Bedmates Soulmates
CHAPTER 136

"What are you doing?" Kira asked,

'Does it still hurt?' he asked.

His fingers didn't stop their exploring.

Kira gave a tentative shake of her left foot.

The pain had let up.

No,' she said.

'Good. The man's voice had gone husky. 'I've just rendered you a service. Time to claim my payment."

The lust-filled look in his eyes made plain the meaning of 'payment."

Kira rolled her eyes.

She took back her earlier assessment.

The man was not kind at all!

He was a cunning, calculating, self-serving businessman through and through.

His hand was at her zipper now.

Kira twisted her body, blushing. 'Stop it!'

Austyn kept going.

Kira scooted on the seat until she ran out of space.

Her back was against the car door.

Austyn pulled on her leg and drew her in for a tight embrace.

Trying to stiff me out of my pay?' he said. 'I'm not a charity worker, you Imow."

"I'll pay,' Kira said. "If you'd just let me get my wallet."

"I'm not talking about money. His hand slid under her t-shirt.

Kira gasped.

'Let's pick up where we left off at the club, shall we?'

Austyn had driven like a lunatic because he was in a rush to get back to the villa.

She balked at the idea of having sex in a public restroom, but she couldn't say no if the bathroom was their own, could she?

But now Austyn was starting to think that sex in the car was not a bad idea, either.

Friends With Benefits

Her father was at work.

Kira locked herself in the bathroom and cried.

It was Gideon who kept knocking on the door till she opened it.

When he learned what happened, he left and came back ten minutes later, with a shopping bag full of sanitary pads.

He told her that she wasn't dying, that it was just a normal change in her body, and that it was a sign that she was growing into a woman,

He even taught her how to use the pads.

His reassuring embrace and his soft words calmed her down.

Later, she had been mortified, but Gideon told her there was nothing to be ashamed of.

In their four years of living together, he assumed the roles of a mother, a father, an older brother, and a confidante.

It was impossible not to fall for him.

Kira had idolised him and followed him around like a second shadow...

"Young Madam, what are you thinking about?"

Elsie's voice brought Kira's mind back to the present.

She shook her head and cleared her throat. 'Um, nothing. I just zoned out for a second.".

Elsie noticed Kira's pale face. 'Are you coming down with something? A cold?"

'No, I'm fine, really.' Kira hastened to explain.

She was afraid the housekeeper was going to whip up another one of her homemade secret recipe soups which she claimed cured everything.

'I was just thinking about Austyn, Kira said. 'Wondering how long his bad mood was going to last."

'Just go and talk to him," Elsie said with a smile. 'A couple's spat never lasts long. All you need to do is to offer a bright smile and some sweet nothings. Maybe give him a gift- 'Oh no no no no, that won't be necessary. Kira shook her head vehemently.

She still remembered what happened the last time she took the housekeeper's advice and offered Austyn a 'gift.'

He almost pulled a gun on her!

Okay, not on her, on the frog, but still....

'Elsie, your idea of a gift got me in deep, deep trouble last time.'

The housekeeper shrugged. 'It was worth a try."

An hour later, both Elsie and Kira were yawning

Kira's eyes were heavy with sleep.

She missed her big bed and her soft pillow.
