Chapter 54: Stanley ‘STAN’ Norris vs. Ian ‘WILL’ Williams ~ Casper the witch!

***

Deloris hugged Stan and then reached up to cup his cheeks in her warm palms. "I have missed you." "Same here, Del." Stan leaned in and kissed the over century-year-old warlock on the cheek.

"Now tell me about this emergency that you claim to have on your hands." She smiled.

Stan couldn't help but return the sweet smile of the powerful warlock. As an elder of their clan, she treated all of them like her children. Even though she was over a century years old, she looked like someone in her fifties thanks to all those spells which delayed her aging. Deloris was known for her expertise when it came to spells. Her potent spells were so legendary she was known amongst the warlock community as Del-the-Spell. If anyone could help Stan, it was Deloris. They were standing outside, by his car. When she'd called to say she was outside the house, Stan had told Will that he was going to look for his missing bracelet in his car. Will would therefore not be suspicious if he stayed outside for a while. "There's a ghost in that house." Stan blurted out.

"Explain."

"My mate's dead mother is gallivanting around, preventing him from getting any sleep."

"Gallivanting," Deloris chuckled. "Did he tell you that? That she was haunting him?"

"He doesn't know but my wolf saw her in the living room this dawn."

"And what was your wolf doing in there?"

"Trying to introduce us to my mate."

"Introduce you?" She frowned. "I thought he already knew him as his...pet." Deloris couldn't suppress the amused chuckle that escaped her.

Stan groaned. "Not you too, Del. I wanted to tell him about me. But he doesn't believe that the supernatural even exists so I thought I'd show him the wolf first...which would have shocked and excited him. Then shift back and tell him everything."

"What a plan. I guess you rather got the shock."

"Yep. He told me that he's unable to sleep because anytime he drifts off he sees his mother in his dream, trying to tell him something."

"Oh, those ones." Deloris laughed softly. "She will never leave until she says whatever she has to say. But did he say he sees her anytime he sleeps?"

"That's what he said. He didn't dream at all when we slept together during the day yesterday though." Stan grinned when he saw Deloris raise an eyebrow. "All we did was sleep."

"I never said otherwise." She said smoothly. She had been with werewolves for a greater part of her life so she knew they were lustful creatures. She was used to it. "This is no ordinary ghost. She's too consistent to be an ordinary one." "How do you mean? What is she?"

"I'll know when I speak to her," Deloris murmured. "To give her son some peace and also free her, she needs to talk to him. So I'll help."

"How do you suggest we do this? Will is not asleep." Stan combed his fingers through his hair in agitation. "He'll want to know who you are and wonder what you're doing here and I won't know what to say."

"Don't worry." Deloris linked an arm with Stan's and steered him towards the porch. "You're the only two in the house, right?"

"Yes."

"Good. Wait here." Deloris let go of Stan's arm and climbed the porch. She stretched out a hand to touch the door and then recited some words under her breath. "You can come now."

"And Will?" Stan asked as he climbed onto the porch."

"Sleeping like a baby." Deloris opened the door and entered with Stan closely behind. Her eyes went to the display of pictures on a long frame shelf in the living room. "Is that her?" She pointed at one of the pictures of Will's mother. "Yep. That's Mrs. Williams."

Deloris picked up the framed picture and looked at the smiling lady for a moment. Then she put it back down and looked up at Stan. "Take me to your mate."

Stan led Deloris to Will's room. Lo and behold, Will was fast asleep in bed. "Good. At least he's getting some sleep," He said as he drew the covers over Will. "Not for long," Deloris said quietly, her eyes fixed on a spot beside Will. "Hello, Mrs. Williams."

"Oh shit, she's here?" Stan straightened up and followed Deloris' gaze to where the bedside table stood. "Oooh, spooky. Hey, Mrs. Williams." He waved. "I'm Stan." "You can see me." Ava Williams sounded relieved. She wasn't shocked because the lady standing in her bedroom was clearly a warlock.

"I can," Deloris smiled. "Not him though." She gestured at Stan.

"What's she saying?"

"Shut up, Stan," Deloris mumbled. "Care to tell me why you're here?"

"He's a wolf," Ava said instead, looking at Stan.

"A werewolf."

"Never seen one of those," Ava Williams said.

"Witch huh?"

"Yes." Ava nodded. "What does he want with my son?"

"Why don't we finish with what you want first, Mrs. Williams."

"Ava," She said softly. "Call me Ava."

"And I'm Deloris."

"I've been trying to talk to my son but it has not been working." She looked so worried.

"I'm here to help you do that. The werewolf called me to come and help."

"I'm very grateful but please, I need to know what he wants with him." Ava gestured at Stan. "I saw them together on the day I died. And I've seen the way he's cared for my boy since yesterday. He seems like a good person. But today, I realized he was a wolf and I'm worried he might harm him."

"He means your boy no harm." Deloris went to sit on the comfortable sofa in the room and fixed her gaze on Ava. "This is very comfortable."

"Yes." She smiled. "I loved to sit in it."

"I don't blame you." The warlock chuckled as she watched Ava leaving Will's side. She took a seat on the storage bench at the foot of the bed. "So, back to Stan."

"She wants to know about her son-in-law, huh?" Stan grinned, leaning against the window and crossing his arms and feet in a relaxed manner.

"She wants to know whether you mean her son any harm."

"Tell her I'm in love with her son," Stan stated firmly. "I will never harm him."

"You heard him," Deloris told Ava. "What do you know about werewolves Ava?"

"Not much." Ava shrugged. "I know they're strong, violent, live in packs, and ruled by their Alphas."

"And they mate for life," Deloris added. "Your son is Stan's mate. So he will protect him with his life. He's in good hands."

"So he's going to turn my son into a wolf?"

"If Will agrees, yes." Deloris responded.

The ghost couldn't hide her panic. "What if he doesn't want it? Will he be forced?"

"Never. If he doesn't want it, they will still be together. Think your son would say no?"

"On the contrary, I know he will say yes. He's always loved wolves. And I can tell he cares for...Stan. But I'm scared. Will it be painful?"

"After that first turn, he will be fine."

Ava looked apprehensive. "He's always wanted kids," She whispered. "How..."

"Tell you what, after we're done with Will, I'll let you speak with Stan directly." Deloris smiled when Ava nodded eagerly. "Then you can ask him anything and even put the fear of God into him." They both looked at Stan when he chuckled. "I'd love that." Ava laughed softly.

"So what's all this about?" Deloris looked serious.
