Arrogant Man VS Unyielding Woman -
Chapter 350 You Are My Wife
The sunlight sneaked in from the thick curtains and awakened Jean who was sleeping calmly on the bed.
Slowly, Jean opened her eyes and found that Zed was no longer there.
Feeling lazy, she decided to rest for a while longer and closed her eyes. After a couple of minutes, she opened them again and realized she was flushed with shyness. Thinking of the romantic moments that took place last night, Jean felt both happy and shy.
After eliminating the misunderstandings between them, it seemed their love life had gotten better.
Giddiness overtook her and she pressed her face against the pillow to stop herself from smiling too hard.
'Jean, you are an erotic girl now!'
Lying on the bed for a while, Jean suddenly thought of something. Quickly, she got down from the bed and looked at the clock in panic.
Seeing what time it was, Jean started to fluster.
'Oops! It's ten o'clock now. How did I not realize it?' thought Jean.
Both Zed's grandfather and Jesse's grandfather were present here today. 'If they find out I wake up so late, it may create a bad impression, 'worried Jean.
Rushing into the washroom, she quickly finished the morning wash. Coming out, Jean selected the clothes she wanted to wear today, combed her hair, and hurriedly ran out to meet everyone.
When she entered the living room, Jean was surprised to find the house to be quiet.
Seeing the empty living room, Jean stood there stunned. After stopping herself from panicking, she hurriedly took out her mobile phone and called Zed.
The phone rang for a long time but no one answered it. This made Jean even more anxious and she continued to ring him.
After the call was put through for the fourth time, Zed finally answered it.
Jean let out a sigh of relief and quickly asked,"Zed, where are you now?"
"I am in the company. I had a meeting just now..." Zed lowered his voice and asked, "What happened?"
"Grandpa... I woke up and found that there was no one in the house..." Jean spoke in a lowered and panicky sound.
'Oh my God! Zed was not with grandpa now. Where is grandpa?' she thought, internally panicking.
"Don't worry," replied Zed when noticing the worry in her voice. He continued, "In the morning, I heard that Jesse would take him and Grandpa Dan to go out for fun. Maybe they saw that you were still asleep and left without you." Instead of making her feel better, his words had the opposite effect. Jean let out a cry scaring Zed.
In a teary voice, she spoke, "It is all my fault. If I didn't get up so late, I could have gone with them. Zed, I must have given grandpa a bad impression."
Unable to talk anymore, tears started to slide down Jean's delicate cheek.
"Jean, take it easy," Zed pacified Jean on the phone. "Things are not as serious as you think. Remember that you are my wife. Benjamin won't really blame you. You can rest assured! Whatever happens, I will take your side!" Zed understood the extent to which Jean cared about Benjamin's impression and wanted to help her calm down.
'However, it was I who tired Jean so much that she overslept.
It should be blamed on me, 'Zed thought and felt guilty for his carelessness.
"What should I do? What should I do now?" Ignoring Zed's comforting words, Jean continuously muttered and blamed herself for her stupidity. She wondered trying to come up with a solution.
Zed was sorry that Jean was so distressed, but he couldn't think of anything to sort this.
Wracking his brain, he thought of ways to explain to Jean about Benjamin's true feelings. 'Although grandpa seems picky and speaks seriously, he still accepts Jean as my wife.
Anyway, grandpa is just an ordinary old man. The old who often say harsh words tend to have soft hearts.
If grandpa really doesn't like Jean, he will definitely wake her up without showing solicitude for her weak body,' thought Zed. But he didn't know whether his words would make her happy or not. "Jean, take it easy. If you want me to accompany you, I will come over there and find him with you," Zed spoke in a lowered voice to console Jean.
"No..." Hearing that, Jean was stunned and hurriedly said, "Tell me the address. I will go there by myself. If you leave your business just for accompanying me in finding grandpa, he will blame me..."
Zed realized that Jean had a point, although things were far less serious than she thought.
At that moment, Jean was not in a good mood. Zed didn't want to make Jean more worried. He could only compromise. Hence, he said, "Don't worry. Just take it easy. Jean, you are my wife. Although grandpa is important to me, I don't want you to feel stressed because of my family."
"Okay. You can go to work now. I have to hang up the phone." Before Zed could speak, Jean had hurriedly hung up the phone and ran outside. Looking at the phone, a bitter smile crept across Zed's face.
Zed was a little envious, although he knew that Jean was eager to behave well in front of Benjamin so as to change Benjamin's impression of her. 'Doesn't Jean realize that she cares too much about grandpa's opinion of her? Doesn't she understand that she has started to neglect me due to this?'
Zed gave a long sigh, sent a message to Jean to tell her the location of Benjamin, and then walked to the conference room.
On the other side, Jean took a taxi and went to the place that Zed told her.
When she arrived at the Forest Park, it was an hour later.
'It was time for lunch, Jean realized. Quickly Jean took out her mobile phone and reserved a room in Safwan Restaurant. After doing this, she quickly ran to the park. Searching for them everywhere, Jean was finally tired and started to breathe heavily. Since the park was too broad, Jean couldn't cover the whole area.
Finally, she took out her mobile phone and called Jesse. But to Jean's surprise, Jesse knew her phone number and decided not to answer it.
Once, twice, thrice...
Finally, Jesse directly powered off her mobile phone. Hearing the prompt tone, Jean was shocked. She felt annoyed and ridiculous.
'Jesse, your actions surprise me.
Aren't you a genteel lady?
Aren't you an aristocratic lady?
Why do you always show me your ugly side?'
Jean was angry but decided it wasn't right to waste her time in fury. Instead, she walked and walked in search of them.
"Jesse, the phone has been ringing for a long time. Why don't you answer it?" Looking at Jesse who was holding her phone with a spiteful smile on her face, Benjamin asked with concern.
"They are all prank calls. Grandpa Benjamin, just ignore them," Jesse smiled and said, without changing her facial expression.
"She is a clever girl! Benjamin, don't worry about her. She knows how to deal with it." Dan smiled and came to Jesse's rescue.
Benjamin also raised a smile on his face, looked at Jesse with tenderness and said, "I'm sorry that you waste your time accompanying us in walking around, Jesse."
"Grandpa Benjamin, if you say such words, you are not considering me as your granddaughter," Jesse suddenly pouted and said, feigning anger.
Hearing Jesse's words, Benjamin was stunned for a while. He immediately laughed and joked, "I did not consider you as my granddaughter. I used to be optimistic about the relationship between you and Zed. But I did not expect that both of your fate had different plans....."0000
