Chapter 79

YUNIFER'S POV

I could feel my blood boiling surging inside of me upon what I saw. I clenched my fist in anger as tears drip down my cheeks from anger. I got off from Drake's embrace and I watched those victims, screaming and crying from agony as they kept on begging the witches to let them go but the witches just looked at them as if they were dead people and continued whipping them, beating them to pulp and kicking them as if they were some kind of an animal.

My eyes squinted from anger when I heard them shriek from agony as blood spurt out from the grass.

I don't know what happened to me but I couldn't think clearly. I only acted through my instincts.

Even Drake didn't have time to stop me.

A sudden burst of energy formed inside of me that gained my strength to rush like a flash towards their direction and put my strength on my legs and kick the witch who was about to action to whip the poor young man. The other witches who were beating the victims were stunned when they saw their fellow witch who was being thrown away and its body slammed heavily on the large tree, making the witch splurt blood out from her mouth. "Damn! Intruder!" One of the witches yelled angrily while cursing.

After seeing that I had already fought with a witch, the other three immediately come out and stop from spying on the witches, waiting for an opportunity to attack since I had already allowed them to do so.

I glared at the witch who tried to attack me after I kicked their fellow witch. I raised my fist and punched heavily at the witch who was about to cast a spell to attack me.

I was bursting with energy. It was as if all of my anger was used to fuel my strength that's why I became stronger than before.

Another witch come while screaming from anger as she lunged forward with a quick jab, but I was already expecting her attacks, sidestepped the blow, and responded with a swift kick to the high, leading the witch to scream as her body was flung in the air.

I grabbed the nearest witch who was holding the same whipped that was dripping with blood from those innocent victims that were lying on the ground and was being tied by a rope that's why they can't escape and could only crawl their way while they tried to escape but ended up always receiving the attacks of the witches.

I also saw Havoc and Kale who had helped those victims to sit and untied their ropes. Although they were battered to the point that their faces could only be hardly recognized and their body was filled with bruises and stained with their blood, they were still breathing and was fighting for their life especially because there was someone important in their life, waiting for them to come back hope.

When Kale felt my stares, he looked at me and nodded his head as he mouthed, "Don't worry, I will take good care of them."

Upon hearing that, I let out a sigh of relief as I already focused on fighting against witches.

Both Drake and I had joined our hands to dye our hands red again as we mercilessly killed the witches with the long sharp swords that we got from their fellow witches earlier, and used them to kill the witches. Blood kept on splurging on the ground, staining the green bermuda with red.

"AHHH!!!"

Now, it was the witches' turn to scream from agony and pain.

I noticed someone's presence behind me who tried to punch me but I swiftly dodge to the other side I almost stumbled because of the rock near my footing, but I quickly regained my footing and launched a series of powerful punches which leads to the witch to grunt when she received quick strikes to the chest and abdomen.

I sneered at her and walked in her direction and tightly clenched her hair, glaring at her openly.

"Tell me, do you like it when you abused those innocent victims who had nothing to do with you? Are you all that sick?! Do you not want to stop all of this mess?! Many of those innocent people had died because they were implicated by the anger and so-called revenge of your witch leader! Do you think that just by doing this, she could resurrect her so-called treasure?!"

I couldn't help but yelled at them while tightly gripping the hair of the witch who was grunting from the pain and wanted to break free from my hands which were preventing her from escaping.

When I saw the witch whom I was holding was about to use her magic, I immediately punched her on the side of her face, making her daze from the pain.

When the other witches saw this, their hearts surged up with anger while glaring venomously at me.

"So what about it? It's not like we had tried to capture you and besides, this is none of your business so why do you all keep on meddling?! If you wanted to die, then die! Don't just turn around and calmly mess with the witch leader and our fellow witches!" One of the witches angrily yelled at me, making me laugh at her words.

I looked at her with mockery. "Oh really? It's none of my business? I am the Luna of the Alpha King and those twins Alphas! It is also my responsibility to maintain the orderliness and peacefulness of my people! Plus, what did you just say? Don't mess around with the witch leader and your fellow witches. Don't you have eyes? Can't you see that the one who is always provoking and making things worse was all of you, witches! I wanted to make peace with your so-called witches but what did she do? She still kept doing what she wanted by eliminating those whom she loathed! But those people that you have tortured and kidnapped were innocents! They didn't choose to be in the same bloodline as their ancestors who had hurt your witch leader's treasure!"

I couldn't help but yell at the time. I am very curious about the fact that they disregarded the lives of others and just continued what they were doing as if they do not care about the innocent lives of others as long as they could get what they wanted. Although I know that some of these witches were being controlled by the witch leader-no, should I say that all of the witches had become a puppet for the witch leader at the same time, they still regained their consciousness, their mindset, and everything as if they had never been becoming a puppet. Plus, I could tell that someone had been trying to break free from being a puppet because they probably it doesn't want to kill innocent lives or so what doesn't have any other choice but to obey the command of their leader.

But if there is someone who had tried to resist being a puppet of the witch leader, then there are also the majority of the witches who are killed willingly to offer to the witch leader.

Suddenly, I felt someone's presence behind me and when I turned back my head, I saw that it was Drake who gently patted my head.

"Stop talking with them. Even if you would converse with them, no matter how much you tried to convince them to stop killing impulsively especially those innocent people that they had implicated, they won't listen to you, especially since their witch leader was hard-headed in the first place." Drake softly yet seriously said while looking at me with those pair of affectionate eyes, making my heart warm.

I gently hook up my lips and let my eyes curve like a crescent moon, blinding and shining in the dark while looking at Drake with a nod.

"En, I know-" before I could finish my words, my eyes shrink in nervousness and fear when Drake pushed me away to the other side.

"DRAKE?!" I shouted his name with anxiousness when I saw his left arm dripped with blood and I watched Drake, angrily taking his weapon that had dropped on the ground, and without hesitation, he slit the throat of the witch who attacked him. After seeing that, I was slight relief that the witch had already died however, I couldn't help but feel worried when I saw his arms being injured.

It seemed that Drake could perceive my anxiousness from afar, he smiled at me and answered loudly. "I am fine and it already stopped bleeding but it wasn't that deep."

After hearing that, I couldn't help but let out a sigh and gave him a soft smile in return.

However, my brows couldn't help but furrowed when I saw the slow motion of Drake who was yelling and shouting at me while moving forward in my direction in a fast manner.

I even heard Havoc and Kale who called out for my name.

"Ack..."

My eyes widened in disbelief when I felt a strong surge of pain in my abdomen.

I couldn't help but let out a muffled sound as my hand reached out to touch my abdomen and found that there was a sharp-pointing weapon that had stabbed me from the back.

Suddenly, a familiar way of speaking whispered in my ears. "You know, Yunifer, I don't want to do this and hurt you but I left with no choice but to do this. You are getting bold and meddlesome. If you had just turned a blind eye towards this matter, this won't happen to you."

I let out a mocking laugh in my heart despite the pain in the abdomen that made me want to scream.

My mouth quivered as I hoarsely answered with blood dripping from my mouth. "W-Witch leader..."

"Aw, poor you. You shouldn't have meddled in someone else's business and this won't happen to you." Her voice was soft like she was whispering to my ears like a devil but behind those words, she was teasing me for being a fool.

Suddenly, a figure appeared at my side and angrily kicked the woman behind me.

Even without looking at who was that person, I could already guess that it was Drake.

After he kicked the witch-who just controlled someone else's body again, he rushed in his direction to mine and the corner of his eyes reddened when he looked at me.

His hand was trembling as it reached out to caress my face. "Y...Yunifer... hang on okay? I will call Havoc, he's a doctor. He's much better than his assistant Kale who always took care of that patient who had a small wound... j-just hang on, okay?" His eyes were begging me. Seeing him being like this, made my heart clench.

I want to tell him that he doesn't need to beg because I will really hang on to this dearest life of mine and that I still want to be with him, with them along with those twins who were in the mansion.
