Avenging The Triplet Alphas -
Chapter 52
Arielle's
POV
What are the chances of someone picking out her wedding dress three times in her lifetime? The chances were rather slim or nearly impossible but here I was barely into my mid-twenties about to get ready for my third marriage. But unlike the previous two marriages, I wasn't particularly interested in this one. It felt like an obligation that I had to fulfill because I failed in my plans to make them pay for what they did to me over a year ago.
I stood in front of the mirror examining the length of my dress, I decided against picking something elegant, there wasn't anything particularly special about today. I was only here to hold up my end of the bargain. Jana was going to babysit my son while I got this over within a couple of hours.
There were a couple of maids helping me get ready for the ceremony which was going to begin in around half an hour.
The crowning of the Van Tyson's brothers would take place first and then the mating ceremony was going to happen next and her fate would be sealed for life.
"We'll be making our way downstairs in a couple of minutes," A man yelled, making the maids hurry up with getting me ready.
A couple of minutes later, I was making my way down the stairs to a chorus of people cheering me on, especially the maids who had helped in getting me ready.
I forced myself to smile to maintain the facade I was going to put on for the rest of the day. It already looked like a lot for me to deal with but considering how important today was, it was expected of me to play the part of a loyal and dutiful Luna.
I eventually got to the bottom of the stairs and made my way inside the grand ballroom where the crowning ceremony and marriage were going to be held. The crowning ceremony was already in full swing, I murmured a lot of apologies as I made my way to the front, taking the empty seat on the left-hand side of the throne.
Despite my obvious lack of enthusiasm, I couldn't help but feel impressed by the amount of effort they had put into organizing everything. There was nothing out of place, everything seemed immaculate and spot on. The guests were of the elite class, I could feel the aura emanating from a host of them.
The brothers were dressed in the finest suits I had ever seen, their hair was smoothed back across their faces and they all stood tall and proud, ready to become the heir apparent to the soon-to-be vacant throne.
Xavier Van Tyson was abdicating his throne to his sons and as soon as the mating ceremony was over, we would be proclaimed Alphas and Luna in front of everything present here today and in front of the thousands of pack members watching live from outside the mansion walls.
"With the power vested in me, I proclaim you three as the heirs to the now vacant throne of the Blood Moon pack."
I watched as Xavier's voice boomed around the room, everyone fell silent immediately he began to speak and as soon as he completed the ritual, the crowd erupted into a chorus of applause and whistles.
Arielle's POV
What are the chances of someone picking out her wedding dress three times in her lifetime? The chances were rather slim or nearly impossible but here I was barely into my mid-twenties about to get ready for my third marriage.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw them look toward me. Ever since I walked right into the room, I've avoided making eye contact with them but they were looking at me right and I didn't care in the slightest bit.
A couple of minutes later, I was walking towards the aisle where the Van Tyson's stood upright, their faces had different emotions, Loki was feeling contented, Jonathan was visibly excited and Elijah looked relieved.
Xavier Van Tyson was acting as the priest and as his face has always been, he was emotionless. Never giving anything away.
As soon as I got to the aisle, I began to feel a flurry of emotions running through me. Weddings were meant to be one of the happiest days of your life so why did I feel like crap? Like I was nothing other than a sacrificial lamb being led to the place of slaughter. But maybe that was what I was now. Right now, I couldn't object. All I could do was follow the script laid out for me if I wanted to live.
I eventually got to the top of the aisle and I stood opposite the Van Tyson brothers, waiting for Xavier to officially begin the ceremony.
I've often wondered how it would be to change one's fate within the blink of an eye. To suddenly divert your course onto a different path not minding whatever repercussions you incur on yourself. Your only aim is to get revenge at any cost.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Alphas and Lunas, wolves of the elite, and every wolf watching from anywhere around the world. I cordially invite you to the mating ceremony between my sons and their chosen mate." Xavier began, interrupting my train of thought. "In front of the Moon Goddess and with every single one of you acting as witnesses, I will now begin the mating ceremony." Xavier finished to a round of applause.
This would be the best chance I will ever get to carry out my revenge. I was never going to have a better opening than what I was being afforded now and all I had to do right now was follow my script to the last detail. I've been planning this for a long time now and I couldn't wait to taste the sweet feeling of victory when it happened.
"Do you, Loki, Jonathan, and Elijah, promise to love and cherish your mate for the rest of your lives, to provide and protect in the face of danger and harm till death do you part?" "Yes," They replied in unison.
Their voices made me quaver, we were going to do this and I was still undecided on what line of action I wanted to take.
"As you three have accepted your marriage vows, do you act Arielle to be your mate in front of the Moon Goddess and the people serving as witnesses?"
"Yes." They replied in unison and the room erupted into a frenzy.
I could feel my knees shaking. It was now or never, I had to speak up now or remain silent forever.
I could feel the intensity of Xavier's eyes on me as he focused his attention.
Do you, Arielle, promise to love and cherish your mates for the rest of your lives, to provide and protect in the face of danger and harm till death do you part?"
"Yes," I whispered, clearing my throat in a bid to become audible enough for everyone to hear.
As you have accepted your marriage vows, do you act Loki, Jonathan, and Elijah to be your mates in front of the Moon Goddess and the people serving as witnesses?"
It was now or never. I couldn't waste any more time, I had to pick an option.
"No,"
I heard the collective gasp from the room and I couldn't remember the last time I felt thrilled about something as much as this. The shock on everyone's face was a delight to me, they never saw this coming in a million years could they have predicted this. I was two steps ahead of them this time around but I wasn't done, I had a lot of things to get off my mind and now that I had everyone's attention, I had to finish it up.
"I know everyone here is shocked by my answer or my rejection if you want to put it that way but I couldn't stand to see my life being wasted being mated to these three," I pointed my finger to where they still stood, shell-shocked.
"They're not trustworthy enough to be your Alphas and I learned this the very hard way and I want it to tell you all my story I had been a naive high school who let herself be swooned by the attention I was getting from the popular Van Tyson brothers, I tried to fight it at first but they managed to win me over. Little did I know that all they wanted was to sleep with me whenever they could under the guise of being mated to me and I was a fool giving into their every whim and when they got tired of me, they sent me packing on the day we were supposed to get married approximately 18 months to this day!"
"You will stop this nonsense at once," Loki's voice boomed.
I turned towards him with a frown on my face. He looked worried and angry at the same time. I felt no remorse for what I was doing, they deserved to feel every bit of hurt like I felt. They couldn't eat their damned cake every time and still have it. Not anymore, not on her watch, and if they thought she was done, they were sorely mistaken.
I turned back to face the crowd. "That's not all I have to say, there's a whole lot more to add."
"Arielle, you know I'll desist from this display of sheer stupidity of yours immediately!"
"You don't want me to tell everyone you have a son?" I laughed bitterly. "That's right. I have a child for the Van Tyson's outside of marriage which technically makes the child a bastard according to tradition."
