Chapter 51: Stanley ‘STAN’ Norris vs. Ian ‘WILL’ Williams ~Sleep!
***
"Jeremy, Paige, Philip, and Mama G were at the funeral."
"I know."
"You guys must be real close for them to have thought it was necessary to come." "We are."
Then Will asked a question that didn't surprise Stan. He'd been expecting it. "Why did you pay for the funeral?" He asked, his voice low.
"Because I needed to," Stan said simply.
"We all have things that we want to do but we don't go around doing them."
"You're right. But as I said, I needed to do it. And I usually do what I feel I need to do." Stan shrugged. "As for what I want to do, there are a lot but I don't do all." His intent gaze was on Will who was looking into his mug and slowly running his fingers over the edge. "Can't do all."
"Like?"
"I want to kiss you so bad right now." Stan breathed. "But you don't see me making any move to do that, do you?"
Will's gaze shot up and locked with Stan's. Both men felt the heat. They both wanted that intimacy. But both knew that it wasn't the right time. With a sigh, Stan broke their gaze and focused on the television.
"Any particular reason you're unable to sleep?" He asked quietly.
"Dreams. I see her anytime I start to drift off."
Stan nodded. He didn't need to ask who his mate was talking about. "Are you able to at least get some sleep during the day?"
"Nope."
"Want to try something different?"
"Like what?" Will drank the rest of his tea and put his mug on the coffee table.
"Stand," Stan instructed as he bent over and began to take off his boots. "Did you hear me?" He asked when he realized that Will was still sitting. He stood up after his boots came off. "Come on." He said as he went to stand before Will. Will stood with curious reluctance. "What are you going to do?"
"Relax, I'm not going to kill you or anything." He waved his hands, "See? No gun. That's your specialty."
"I deserved that." Will managed to look both amused and contrite. He watched as Stan took his car keys and phone out of his pocket and dropped them beside the empty mug on the coffee table.
"Alright, let's do this." He got on his back on the couch with his head on the armrest. He patted his chest. "I promise, you will sleep." Apart from the fact that Will loved to fall asleep on him, being close to him would calm him enough to get some sleep. "Come on, you know you want to." He grinned.
That naughty grin. "Fuck, I missed you." Will blurted out before he could stop himself.
"I know." He gave that cocky smile. "Come here, soldier."
With a sigh, Will got on top of Stan and placed his head on his chest. He couldn't suppress his moan when Stan began to run his fingers through his hair and rub a hand on his back. Why had he even resisted, he asked himself. Being in Stan's arms was the best feeling ever. He felt relaxed already.
"Aren't you tired from your trip?" Will mumbled.
"I'll try and catch some sleep too."
"Need to lock the door."
"No one will come here," Stan said as he pressed a kiss to Will's head.
"Someone might." Will sounded drunk. "If I fall asleep and they call and I don't pick up, they will come here."
"Who?"
"My colleagues."
Stan reached for his phone and sent a quick message to Jackson. Then he resumed running his fingers soothingly through Will's hair. "No one will call. Sleep."
And Will slept. For four straight hours, he slept. Stan had slept too for about an hour. He'd woken up when he heard Kate, his head warrior on their mind-link informing him that they were there.
'Tell them to do it quietly please.' Stan told Kate. 'I don't want him to be disturbed.'
'Roger that, boss.'
Stan had watched as the door opened quietly and two werewolves entered the house with bags of grocery shopping. Kate had ensured that everything was packed and arranged quietly. When they were done and the other two had left, Kate had leaned over the back of the couch and looked down at her boss and his sleeping mate and grinned.
"Paige was right. He's a dish." She murmured. "This kissing agreement that y'all have..."
"What about it?" Stan raised an eyebrow.
"Are y'all open to new members?"
"Oh, fuck off." Stan chuckled. "All good at the pack-house?"
"Yep. Everyone is glad you're back in town."
"Yeah, I missed you guys too. See you later tonight, yeah?"
"If you're sure." She smirked.
"How about you get your mind outta the gutter, Katie? He's grieving."
"Well, I've been told that the best remedy for grieving is a good, thick, long, and veiny shlong. You've got that down pat."
'Jesus, Kate.' Stan groaned on their mind-link, watching as the warrior straightened up and did a perfect moonwalk which made Stan laugh.
'So...' She resorted to their mind-link too. 'How about you heal that gorgeous grieving soul by serving him that hot, wicked...'
'Kate!' Stan growled on their mind link and then laughed softly when Kate turned around and sashayed her sexy body like the true model she was, to the door. With a quick wave, she was gone.
Now, after four hours of sleep, Stan felt Will moving against him. He chuckled when the soldier finally raised his head and squinted at him.
"How long have I been sleeping?" he croaked.
"About four hours."
"What?" Will's eyes widened despite the lethargy of sleep.
"Told you you'd sleep." Stan sounded both happy and proud. "Did you dream?"
"No." he placed his head back on Stan. "Did you sleep?"
"I did. Hungry?"
"Nice try." Will drawled as he rolled off Stan. "The mere thought of food makes me nauseous." He stood and stretched. "I know this will sound silly but, it doesn't feel right that I'm able to eat but she's unable to." "She's not here, Will." Stan sat up.
"But that's the problem. I feel she is. I feel her all the time. In my dreams, she always tries to tell me something but I'm never able to hear her."
"It will pass."
"I hope it does." He left the living room for the bedroom.
Stan took off his socks and pushed them into his boots. Then he went to the guest washroom to pee. From there, he went to the kitchen and started preparing some food. He thought stir-fry spaghetti would be the quickest meal. He put some spaghetti on fire and then took out some vegetables, cubed pancetta, and pre-cooked shrimps. He heard Will calling his name as he was chopping the vegetables.
"Kitchen," Stan called out.
"What are you doing?" Will asked with a shocked look when he entered the kitchen.
"What does it look like?"
