Georgina was shaking like a leaf.

Her knees threatened to give out.

Onlookers murmured at this new twist in the plot-why was the M Group's president riding to that girl's rescue?

Did the two know each other?

The confident smirk was gone from Kira's face, replaced by mortification.

She could feel the curious glances from the crowd alternating between her and Austyn.

Their minds must be whirling with all kinds of speculation right now.

Why must Austyn do this?

She tried to move away from him but couldn't.

Austyn kept his iron grip on her shoulders. 'Kai.'

'Yes, Boss."

'Get the party organiser.'

'Yes, Boss."

Two minutes later, Kai returned with a man who was sweating profusely.

He'd jogged all the way here.

'Mr McCarthy.' The man bowed. 'Forgive me for not greetin-"

'Check the ladies' invitations,' Austyn cut him off.

The man straightened up, mopped beads of perspiration from his forehead and walked up to Georgina and Alissa. 'Ladies, could you please show me your invites?' Both women panicked.

They were in neither business nor politics; of course they didn't get an invite

Their invitation cards were forged.

The usher at the door just did a cursory inspection and let them in.

But there was no way their fake copies could fool the organiser.

"I misplaced my...uh..."

They were now the absolute centre of attention.

Georgina wished the ground underneath her feet could open up and swallow her whole.

Any fate was better than this public humiliation.

Alissa hung her head and used Georgina's body as a shield.

Their faces turned vermillion.

They stammered, unable to string two words together.

The organiser was losing his patience.

He'd pegged the two as party crashers.

'Ladies, if you can't produce your invites, I'm afraid I'll have to call security."

Georgina shot a venomous glance at Kira.

It was all her fault!

Feeling his job was done here, Austyn said simply, 'Kai, stay here and follow up.' 'Yes, Boss.'

Austyn left with Kira by his side.

The organiser signalled to the security guards.

Georgina and Alissa were physically hauled out of the banquet hall.

Kayleigh hid in a corner, shielded from view.

She took in the scene with a stony face.

After she saw Austyn leave with the Hewitt woman, she dialled a number.

When the call was picked up, she said, 'Mr Santoro, Hewitt is at the Grand Copthorne right now. This is the perfect opportunity to carry out your plan.'
