA, who is that man? He... he is in a lot of pain. Can we ... go and see him? I mean, I know... we can't do anything to help him, but at least be with him in this time." Estella called out to Evanora, who flinched in her own place hearing out her voice. She had no other option but to nod. She could use magic to stop Estella and turn the events, but this was not her job to do. She was here to help her make pace with her past, and then get her powers. So, without thinking much, she just nodded and the two figures approached the man. Updated by FindNovel.net, visit for more free novels.

But before they could reach to him, another man, the same one who had a bow with him and was trying to hunt down the deer, stepped ahead and crouched down to the lying man's level with guilt written all over his face. On the other side, the poor deer realised that his little life was saved for now and ran deeper into the bushes, disappearing from everyone's sight.

The injured man was trying to speak something, but the arrow that pierced his skin was poisoned and hence, he was counting on his last breaths. The man who shot him was none other than the king, and Estella's eyes narrowed immediately when she looked at him, thereby recognizing his facial features.

She herself had never seen him in person, but her mother always used to tell her the tales of other king's and queens of other realms, because she was a queen too and she wanted her daughter to be friendly with all the other kingdoms too, so as to rule peacefully. Estella's fear which was cornered in the deepest secret places of her heart, rose up to her throat, thereby choking her breathing and making her sob unknowingly. She quickly approached the injured man, only to yell out in pain, and plopped down to his level calling him out loudly, as if he was able to hear her,

"DAAAADDDDDD.....!! Dad, It's me, Estella. Dad.... Look... look at me... pl... please." She was turning more pathetic with the time, and tears flooded down her eyes, wetting her dress successfully. But the man over there was dying inch by inch, without knowing about his dear daughter.

If... if the deer was fine, then who screamed? Was it the man hunting down the animal or someone else. Prying over the direction, bending herself a little, she looked more into the tallest grasses and saw a man in his mid-thirties lying over the jungle floor, crying in pain, twisting and turning here and there, while his back was facing her.

She looked at the king, who was also in tears and was constantly apologizing to him, for mistakenly shooting him, but what could be done now. In the other second, her mother too appeared by her side, and crouched down to the level of her husband, who was looking affectionately at his wife, for one last time, signaling something with his closing eyes.

When all the ladies, Estella, her mother and Evanora looked at his signal, they witnessed the same artifact which he had gifted Estella years ago. It was filled with water, but now was overflowing. The man still was holding it tightly as if his life depended on it. Her mother took over his head in her lap lovingly and started caressing his hairs, trying to soothe his pain a bit, despite of knowing the fact that it was all useless. Tears formed in her beautiful eyes, when she heard him say his last words, "Estella........wanted to... drink... water in this today.......So, I came.....to fill it here. I ... had collected some fruits.... F.. for her too. ... tell her that.... Her dad loves her a lot, and ... and is gone to fetch more .... Gifts for her..... I, ..... I love you too, wife..... Take...ca.." He wasn't even able to finish his words, when his last breath took over the lifeline and he died, turning into a giant beautiful snake. His wife cried for some moments, while the king was sitting lifeless, when he heard her cursing him, and passed him the same artifact saying that it would remind him always of his sin.

Afterwards, she too died there and teleported her body to her dear daughter, leaving nothing but ashes sticking to the surface of jungle which were starting to get wet and absorbed there due to the approaching night and dew drops.

The king stood up and held the artifact, collected his bow, apologized many times again, and bowed down before leaving aimlessly towards the same direction from where he came.

Everybody left, leaving only Estella and Evanora there. The former was heart-wrenched while the later was trying to console her patting over her shoulder. It took no time for Estella to learn that the king was none other than Egon's father, because his facial features resembled with that to Egon.

That was why, Egon wasn't able to face her since he had returned back to resting place after seeing Evanora. He too knew the truth and was guilty for his father's deeds. But was it correct! Why should he be blamed for what he hadn't even done? Estella was trying to reason with herself, sitting at the same place, while tears were still flowing down her eyes like a waterfall.
