Arrow Inferno
Chapter 80: Stanley ‘STAN’ Norris vs. Ian ‘WILL’ Williams ~ Sylver to the rescue!

***

Stan's eyes which were filled with shock, dread, and trepidation shifted from his mate to the little boy who was kneeling beside his mate. He felt so dead inside he didn't even wonder what Sylver was doing in the jungle room. Stan's heart was pounding so hard he expected it to fall out of his chest any moment. For once, he didn't know what to say so he said nothing. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Deloris materialize beside his friends but he couldn't even feel hopeful. He felt so lost.

"Hello Will," Sylver said as he reached out to touch the soldier. "I have a question for you."

"Honey, this is not the time..." Ryan called out to his son.

"Hi, Dad." The little boy waved at Ryan. "What time are we going for the horse riding, Daddy?" He addressed Jeremy.

"When I'm done here, son." Jeremy looked as though he was trying very hard not to growl. "Can you please leave?"

"But I need to ask Will a very important question about my lessons."

"You are not eighteen yet, Sylvester," Jeremy said tightly.

"Oh, I know." Sylver grinned. "It's just a question. And only a real soldier can answer it."

"He's not in the position to answer you now, honey," Ryan said coaxingly. Sylver was not the kind of kid to speak harshly to. One wouldn't want to upset him.

"What is wrong with him?" Sylver finally took a closer look at Will. His facial expression instantly changed. "What's wrong with Will, Uncle Stan?" Sylver turned his gaze on a dazed Stan. "Uncle Stan?"

Stan blinked when his eyes clashed with intense green eyes which were filled with genuine confusion and curiosity. Sylver only addressed him that way when he was very serious.

"He's...he is going through the change...to become a wolf, Sylver," Stan explained shakily. "But he's stuck. And he's in a lot of pain right now. Deloris and your dad are here to help him. So go back to your room."

"But I can't leave without an answer to my question." Sylver sounded as if that was the weirdest suggestion he'd ever heard. "Here, let me help you, my friend."

Clearly, the question the little boy wanted to ask was very important to him. He closed his eyes and let out a deep breath. The hand that was touching Will strangely began to glow. Suddenly bones began to crack and pop. Will's transformation resumed with unusual speed to the shock of everyone. And he didn't even look like he was in pain. Through it all, Sylver didn't let go of him for even a second. Within seconds, Will had completely transformed. A stunning huge jet black wolf

stood where the soldier had been moments earlier, his shredded boxers scattered around. No premier shifter had ever shifted that quickly in a final transformation. That was a record!

Even as Philip, Jeremy, Deloris, and Stan stared in shock, Ryan was calling to his son, "Well done, honey. Now come here and allow Will to rest. You can ask him anything you want when he shifts back to human."

"Oh, I've asked him already." Sylver grinned as he hugged the wolf that was sitting on its haunches. "I have my answer." Then he turned to look at Stan who just stared. "He's fine, Uncle Stan. He's tired though so he's going to catch some sleep now." And Stan still stared.

"Huh?" The werewolf sounded as though he had an entire army of frogs building the tower of Babel in his throat.

"Will is sleeping," Sylver repeated. "But the wolf is so mad at you, Uncle Stan. He says he's going to whoop your arse," he giggled.

"Sylvester Stanton, will you mind your language!" Ryan admonished from behind the bars.

"I'm only passing on a message, Dad." Sylver shrugged with an innocent look. He moved closer to Stan with a curious look on his face. "What did you do to him?" he whispered.

"Come here, you amazing angel." Stan croaked as he drew the little boy who had saved his mate as if it was nothing at all, into his arms. "I love you so much," Stan said with so much feeling as he hugged Sylver fiercely. "Thank you."

"For what?" Sylver asked with a confused frown but before Stan could respond, the little boy was making a request of his own. "Can I hang out with the two of you sometime? When you're not doing adult stuff?" he gave a hopeful smile. "You can hang out with us whenever you want." Stan gushed.

"Watch what you promised him, Stanley." Jeremy groaned. At that moment, Stan would have gladly promised Sylver his very life.

"Thank you, Uncle Stan." Sylver looked very happy. "See you later." With that, he disappeared from the jungle room.

"Oh boy," Philip sounded relieved but nervous. "That was...whew." He gave his boss a bemused look. "Looks like we have another problem on our hands," the alpha muttered, his wary gaze moving to the black wolf. "You better shift now, Stan." Jeremy breathed, looking at Stan who was just staring at Will's wolf with his heart in his eyes. The alpha of alphas looked just as nervous as Philip was even though the worst seemed to be over. "Why, what's wrong?" Ryan asked, noticing how wary everyone seemed to be. "Jer..." He trailed off when the elevator opened to reveal Paige, Joel, and Gloria.

"Oh, my fucking god!" Paige exclaimed when she saw the black wolf. "That's a frigging alpha wolf."

"Shift now, Stanley." Joel bellowed, snapping Stan out of his trance.

Even as Stan shifted into his gorgeous chocolate-furred wolf, the black wolf rose off its haunches and turned to face him. It narrowed its wild amber eyes at Stan's wolf and lifted one side of his huge wolf's mouth to let out an angry snarl. Stan snarled right back, revealing wickedly sharp, canine teeth that looked ready to rip anything apart.

"Mum, what's going on?" A still confused Ryan asked Gloria who seemed shocked.

"Black wolves are noted for their no-nonsense attitude and ferociousness," Gloria explained. "With the rage that wolf is feeling this very moment, he can tear anything to pieces. That is why it was necessary for Stan to be in his wolf form." "Oh, now I get it." Ryan nodded.

"There's more." Gloria breathed. "Black wolves are usually alphas."

"Which is strange because Will wasn't born a werewolf," Joel added. "There are no records of turned humans having alpha genes. Un-fucking-heard of!" The elder looked astounded. "That means he's going to be dominant," Ryan said.

"And do you see Stan allowing anyone to dominate him?" Jeremy groaned.

"Oh, my god!" Ryan gasped, finally understanding the countenance of the others.

"I knew we were in for a surprise." Deloris chuckled. "I just didn't expect this. He's so beautiful."

And all who heard her either nodded in agreement or silently acknowledged the warlock's words. Will's wolf was absolutely stunning.
