Arranged To The Alpha -
Chapter 29
Natalia:
I stared at the man who smiled at me, waiting for my reaction. His eyes mischievous, devious, and if I wasn’t mistaken, even angry.
The way he looked at Blake and I only made me regret coming here, mostly because I wasn’t even sure what to expect, but I surely didn’t expect this. The power that I felt radiating from this place made my heart race, and sensing my worry, Blake let out a low growl, growing protective over his mate.
Knowing that we were just attacked by some fireball, I didn’t know what this man could be capable of. Hell, I didn’t trust what he would do, and I didn’t want to think of how he could harm both Blake and I. He looked around the place, waiting for me to acknowledge anything about it, but I couldn’t help but fear getting distracted.
“You’re my grandfather?” I asked frowning at his behavior. The man opened his mouth to speak only for a voice to be cleared behind me, distracting us.
“Now, now, Alcazar, I told you not to scare my granddaughter. You just got your warning a few minutes ago” a man said from behind both Blake and I. We turned the face him, and smiling at us, the man gave us a gentle, curt nod, his eyes were fixed on my own for a few seconds before he looked at Blake “my apologies for my trainee’s behavior. He tends to be active, in all the wrong ways at times”
“Stay, put, Alcazar” the old man said, not bothering to turn his attention from Blake and I “your little Crystal grew impatient to meeting you, and I had to calm her down before she ended up burning the whole area to the ground. Eventually, she agreed on shrinking…”
My eyes widened and I took a step back as a scream broke from my lips at the sight of the little dragon in the man’s hand. His own eyes widened in surprise as the dragon slid up his sleeve, hiding. Blake’s hand tightened on my own, stopping me from moving as he let out a low purr. I went to take a step back, but was surprised when his purrs grew louder; however, the purrs weren’t directed toward me.
The little creature slowly snuck out of the old man’s sleeve, approaching Blake’s call. It’s blue eyes meeting my husband’s green ones as it returned the purr “Blake?”
“This is you” Blake said taking a step forward, pulling me with him. I went to take a step back, but Blake wouldn’t allow me to as he tightened his grip, encouraging me “just like I have Ares, you have…”
“Crystal” the dragon spoke. My eyes rolled to the back of my head as I lost balance, my vision blurring before everything went blank…

“Rise and shine, baby girl” Blake teased taking my hand in his. I shook my head as I went to sit up, his own eyes were fixed on my own as he helped me, giving me a glass of water to drink. The two of us were inside our bedroom, and I was laying on top of our bed. My mind, despite my throbbing head, was at ease knowing that I was at home.
“Thank you” I said taking a sip. Blake kissed my knuckle and I sighed pinching the bridge of my nose as I tried comprehending what was going on “I just had the weirdest… bloody hell, this thing is real!”
Blake laughed as the white dragon rested on his shoulder, looking down at me with weary eyes. I shook my head as I tried pinching my arm, wanting nothing more than to wake up from this odd dream. Blake took my hands in his, stopping me “just listen, Nat”
“You have a bloody dragon on your shoulder!” I said pointing at the thing.
“Yes, because this dragon is your guardian, baby girl” Blake said gently, stopping my rant. My hands were still in his as he ran his finger over them, wanting me to calm down a bit. My heart raced against my ribcage as the little thing looked at me with big blue eyes which matched my own. My beloved’s emerald green eyes studied my expression for a second before he brought my hand to his lips, gently kissing my knuckle “you’re yet to feel the connection as you’re too surprised to accept it, but I can feel your little dragon just as much as I can feel you”
“How?” I asked. The little lizard walked toward me, sniffing my finger as I fought the urge to flinch. It purred making my eyes widen and my heart drop to my stomach as it slowly neared my finger, scratching its cheek, showing affection, as a cat would do.
“Every element manipulator is born with a dragon hatchling. I am your guardian, in other words, I would keep you safe of harm” the white dragon said looking me in the eye. I looked at Blake who nodded in encouragement, not wanting me to grow afraid.
“How would you protect me when you’re barely my arm’s size?” I asked “and how the bloody hell are you even talking?”
“I am using this size to fit in this room, Natalia. I am a twenty-four-year-old dragon, do you really believe that I’m tinier than a hatchling?” The dragon asked sarcastically. I glared at the little thing making my husband chuckle as he shook his head at me “your husband felt my bond due to your mating, but it seems like you’re far too distracted, or in too much pain to feel it”
“How did you know that I was in pain?” I asked, glaring at the thing. Blake avoided my eyes as he felt my pain, I knew that he was fighting the urge to wrap his arms around me and to cradle me, and the one thing keeping him calm was the fact that I was laying in bed rather than moving around.
“First, I am your guardian, your other half. Therefore, I can feel what you’re feeling. Take it like this, the two of us are mostly linked, if you get hurt, I do, and vice versa. One of us dies, the other dies, there is no in between. Second, you’re growing stronger just as I am, but now that we’re together, the effect on you wouldn’t be as harmful as I would be sucking the excess power, teaching you how to control it”
“Wait, wait, you’ll be staying here? With us?”
“Yes, the mistake that your family did was keep me away from you for this long. It is what caused the excess power to weaken your body. You needed me by your side and you didn’t seem to realize it. Grandpa wouldn’t want to separate you from your mate as he knows that you two wouldn’t be able to handle that. Therefore, he is downstairs, waiting for you to wake up. You two would talk, then he would leave to come back later to check on you”
“Nat, Crystal is here to help you…”
“If she, it, was here to help me, and if it’s really my guardian. This thing would have been here long before this happened” I said glaring at my husband whose eyes widened in surprise.
“I couldn’t have come if I wanted to. You needed to be the one to get me out of the element’s forest, and whether you choose to accept it or not; you are stuck with me. You have no other option, and believe me, just as it is hard for you to be away from your mate, it would be harder to be away from me. The more you grow, the stronger you are, and judging by the fact that you’re the grand manipulator’s heir, you are the strongest of element manipulators” Crystal said explaining the situation to me. Blake stayed quiet as he listened to me, his eyes were fixed on my own as he begged me not to say something that would end up harming me “most manipulators can only control one element, some, and only chosen guardian ones, control two. Leaders control them all, just like your grandfather”
“What about my father?” I asked “as far as I know, he was human…”
“You should speak to your grandfather, until then, I will not say another word. Get out of bed, you’ve gained your strength already, he’ll be the one to explain everything to you”
